Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Had lunch at Chinatos on Monday. Food was fine, hostess a bit cold, bus boy very good with constant refilling bread/water, server a nice kid.

Whatcha Reading?
Rereading Kingdom Come. If DC made a direct adaptation, even animated, it would be huge!

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
That is probably true, but the train gets unsavory characters too. For instance, on Monday late morning the Shaker rapid occupants got to witness a piece of trash endlessly yelling at an elderly couple for saying 'excuse me' as they entered, and then his swinging his bike in their direction as he got off a few stops later. Point : there are $hitheads everywhere.

Westlake: Crocker Park
A strong region depends on a strong core. AG and Eaton leaving the city (or was AG inner ring) do not benefit Cleveland whatsoever. New casinos and restaurants and residents are nice but they don't even come close to the importance of decent to well paying jobs in the core city. Musical chairs with jobs hurts the city as a whole unless they land downtown.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
I just had a very entertaining time at the casino, though frankly I didn't quite understand the machines all that much. Not that it mattered much or I gave much effort to learning the rules - it was just fun and everything looked flashy but not tacky. Unrelated, but good lord is the Galleria quiet. The only thing you can hear is the air, escalators, and construction guys on end. Everyone else is whispering

Chicago weekend trip suggestions
Been at Edgewater beach all day. That and Montrose beach are far more relaxing than North. Some great restaurants along Broadway too.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Though I don't blame Cleveland fans for not wanting to support those Dolan goofs, it is refreshed hearing a ballplayer not censor himself and be overly diplomatic. I don't agree with him, but I do respect his speaking his mind despite the potential fallout

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
The Dolans adversarial relationship to Indians' fans/the city itself cannot help either. Compare their attitude to Gilbert, and you'll see why Cavs fans support such a weak team.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Other than Robbie, I don't recall many quality free agents coming here during the 455, so I don't buy the attendance argument. And the weather is comprable to half of the other MLB teams' cities. Quality free agents dont come here because the owner can't or won't match other teams' offers in conjunction with some stigma against the organization and city (think Clemens in the late 80s when we recruited him). Perceived Cleveland sports curses can't help when players want to win championships either.

US Economy: News & Discussion
The Greeks have no leverage over the EU. What do they think is going to happen if they reject the EU's conditions. The European Union is a nonsensical entity to begin with. This situation just validates the obvious.

Gonna be there next Monday mid day! Cannot wait!!

Lakewood: Development and News
I've never been to the theater but have driven and walked past it many times. While nothing is remotely as bad, personally, to me as the loss of Geauga Lake and Sea World (I was a bit young for the Flats), this one is certainly up there.

I can't see people potentially carrying $100s if not $1000s of cash on public transportation is a good idea. Do casinos give you the ability to wire money into some kind of e-account, where you can withdraw when you get there and deposit before going?

It was a good place for college debauchery. I used to get those massive dollar pizza slices there until they upped the price.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
I always liked those ads ending in 'Cleveland, we're closer than you think.' Catchy tune.

Is that really good news? I have no idea what the industry standard is for this kind of thing at this stage of a project?

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Well, I would certainly disagree that we have had an unbelievably schedule thus far - Rangers, Angels, White Sox, Oakland and Toronto certainly aren't slouches. In terms of fans showing up, we frankly don't want to support those boobs running the team. The Dolans gleefully have an adversarial relationship with Tribe fans and have made horrible decisions with trades and propsects without abandon, all the while bemoaning overpaying for the team and being in a "small market". All to the tune of, what, $40 million profit last year? Clearly attendance will go up if the team stays strong, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why Clevelanders are just burnt out by these idiots at the front desk.
