Cincinnati: Downtown: W&S Condominium Project (3rd & Broadway)
^ I couldn't agree with you more, Jake. As much as I dream of structures "Big and Tall" arising here in this SE sector of the CBD, I also fear what John Barrett has in mind, as both he and his political/business cohorts poach whatever they can from elsewhere in downtown and OTR to complete their own manic, past-tense visions of Cincinnati. (As you said, Darth Vador will easily prey upon what is nearby and readily available than what is farther away and less obtainable--in other words, they'll poach what they can from downtown, OTR and Uptown rather than from Nashville, Charlotte and beyond.)

Cincinnati: Downtown: W&S Condominium Project (3rd & Broadway)
^ This business-news will renew heated conflict over Cincinnati's valuable SE CBD quadrant--ie, what surrounds Lytle Park. Once again, the forces of "Good" (read in, Anna Louise Inn supporters plus historic preservationists) will combat the forces of "Evil" (read in, W&S led by their overlord, John Barrett) and blood will soon flow. But, then again, why? Cincinnati isn't destined to remain some "historical-museum" and its Lytle Park surroundings will benefit from a major "business-transfusion" as will occur if The Dark Lord and his W&S underlings win this fight.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
^ Certainly welcome news, but at this late stage of Delta's destruction of CVG, can anyone or anything make a difference over there across the river? Personally I dunno, but what I do know is that somewhere around 2005, CVG fielded some 675+ flights/daily and its success then rivaled that of Charlotte today. But no more and for known reasons why...so please don't refresh my memory; I've heard it all and I do understand. :-(

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
^ You said it all, natininja; Cranley may be dumb, but he ain't stupid. (And, as you observed many months ago--on this upcoming special day, this political opportunist will be the first one to "cut the ribbon" of Cincinnati's new streetcar--and he won't blink an eye.)

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
GE ain't gonna wanna hear either about Cranley or why that 30-story (+) residential tower @ 4th & Race ain't gonna happen. (Agreed?) Cranley needs to be kicked to the curb and booted into history. (AGREED?)

Cincinnati: Oakley: Oakley Station
Jake--as much as I agree with you on so many things, here I'm really asking you to modify your perception of Oakley Station, at least as applied to GE... No, "Oakley Station" isn't what any of us ever wanted (especially after we were shown the possibilities of a revamped Milacron complex with its former structure intact), but consider that: (1) this isn't MASON, a terrible choice for well-known reasons; (2) this isn't EVENDALE, as some misguided posters have wished for; and lastly and most importantly; (3) this isn't Columbus, no matter how much Kasich and his cronies prayed otherwise. No matter what, not some generic "SW OHIO," but actually the "city" of Cincinnati, itself, is about to gain 1,400-2,000 high-paying jobs and the additional presence of one prestigious F10 company! Obviously, many of us wish GE will relocate at either the "Banks" or elsewhere within the city's CBD. But, if GE decides otherwise (and also considering what we already appreciate about Oakley/Hyde Park/Norwood, etc.), would "Oakley Station" really be that bad a second choice? (ie, the virtual center of Cincy proper, connected to numerous major traffic arteries, surrounded by a wealth of upscale retail amenities, and soon to be serviced by this region's most prestigious Kroger Marketplace store... (). Now, tell me, what's there not to like about this second-best, centralized, city proper location? (:wtf:)

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
^ Thanks for the update. Obviously, it's premature for me to congratulate Norwood just yet, but if this is true, it will be a great win!
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
CHP is also considering Norwood's vacant U.S. Playing Card complex and its renovation specifically for them.

CINCINNATI Photo Tour (March 2014), Part 2: Over-the-Rhine
Perhaps one of the most comprehensive and valuable photo-shoots of OTR ever. Many onlookers and admirers (myself included) will undoubtedly be referring back and forth to this pictorial "catalogue" of Cincy's most celebrated neighborhood as a reference point, as transformations there continue.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
A justified comment indeed, but don't bet on it. In some mysterious and malevolent way, Mike Brown almost always gets what he wants--and I, for one, believe that jmecklenberg's #7228 comment offers us reasonable insight why.

