Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I think there is a very good chance we'll be in the playoffs; it's just that the Detroit series did something to me, my roommate, and undoubtedly a lot of fans. It made us somewhat more unengaged overall, less devoted. I should be excited, I should be talking about it the team more. Hell, I'm seeing the Sox game this Thursday, yet am not really thinking about it all that much. It's almost like an afterthought. That Detroit series put me in a 'meh' mood. The heart just isn't in it enough. However, I'm sure that'll change come playoffs.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Ever since that one 4-game Detroit sweep (where we were started 3 games behind) it's been hard to build much emotion. I'm glad they're so close in the division and wildcard, but that series really took a toll on my interest. I still watch or listen to almost every game...but it's definitely not the same. And f Chris Perez!

Why are young people driving less?
With what college and most grad schools cost, I don't think we have too many Van Wilders these days. These kids aren't taking on 6-figure debts because they enjoy keg stands

Why are young people driving less?
^^I'm sure there is increasing disillusionment, as kids have more access to news than in prior generations. Look at Sanford - re-elected despite being A COMPLETE LUNATIC. Spitzer - how on earth was his career resurrected. Weiner - just a punchline at this point, yet his career aspirations can be salvaged in a year or two, and we all know it. Kwame - among the worst of the worst. The entire Bush administration - responsible for the worst foreign policy decision in American history (or at least up there with the Filipino genocide), yet they're comfortably retired. EVen Clinton - cigar and sexual harrasment if not abuse anyone? It goes on and on and on and on and on and on on on on on on on on. The politicians are no better than the Simpsons' characters. They're either corrupt (think Richard Daley) or utterly inept (think Frank Jackson), and so few of them appear to be anything more than selfish sociopaths. How can anyone idealize these monsters?

Ohio & National Intercity Bus Discussion
A few observations from a regular user: Catching the megabus outside Chicago's Union station is sheer pandemonium. Multiple buses without destinations arriving concurrently is a pure chaos at night. Very third world-like. Catching the megabus at Stephanie Tubbs in Cleveland at night had some issues. First, at 1am to Chicago it feels dangerous. Isolated. Exposed. Just not right. Second, the transit center is locked unless you ask the transit officer to open it. However, he is not always there to open it. So what's the f'ing point. Third, according to the transit officer the Steph Tubbs center isn't permanent yet. On a 3 month probation period. Fourth, is city tap really the closest bar open after 11? F that.

Why are young people driving less?
I thought we were just talking about new cars, at least since that article was posted earlier today. My point is the new car market is f'ed in terms of millennial consumers, since the vehicles are too expensive and the idea of integrating smart phone features is just retarded.

Why are young people driving less?
I can't imagine buying or leasing a new car if you make less, and that is what car companies need to appreciate with their new models
-
Why are young people driving less?
What a stupid concept. An UNBELIEVABLY stupid concept. Millenials are uninterested in cars for many reasons, mostly financial along with a renewed interest in urban living, public transportation, and not having a family with kids until you're out of school (late 20s) and working for some time (perhaps mid 30s). And that's IF you can find work that pays over $40 thousand. Who has ever complained that cars don't communicate to us in the same way as a smart phone. It looks Volkwagen just wants an excuse to utilize the word "synergy" in their marketing presentations and campaigns. Guess what, making cars substantially more expensive probably isn't the right direction. All these bells and whistles just scream failure.

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel ran for US Senate.
I just don't understand how Bruce could have failed so badly with his son. It wasn't for a lack of trying; his kid is just an empty-headed, lying, sack of worthlessness.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
My dad and I were trying to figure out the Plain Dealer e-version all weekend. It is inconceivable something this poorly developed could be released, and is overall a huge shame for the city and region.

Fitworks closing blows, even if it is a smaller brach. I don't particularly see a blue lining here

Chicago: Developments and News
That's nuts; my girlfriend lives in a really nice huge studio (or something in between a studio and one-bed) in Streeterville, and it's only $1625. not much of a difference. Ashland/Division is a cool area - lots of fun restaurants and bars (and a cool Wiccan book store, I believe) - but that triangle definitely has some funny characters. Plus there's still some grit there and a lack of upscale stuff. I'm sure occupancy will be 100%; it just mistifies me why some people accept those prices. Then again, I guess walking distance to Porn & Chicken night at Evil Olive is a big plus. Saves a cab ride.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
That Walgreens brings in a ton of people who aren't residents of the area. It is an attraction unto itself. The rotunda seems like a good location for all those CSU kids who live up there to get food anyhow. Put in a sushi bar as well. A coffee shop. Regular wine and beer tastings. If they pretty up the interior with restorations similar to the Walgreens project, it will be a draw from those both within walking and also driving distance.

Google image the Walgreens in Wicker Park, Chicago. Same idea, somewhat similar structure, and now a huge attraction. Cleveland has enough restaurants and pubs; a grocery store at the rotunda would work.

EASILY the most important series of the season so far for any team. I am excited! .....trying not to be pessimistic too, but do the Tigers even know how to lose anymore?

Are subscribers who already bought earlier annual subscriptions getting pro rata'd refunds. My parents have no interest in an e-version, and it boils my blood thinking they are bring ripped off, paying for a good they don't want.

Ohio & National Intercity Bus Discussion
Hmm, I just bought Megabus tickets for August. It says I arrive at the Stephanie Tubbs Center, but depart on West 3rd. Is that just an error or am I calling customer service for clarification. EDIT: Never mind, they just screwed up the departure tickets. It's all at the transit center.
