An introductions thread...
Alright, I'll jump in on this.... I'm Andy, and I'm 22 years old. I was born and raised in Wyoming, an inner suburb in North Central Cincinnati (for those of you who don't know). I'm currently finishing my bachelor's in both Computer Science and Mathematics at Rose-Hulman, a small but excellent engineering school in Terre Haute, IN. The school is great, but Terre Haute sucks. I'm glad that I'll be done in a few weeks (only 16 class days left!). As I'm graduating in May, I've been fortunate enough to have found employment in the Chicago area. I'll be working as a security consultant; basically, I'll get paid to break into computer systems to figure out where the holes are. I've found an excellent apartment in Lincoln Park, so I'll be moving off to there very soon. Oh yeah, and I'm a huge sports nut. My favorite teams are, of course, the Bengals (hence the username), the Reds, and the Bearcats.

You do what people do in Chicago or Boston with neighborhood parks.... park a little farther away, then walk. Or take the bus. Maybe it is more idealism than reality, but hell, this is an online forum, I'm allowed to be idealistic!- Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
I've always been a firm supporter of the Broadway Commons site... I still think they made a mistake. I'd rather have no parking in the immediate vicinity than have a stadium in a sea of parking on valuable riverfront land, separated from downtown by an entrenched freeway.- Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°

Actually, I looked it up. Looks like Crescentville Rd is the county line. Here you go: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=250&addtohistory=&address=princeton+pike+at+kemper+road&city=cincinnati&state=oh&zipcode=&submit=Get+Map- Cincinnati: Population Trends
Well, I guess you could say that Tri-County is in Hamilton, Butler, and Warren counties... hence the name. But if you just mean the mall, then I believe it is actually in Hamilton county. I think Butler starts not even 200 yards north of the mall.- Cincinnati: Population Trends
Well, I'm not helping any, as I live in Hamilton County but I'm leaving in May....- Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
It's going to take a lot of work to turn around the West End. The good news is that there are still good residents there who are fighting for the life of their neighborhood. The bad news is that these residents are threatened and vandalized and shot at, and the FBI doesn't seem to be helping any. Even if they get some indictments through the grand jury, will it have any effect?- Cincinnati: Clifton - 3412 Clifton Ave
I haven't been down there in a while... this is right behind the skyline, right?- Cincinnati Lunken Airport

I still don't see how this would work, despite hearing it before. A bridge to the east would make it very difficult to link to FWW without some very treacherous ramps and some difficult construction.- Cincinnati: Retail News

Now that I'm moving to Chicago, I've been looking forward to the opportunity to see Reds games at Wrigley. I'm not totally sure I'm gonna want to go anymore though, as I'll probably get laughed out of the park. Course I've been a Bengals fan all my life, so I'm used to it. Doesn't mean it still doesn't bother me.- Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame
I remember thinking during the past season, even before all of the firesale trades, that as the Bengals become less Bengal-like, the Reds were becoming Bengal-like. The organization makes no plans for the future, and their personnel decisions are so poor that they could make millions on a seminar on how not to run a baseball team.- Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame
Yup, saw that today. Can you believe it? After all they hype about GABP being done on budget and on time unlike PBS, it turns out it really wasn't totally done on time or budget. At least it's not taking taxpayer $$$ anymore...- Western Hamilton County growth issues
Double post from SSP. If you don't like it, complain to your moderator :crack: Residents decry 'big box' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vow referendum if rezoning approved By Reid Forgrave The Cincinnati Enquirer (1/28/04) GREEN TWP. - Residents in homes and condominiums off Harrison Avenue in this western Hamilton County community are stepping up opposition to a zoning change for a proposed 75,000-square-foot retail "big box" development that would abut their properties. Some 50 residents at a Green Township meeting Monday night said that if the zoning change, from residential to commercial, makes it through the approval process, they will obtain thousands of signatures to put a referendum on the ballot that would stop it. "We all know this property is going to be developed; we just want it to be done in a way that's compatible with the community," said Jerry Ferguson, president of the Chateau Lakes View Condominium Association. http://www.cincinnati.com- Dayton: Reynolds and Reynolds building to be demolished, clock tower to be moved
