  1. Wow, between the backwards first "R" and the faded second "R", that insignia looks completely bush league
  2. Meaningless.
  3. That's not exactly true. Pilsen and Little Village definitely look or feel nothing like Lakeview or Lincoln Park. Uptown and Bucktown feel completely different. Humboldt Park and Hyde Park are very very different with unique populations, hot spots, rough areas and momentum. Not to mention comparing the majority of neighborhoods in the Southside to the North/downtown West. And there are still places were mostly Spanish, Polish and Mandarin/Vietnamese are spoken. Different areas, different universes.
  4. Well, that was a worthless press conference. I can't believe I wasted my computer's speaker for that rubbish.

Wasn't there a second Corkys at one time?

Running the googles map off the actual browswer doesn't work nearly as smoothly.

Apple has betrayed the shareholders and consumers with this Apple Maps garbage. This crap never should have been released, and the lack of Google Maps is reason enough to stay with Android. Why would anyone bother with a smart phone that ignores all the location and transit data compiled by Google. An utter shock how badly Apple dropped the ball here. Steve Jobs would have never okayed this $hit!!!!

Pet Peeve these days is: DC Comics' New 52 relaunch. While there are some strong titles - Animal Man in particular - DC had utterly butchered characters' histories and the chronologies make no sense. Not to mention the bizarre treatment of virtually every major female character, be it oversexualization or needless and confusing retconning. What a slap to the face to comics' fans.
  9. I had a lot of fun in Barfly over the years. It's a shame it's closed.

Desperation by King. Really a terrible book, but I might as well finish what I started.

In no universe does Modell deserve a place in the Hall of Fame. He needlessly and surreptitiously destroyed millions of Ohioans' hearts in a hideous, unethical manner. I don't know if the damage was permanent, but when you look at the Browns of the last 13 years, it's evident that this is the team in name only. Just prolonged misery thanks to big Art.
  12. That entire area is transformed. Speechless.
  13. At least it's not as offensive as the IS SHARON REED LEBRON'S BABY MAMA headline and story. I mean, the PD/cleveland.com should have apologized to Sharon, Lebron, their families, and all readers of the PD/cleveland.com. Pulling it the next day wasn't remotely enough. For that to be a story is the single most offensive thing this rag has ever produced.
  14. My parents live there (a five minute walk to the course), and they openly loathe the idea of more retail, regardless of it being high end, with some concerns of low income housing as well.
  15. Lots of families live in the area; it's a great neighborhood.
  16. Guys, it's just a store closing. This shouldn't be that big a deal to anyone beyond the owner and employees, and it seems she has quite a bit on her plate as it is. It's also not a reflection of Cleveland's retail scene, as evident with there still being some quality stores in Tower City. It's not like Trader Joes or Macy's is using this closing as justification for not having a downtown prescense. Stop all this over-dramatization. You'd think the Cleveland Clinic was closing.

  18. Nah, people were just being oversensitive here.
  19. I killed some time at the Barnes &Noble there on Saturday. Obviously it's limited due to it being primarily a college book store, but there were a surprising number of "normal bookstore" books too, plus a coffee shop and an oddly underutilized second floor. It's not a bad place to kill time
  20. Meanwhile I'm right now waiting for the Cleveland megabus outside Chicago Union Station. You guys should see the people here; it's a complete circus. Megabus certainly has changed in the past five years.

Okay, so after playing around with the home page off and on today, I realize that it is a terrible interface and I was way off saying otherwise. What a confusing mess.
  22. So what do you guys think? It's certainly very different. Frankly, I don't mind it though it's going to take some getting used to. The navigation menu is a nice touch too.
