2010 Gubernatorial Election
Just another confirmation the only place in Ohio to visit is the Cleveland area.....what a joke, shame, and a sham.

Cleveland: University Hospitals Expansion (University Circle)
ClevelandOhio, I agree with you 150%. I don't think it has anything to do with anyone taking the companies investments for granted. From what I have observed it's a Cleveland thing to find something to complain about no matter what. It's as if they can not see the forest for the trees. It's really depressing.

Cleveland: Keeping its entertainment districts safe & vibrant
^^Awesome Post^^ Welcome to the Cleve and this site...

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
It's different, cool and promising...of course it's attacked left and right. People in Cleveland who are actually doing something must be completely aggravated by the constant negative "Heathers"....Oh Ick!

Cleveland: Marketing the City
It's amazing and sad how people on this forum disregard efforts like this campaign without any thought. Why don't you check it out thoroughly before you say it sucks. I mean I think hundreds of professional people in the industry have just a bit more knowledge of what could work. It really brings down the credibility of this site when you constantly read this type of crap. I mean as soon as you hear "ick"? Please, what are you a sophmore at St Joe's?

Cleveland: Polish Restaurants for a Visitor.
Spinach? I'm not the expert but doubt this is near authentic. Potatoe and cheese with sour cream and onion on the side seems most traditional, and fried in a pan too.

Cleveland: Polish Restaurants for a Visitor.
Hts121...yes that's it, very large dark brown colored building. The location is kind of sketchy but the parking lot is always patroled. It's a little sad because when your inside it's like being in another world and you can imagine what the neighborhood must have been like years ago. I took my family from California there and it's one of the things they still talk about today, we had a blast and the food was really awesome.

Cleveland: Polish Restaurants for a Visitor.
It's called Sterle's Slovenian Country House on E 55th Street and it's a great place. Friday nights are good but Saturday nights are better for music. If you like a place that is like a mini Octoberfest then you will like this place big time. Very unique and awesome food.

Cleveland & Akron Inter-City Relations
Who cares, this is a silly question. I think most people in Cleveland and Akron could care less about the other city for the most part. As a former Clevelandar with mucho family still in the area, I don't think Akron was ever mentioned except when perhaps talking about Devo, Chrissie Hynde or LeBum.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
The weather thing really is an incrediby stupid reason for saying a city sucks. Many of the most amazing cities of the world have very similar weather as Cleveland or worse. If the DBags who put these lists together were ever put on the spot to justify their findings they would fall like the little twits they seem to be.

Suggestions for a night out in Cleveland's Little Italy?
C'mon getting a better meal at Olive Garden? Trattoria has some really good food. In fact we had some really great food there on several occasions. Especially an antipasto appetizer that was one of the best I have seen anywhere. It also has some good ambience that they can really improve on down the road hopefully. We went there several times and just had some vino and appetizers and it was a blast.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
HP used to be good and respected but many people are finding it increasingly full of gargbage journalism like this wacked out piece. I gave up on them about a year ago and will never visit that site again.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
This is completely off base per the conversation but I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed how old Lebron looks for his age. I mean to me he has really aged and does not look like a fresh 25 year old. Honestly Kobe looks younger. I'm not trying to be mean or look for things to make him look bad but I think he's going to reach his peak way before any of his peers. Anyway just a thought, plus I think he's a total D$Ck for how he handled things and I'm glad he's gone. He's one empty soul and hope he never wears a ring, anywhere.

Cleveland: MOCA
It's different, challenging, thought provoking, new, not ordinary, or practical or even the absolute design but people will of course go on the attack.
-
Cleveland: Slavic Village Velodrome
Why wouldn't that be considered "on the right track"? Good for them, at least their doing something versus sitting on their rear ends doing nothing for the city.

Cleveland: ParkWorks
This Ann Zoller is absolutely amazing and thankfully she is in Cleveland. I agree 100% with her philosophy in every way. Having great public spaces is crucial and not so much for people already in Cleveland but to attract new people who will automatically be drawn to a place like a completely revamped Public Square. When I bring people there now they are completely unimpressed and hardly realize they are in the main square of Cleveland. Go to any great city and you will see multitudes of people congregating around an awesome public space which in turn will spurn the development others think should come first. I hope she can convince the powers that be and raise the necessary funds so this can go forward. It's amazing what one person can do for a city. She is a true local gem.

Young professional relocating to Cleveland
I would second Tremont Place Lofts if you can get in there. It's a great historice site but with very updated modern interiors and lots of other amenities on site and in a great walkable neighborhood with tons of restaurants, bars etc.

Looking to find the best hood in/around CLE
Little Italy is perfect, no better alternative. Urban, safe, close to massive culture and transit.

Low cost extended stay rooms in Cleveland
Try the Tremont Place Lofts which have furnished apartments for daily, weekly or monthly rates. It's located in the Tremont neighborhood which is super close to downtown and just as affordable and even cheaper than most hotels and plus it's in a great area. I stay there all the time and love it.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Lebron's performance and his behaviour really demand an explanation because it's not sitting well at all, and it's completely unacceptable. Even if it's Brown (and I do think he needs to go) it's still unaccpetable for LeBron to put in such a pathetic performance. I mean he should fight 150% to win no matter what the issue and he clearly did not do that last night. To be paid the crazy amount of money he gets and not put in a brilliant effort is unthinkable and really an embarrasment to the entire NBA. My opinion of Lebron, and his ability, has been gradually sliding for a while now. It's almost too stressful to have him on the Cavs, everything is about Lebron versus the entire team. I am actually ok if he leaves.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Dan B..I agree, the fairweather fans are really annoying. I don't buy the "Cleveland fans are naturally pessimistic...BS! Have some faith no matter what. This is an elite team and can take the championship without a doubt.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Gottaplan.. Gettaclue, I don't live in Ohio but I know this issue has been on the Ohio plate of voting issues for Years so not sure where you're coming from that it was crammed down anyone's throat. I think the voting public had a long enough time to think this through and don't just blame it on a tough ecomony.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Wow These bus shelter/art installations are completely awesome and I agree that they fit perfectly into the charachter of DS. I say congratulations to the people who are making things happen in this neighborhood. They obviously are not worried and prepared to take on critics by installing these. The video link on the architects site explains what they were thinking when they came up with the design. Truly makes a big statement. I can't wait to see what's next for this area.
