  1. Pre-dic-shaun MMPI will build. MMPI will fail to meet benchmarks. MMPI is GONE. We have a new Convention Center. Developer steps in gets MM+ County Admin Bldg. CASINO! FCE gets nice payoff from Gilbert. County consolidates facilities. County Admin signs long lease with FCE. Almost everybody's happy.
  2. If it was mediocrity they were going for, they hit a home run. The MM was the only way to get the CC rebuilt. The CC is the most important part of the project and the devil is in the details. The MM will be long gone and the CC will have to carry this thing. The CC MUST BE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. You would think with all the "mart connections/experience" we should/could have got a better deal on the juvi center furnishings. I wonder if anyone even asked. Maroons, but I digress.
  3. I would describe the design as from the mid 20th century myopic school of public buildings.
  4. Just returned from groundbreaking. New Governor sounded like he was supportive. Kennedy, rah,rah and announced a nice line up of tenants. I told a acquaintance "Let's stop shoveling the political BS and let these guys get to work."
  5. CC does NOT extend under St Clair nor does any parking garage.
  6. It is apparent some "moderators" feel their snark opinions are above reproach. The great and powerful Oz has spoken. Let it be written.
  7. It is my understanding that it will reopen @ a downtown location, in the future. In 35 more years, it will be 100. I believe it is the oldest original location bar downtown in continuous family ownership (64 years). I also believe it to be "The Original Sports Bar". Old School. Others but followed.
  8. Not that I am aware of. A few friends saying good by to a old friend. The bitter sweet passing of a bygone era but a step forward in a brighter tomorrow for all who love and believe in this City's future.
  9. Play nice! 113 Bldg is clearing out. Sportsman will close Dec 10.
  10. As 2 moderators are asking... Downtown property owners pay a special tax to fund curtsy patrols, litter cleanup. etc. At the last meeting, it was decided to encourage galleries to occupy storefronts to make a more favorable impression of the Avenue. More information available @ Downtown Alliance. The End.
  11. Speaking to the MMCI as a catalyst for downtown, there will soon be a number of art galleries opening on Euclid Ave., which will make things more walkable and attractive.
  12. I read the thread. I am up to speed now. Congratulations to us all.
  13. That is in addition to the E Bank hotel. Wolstein is completing finance before end of year.
