Yes, I would like to see something substantial there.

I was adraid this would happen. The project was just too exciting to trust.... With the Warehouse District, StArk's multi-block extravagabza fizzled down to ZERO.

Yes, I had posted quite extensively about that house. I'd say it was a yet superior house to the one on Hazel Drive, but I was less perturbed when one day I found a sibling to the Juniper house ( a semi-twin but in reverse) on East 108th dtreet happily remaining among the living.

These photos are of the original Wade Park Allotment house that would be sacrificed for the new and rather bland Cleveland Institute of Music dormitory. It's not only in a Historic District on the National Register but in a Cleveland Historic District, which should be more significant. No one here has responded to my inquiry about what was said at the last Landmarks Commission about this property? The Cleveland District was specifically extended beyond Magnolia Drive to include this property. Houses in the SECOND photo to the left relatively new fraternities which replaced two adjoining mansions that had been a fraternity and a sorority that had been destroyed in a fire. In other words, the threatened house, in this case, is the historic one. The newer house on Magnolia is ZBT, which moved there when their house on Belflower was to be demolished - another of the original Wade Park houses.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
In Chicago last fall I noted every construction project allowed pedestrians a sidewalk. Also, I didn't see a single push-button "walk" signal. I was in many districts.

Would have been slightly more interesting if restoration would have gone back to ORIGINAL dates, but I realize trying to duplicate those would require still more time and moneys, so I'm thrilled the Beaux-Arts look of the '20s will one more grace this section of The Avenue..... When is project completion currently anticipated?

This project just expands the grouping of new construction all the way down East 128th Street. Itgets further into the old neighborhood, ehich I think is good. I'm tired of people saying andd writing about how bad the neighborhoods are around Univ. Circle....

The land between Duck Iskand and the rest of Tremont is sort of a bummer too - small as it is. Even that single parking lot on West 25th in Ohio City on the west side of the street distrupts the flow of shops.

The Clinic does have many buildings that pretty much go to the sidewalk.

Does anyone know what happened at the Landmark Commission meeting regarding the proposed demolition of the brick house that's within the District. Respect for a house like that is exactly what the Commission should be all about.

I suppose the medical school's roof's deep overhang (graceful but extraneous) on all four sides, contributes to the aesthetic need for space around the building. No, in that respect the building is not so urban.

Hawken has a substantial spread of facilities and acreage in Chester Township. They appear to have a very wealthy endowment. Unless the County's website is inaccurate, the three-floor former mansion on Magnolia alone was sold last year for a huge sum.

So what was said about the nice brick house on Hazel? The headline only mentions the new bldg. - doesn't mention it would require the demolition of one of the few remaining Wade Park Allotment residences, which music students have long used (I always hear music coming from it). The Landmark District was specifically extended south of Magnolia Drive tobincludevthat house. Disgusting!

Why would all demos come to a halt? Even though it's so far north, could this possibly be one of the "seven" apartment houses existing or planned for the Euclid/Chester/East 107th Street vicinity?

I feel that new Landmark designation was instrumental in Mt. Zion's changing their plans to demolish their mansion and I'd like to think then that the Landmark status means something here. Are you positive about the border? I thought it may only go down to the south side of Magnolia. I know the beautiful house that was sacrificed for the Alumni House expansion was definitely not in the District.- Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Demolishing still another of the original Wade Park Allotment residences is disgusting. It's a real shame that block was not included in the Cleveland Historic District (I assume it wasn't)!- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
The large Centric Apartments complex, just to the west of Little Italy, has some walls of wood with grain showing. At least that's what they looks like.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Never mind; I just Googled "mass timber" and therw they were! Striking!- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Can someone please post a photo of a large building, such as a sizable apartment house, with use of this material? I can't picture a multu-story building of "mass timber."- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News

If someone already responded to this inquiry I missed it. I had thought the boutique hotel construction on W. 25th had begun, but now it looks like it was only for a new parking lot? Could that be true? Is the hotel caput?- Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Good. I was afraid it is gone for good. Needs a sign on former storefront. - Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
