The Phase II signage is now up, "opening in 2014" and including new student housing. Here's a quick snap from a few minutes ago:

FYI, Chipotle is now doing staff training. I stopped in a few minutes ago after seeing the lights on while walking past and the manager informed me that they would be opening on June 26!

Looks like the damage mustn't have been too severe: the B&N has reopened this morning (with the exception of the trade books area). http://thedaily.case.edu/news/?p=8325

I managed to get in touch with someone at MRN this morning at a number (216-589-1111) provided by UCI. There is, in fact, a list of prospective renters which I added my name to. According to the woman I spoke with, leasing should begin by the end of March or early April, and a demo unit should be available around the same time. Hopefully this info can help out anyone else interested in leasing at Uptown as well.

Does anyone have contact information for the Uptown / MRN leasing office? I sent an email to the address on the non-functional website, but haven't heard anything back. Edit: To clarify, I'm interested in the apartments, not the retail space. Thanks to those who've offered suggestions so far—I'll follow them up tomorrow! :-)

Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
This thing was supposed to be built years ago... but the city lost their federal money for the project after choosing the same incompetent contractor that got every job in the city for years under previous mayors caused delays. I will be extremely happy when the project is completed and I can actually drive down Front Street without waiting for two or more trains almost every time. Of course, seeing some new development in the area would also be great - right now, it consists of some ugly light industrial and abandoned car dealerships and fast food places.
