  1. I love books :) They are such nice, gentile things.....
  2. Actually it is. Again, where is the local record store? ^In the wonderland of Louisville where everything is weird. But you knew that already didn't you? You've become quite the doomsayer troll and I dare say I prefer it to your cartographic sociology lessons. Jeffery's just fine, Seth. He's done way more for Dayton than anyone else here has, and if he wants to disown the 5+ years of awesome work he has done for the city, it's his choice. Personally, I am still going to enjoy those "sociology lessons", especially since the ones on Trotwood are the reason why I got started on online foruming in the first place :) Sure, I miss the old Jeffery like everyone else does, but if this is what he wants to become, I can't do anything to stop it. Emotions are a personal choice.

Agree! This is great news! Let's get their name off of this thread too! Tru Dat!!!! This is the best news I've heard in a long time. Screw Bill-O :):):):):) (and I hope he doesn't like it ;))

Dang. Looking through this thread, I can see this demolition was a real loss. This school was beatiful, except that ugly cafeteria add-on. I loved the art deco mixed with the traditional early 1900's school building feel.
  8. Shedd Aquarium is a must-see, too. Otherwise, just take some time to stroll through downtown. It's truly amazing. Navy Pier does hvae a great view of the city looking back from its tip, so I would visit.

"Insane" was certainly the operative concept for all that. The lightbulb finally came on and I realized this is just the internet and I was wasting a lot of time & effort on all that Dayton crap here and on that blog I had, wasting it on a place I don't like very much. Which is pretty crazy when you think about it. So I'm back to what I was in 2004, an occasional poster here. Your threads were amazing. You Trotwood threads were what got me hooked on this site in the first place :)
  11. Very nice thread.
  12. Living between Cincy and Dayton with only an antennae TV (Monroe), we got both station sets quite clearly with our antennae pointed toward Cincy. My parents watched Cincy news, I watched Dayton news, and since I spent a lot of time in and around Dayton as a kid, I never really liked to watch Cincy news because I had no clue where the stuff they were talking about was. With Dayton news, I always knew what they were talking about in general, and it seemed to cover more Butler/Warren while Cincy focused on NKY and east of the city, which I knew little to nothing about. Now I know better, but Channel 2 is still my fav. :) (yes, sometimes I still watch "the local trash" at 5)
  13. Throw Rhine McLin and basically anyone connected to GM or Delphi into the mix, as well.
  14. I love this thread. Maybe it's just an odd spurt of good luck, or maybe it's a trend. Only time will tell :)

  18. I'll talk Dayton. Best (IMO)- Main, gives Dayton a real "big city" feel. Fifth, Harvard ave., and Third also get honorable mentions. Worst- in the city proper, the award has to go to Brandt for just being dull. For the metro area, the cake goes to 725.

I have to give a speech on this subject in class tommorow. This thread will be great to use!!!!!
  21. ^Nice. We need it. Anyways, I love this comment from the comment board below the story: @Fred & Hoss - This treatment is not offered at local hospitals. I'm pretty sure it isn't offered anywhere in Ohio. They're not taking business away from area hospitals, they're adding to the health care that is available in Montgomery County. It's no wonder people talk bad about the Dayton area. You people wouldn't know good news if it bit you in the ***.
