Five bucks says denny will be on the apprentice within the year
  2. More like having a dual masectomy because you had lumps in one breast and have a family history.
  3. I'll bet I'm in the minority here, but I have no interest in the County getting anything less but the bare minimum. For years, decades even, they've corrupted and abused us to no end in a culture of selfishness and criminal activity. A few token arrests and prosecutions, however high profile they may be, does nothing to ingratiate me from their collective guilt. Had Fitz cleaned house completly and make everyone reapply, that would be one thing. It would have lent some credibility to the workers, or at least the effort would win some brownie points. But he didn't and many of the same players, those who contributed or accepted this culture, are still there at the tax payers expense, minus a few fat boys on top. The Huntington is a reward they have not earned, as would be a new building. Let them stay in their current $hithole until a new generation of workers come in. Then we'll talk.
  4. But teens could get jobs those days with relative ease and at least contribute with gas and insurance. Today teenage unemployment is at catastrophic levels, and kids have to rely on their parents far more than during your and perhaps my generation. Something has to give There may be some psychological elements to it as well such as 9/11 soured many people to funding oil rich muslim countries. Anger towards previous generations (legacy costs...oy) and protesting by not buying cars. Perhaps the internet is a factor as cars are unnecessary for communication these days. Kids might be lazier today as well, more coddled, more supported.
  5. It's a money issue primarily. It's hard for teens to get jobs, gas is expensive, cars are expensive, parts are expensive, insurance is expensive, mom and dad have no money and can't always help out, disposable income is limited and goes instead to cell phones, etc etc.
  6. I'm surprised the writer was able to write that, seeing as how he was busy patting his own back with one hand, and pointing fingers at anyone else but the murderer with his other.
  7. Question: What exactly was Coral's plan for SS?

My mind definitely went somewhere else with that subject line:-)
  9. I wish someone would tell that to the boomers
  10. Same reason chicago is running our mart, i guess. Or perhaps they have unique resources and talents their ohio counterparts (if they even exist) can't match?

    The guy certainly is consistent.
  12. Potbellys hits the spot like nothing else (in a Chipotle kind of way), and that place is going to make crazy money. Just because it ain't Lolas or is located in one of them evil suburbs doesnt detract its popularity and drawing power. $4 for a delicious heated sub and a variety of delicious shakes, plus the interiors are always cool with wooden tables, tattered copies of books, sometimes a fireplace = a win for MH If
  13. That whole jobs, population growth, and momentum thing not doing it for you:) I think we have a lot to learn from Texas
  14. ^^hey kids, want to spend the day at the September 11th museum. What an asinine idea.

To buy any other computer beyond a mac is just foolish, at least for personal use. The lack of spyware and viruses, the fact that you can easily get 7 or 8 years on a mac alone make the system worth the premium price.
  16. Were there ever any lawsuits (crimimal? civil? administrative) over the whole Bruer tower fiasco? Towards the consultants? The commissioners? The county itself? The previous owner(s)? Anything at all like that (my gut says no)
  17. that was truly an amazing story. Not one of the city's finer moments
  18. Guns are not the issue alone; otherwise, Canadians would have twice the number of shootings as Americans. Bullying isn't the issue when you look at other countries, Russia in particular, and see there are just as many bullies but minus these responses. The real issue is that we are a very violent country with a lot of mentally ill people and no one knows what to do about it.
  19. Sounds like his parents weren't ozzy and harriet either.
  20. What exactly does it mean when the police say the school is locked down, which seems like the general practice during school shootings. Are the doors chained or something? Isn't that like trapping the prey just to get the predator, or is the term more metaphorical?
  21. Seems like solon keeps bleeding jobs, whether its musical chairs with its neighbors (so much for those no poaching pledges), leaving the region all together, or layoffs. What the hell is going on there - every week it's something
  22. That's so odd. The casino, at least in its opening night, is going to draw in an insane number of people in its own right. Why commingle the two
  23. You clearly don't know anything about the complexities of a mental illness and how it affects a family. Your lack of empathy surprises no one.
  24. I feel terrible for her brothers. I've been close friends with them for almost 20 years. The girl is mentally challenged and cannot take care of herself. She's always been troubled but not like this, nothing violent, never malicious at least wheh I was arround. A complete shock
  25. Little italy parking can be rough. Some nearby garages would be helpful.
