Okay, I've never been to the short north (hard to believe since I only live a little over an hour away from it), and I've been to German Village pleanty of times, but what should I see in about a month or so when it's spring? Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
^^ Nice Pop. Density list, KJP. Where did you get it? Honestly, I wonder why I don't see Pop. Density lists more often, because it should seem like the determining factor for these type of decisions. I guess politicians disagree?

Butler County Growth
If anyone cares.... (by the way, this is my 99th post  ) Friday, February 20, 2009 Butler County cuts economic development department Dayton Business Journal - by Jon Newberry DBJ Contributor Butler Co. has eliminated its three-person economic development department as a cost-cutting measure to help close a $7 million budget shortfall. Bruce Coughlin, the county’s economic development director, said functions are being shifted to the department of development, which overseas building and zoning, community development and planning. The decision to cut the economic development department was made two weeks ago. Other departments, including water and sewer and records also were affected, Coughlin said. Mike Juengling, director of development, said his staff is currently working on transitioning the economic development functions. “We are in the process of finding out the status of everything that’s going on.” Coughlin said he’ll be looking for a new job. UrbanOhio Forum on the go
Samsung phone with Verizon. I just got it a couple of months ago. Great reception, and I can get on the internet anywhere, but it really doesn't work with this forum.

UrbanOhio Forum on the go
Yeah, I go on here all the time with my smartphone, but I can't post from it. Also puts up a fight if I try to look at a photo thread. I also can't post at city-data from it but I can post at other forums. What's up with that? Does my phone just hate cities? (However, I should mention that I set up my other forum accounts off of my phone)

Gary
I think that's true for all "ghettos". It applies around Dayton, at least.

Gary
Gotta love Gary! (followed the link from the Dayton thread and this is absolutely stunning. It really makes me appreciate the Gem city) However, for a city that in its heyday had about 200,000 people (or so....?), I'm suprised it's not more dense. Great shots!

McPherson Town (Dayton)
Hell, I don't think that people living within TEN miles of the city know about these neighborhoods.

Dayton: Downtown Hockey Arena
I could see the arena working better over by the Dragons too, C-dawg, and I would be estatic if they would retrofit one of the Mendelson/GM buildings into an arena (If such things can be done), but it would drive the price sky high because the infastructure is not in place like at Dave Hall. However, it probably would be a good idea to have a '"real" parking garage for the dragons, and with a hockey arena in that location, that would probably happen. So, maybe we can get ourselves an NBA team (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha) and do that someday.

John Boehner
I would probably like him if he actually supported throwing pork at Ohio, but I'm sure that he would rather throw pork at Texas along with the rest of the Bush cronies. That's what bugs me about him.

John Boehner
I don't like John Boehner. How about you? (sorry, I'll get articles later)

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
God, I HATE BOEHNER!!!!! Why don't we create a thread dedicated to all of the stupid things he does? In fact, I think I'll do that, because not supporting this is digusting.

McPherson Town (Dayton)
Definitely one of Dayton's best neighborhoods. Since it is its own little island, bound by 75 and the Miami river, its a unique environment in town. Awesome Thread!

Downtown Dayton S of 3rd: Ludlow Street Rephotography
^^^ Amusing thought, Ink. It does make you wonder waht this new arena, if built, will do to the area. Great Post, Jeffery!

Dayton: Downtown Hockey Arena
Honestly, it's not a bad idea, and we could actually use it, especially if it's tied into the Convention Center so that it can host larger events. Most suburbians that this will draw in won't care whether the building is aesthetically pleasing, but they will care about parking, nearby restraunts, etc., and it really seems like an ideal location with the underutulized (and way ugly) transportation center parking garage located right there and the oregon district and main street restaurants within a couple blocks. A lot of the "extras" that would be required to build this in a cornfield are already in place, and it will also bring down about 6,000 people a night for about 30 or so times. Add in the fact that each of these individuals will spend about $30 each, and you get a total of about $600,000 in revenue flowing to the center city. If we could convince these people to stick around for a little while, that amount could expand rapidly.

Pennsylvania!
Awesone pics! It's neat to see a lot of the New England influence in the more eastern towns.
