Big fan of Logan Square, especially Longman Eagle for brunch. ...and hipster sightings are a draw there. On Sunday I saw this dude there in tight short shorts, a tucked-in button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a face scowling with pretension. And then you look at this Amazon next to him and....well....it beats skinny jeans and a man scarf.

Downtown (and I'm only referring to downtown locations) Cheesecake factories are extremely popular with low income households (presumably inner ring locals who generally wouldn't come downtown for meals), high schoolers who have prom/formal nearby, tourists with families, and internationals. You put one in Public Square and it's not going to have any detrimental effect to the city. LOLA will be fine. edit: won't happen again, mr sImon

Frankly, gay bars are more enjoyable than non gay bars, even/especially for straight guys. There are fewer d-bags, everyone is more laid back, no one is staring at your (female) date/glaring at you, better drink and food service, more in shape people, fewer chances for violent altercarions, etc.

Ennis writes some great stuff in general - Hellblazer, Unknown Soldier, the Kevin saga in the Authority (far and away my favorite series) - but what happened to Mark Millar? Nemesis and Superior....were so lame. Also, Alan Moore's work on Supreme defies description. I mean, how to you even explain what he did with that series. Talk about making a mediocre series into something truly unique. And then there is Neonomicon. Try to explain that one to your 18 year old nephew. I still dont know what to think.