Columbus: Hotels, Conventions and Tourism News & Info
But Tampa has all of those strip club shuttles which I'm sure more than made up for it in the eyes of the TPTB at the RNC. Having no tit-bits near Dowtown was probably a major factor for C-Bus's elimination. Frankly, I'm surprised Cincy made the cut for the same reason. What are we saying here, anyway? That Cincy had less "tit-bits" than Tampa, but just about equal to Cbus? P-l-e-a-s-e! As you must already realize, the reasons Cbus lost its bid for the 2016 RNC (vs.Cincy) was about far more important things than this.

Columbus: Hotels, Conventions and Tourism News & Info
Lack of "rail transit" may have been of concern--but that was hardly the deciding factor in Columbus getting the boot. (For example, exactly where is Cincinnati's rail transit?) :wtf:

Cincinnati in 2012 [69 Photos]
Thank you, Sherman, for this 2012 Cincinnati montage. Yes, certain things have changed since then (and, perhaps, radically), but then again, maybe not since 2012. Obviously, this is "2014" and our city has grown accordingly--but, thanks to you; "2012" still says much about our recent "yesteryear." Thank you.

Cincinnati: Oakley: Oakley Station
Very much agree. Akin to those ominous opening scenes in "Independence Day," Kroger finally hovers over Oakley Station with its biggest store locally and second largest store nationally. And, as was mentioned, the shakeup/fallout amongst nearby big-box food retailers may prove catastrophic. (and how this new Marketplace store will affect either Kroger at Hyde Park or Surrey Square is anyone's guess) Nevertheless, bring it on. As for myself--if only out of curiosity--I hope to be one of the first shoppers through the doors! :-D

Cincinnati: Corryville: University Village
Such a new store will also adversely affect the busy Surrey Square store, which draws heavily from Evanston and Avondale. Add to this, the opening of a new Kroger flagship store at Oakley Station, which will affect every food store for miles around, including Hyde Park and Norwood. Indeed, big changes seem imminent.

^ Now, if there were any "Ute Lemper" CD's amongst them, I'd really be upset--after all, "The Case Continues..."

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^ I do appreciate you mentioning that Murray actually confided such to a small, select, and private audience--but, then again, what opportunist wouldn't under such protected surroundings? This politico is truly a first-class "clown.'' No, not a "Chuckles The Clown," but she sings either a Judy Collins or Roger Whittaker rendition of "Send in the Clowns." (ie, I'll be whoever you want me to be...)
-
Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^ Murray's truly a political animal and opportunist and nothing else.
-
Cincinnati Enquirer
^ Agreed. Wow, what a surprise this morning when I opened "The Enquirer." It's radically different than the old format and the "comments" feature seems non-existent. (I just wonder when a pay wall will go into effect.)

Columbus: General Transit Thread
^ Agree with ProkNo5. The "Airport-Downtown Rail Connection" is one of the most provocative and worthy transportation ideas to emerge from this car-centric metro. The nice thing about this concept is that it can be tweaked in ways to either satisfy or placate local naysayers. Columbus really needs to get behind this one, big time and soon; the potential is there and it's promising in so many ways. (Just do it!)

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
^ Most certainly, unlike his role in assisting in Paycor's move from Queensgate to Norwood, Cranley probably had little to do with CHP's choice of Bond Hill for its new HQ. (After all, their agenda was probably determined months ago.) But, on the other hand, the loss of the HQ to the downtown does hurt. In the end, let's just hope that Bond Hill is assuredly CHP's new location, still within the city.
-
Cincinnati: Random Development and News
^ Disappointing news, indeed, that Catholic Health Partners chose not to move into the CBD. (What a welcome addition to downtown their new HQ would have been!). Nevertheless, if the Bond Hill site proves more than just a business-rumor, it's not necessarily all bad--and that's because of two major reasons: not only will this health-giant remain within Cincinnati proper (vs. Blue Ash or West Chester) but that it has also chosen to remain in the Cincy metro rather than being lured away, in a major business-coup, to Kasich's Columbus.
