Cleveland Browns Discussion
Can someone explain this to me? http://www.cleveland.com/naymik/index.ssf/2012/01/the_cleveland_browns_stadium_i.html Cleveland Browns Stadium is about to put a big hit on the city: Mark Naymik "The city is allowed to use the stadium 8 days a year. The city wastes most of them, depriving itself of revenue that could be used to help maintain the stadium. The city should ask for more days and actually use them. Perhaps it's time to get the neighboring Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum or a concert promoter involved to hold big concerts." Maybe I am misreading something. The city spends $300 million to build this stadium, yet is only allowed to use it 8 times a year? How can I build something at my own expense but not be allowed to use it? How can I own something but not be allowed to use for that matter? Who then gets to make these decisions, Lerner? Maybe I'm just too tired - overdid the Dortmunders last night, folks - but I am a bit baffled by this.

I will be moving to Cleveland soon
Hey OP, you can't go wrong with Cedar/Fairmount. There's a great bakery at the little commercial district and you'll be walking (okay, jogging) distance from University Circle. Plus Night Town is a top 5 Cleveland gem.

Pet Peeves!
I really can't stand people celebrating anti-Valentines Day parties and never shutting up about it. It may have started off as somewhat clever, but now these parties are just so cliche and unoriginal - ooo, you hate Valentines Day. How brave! Hell, half the time these events are just dating mixers and 90% of the time the guests are just jealous of those having a nice Valentines Day. They're not fooling anyone.

Cleveland Water Department News and Discussions
All I know is that my parents have had some awful experiences with the Water Department in recent years, bad enough that it actually gets me furious when I think about it. I can't blame Westlake for wanting nothing to do with those incompetent $%$#s.

Mother of god it was less than $200 in 2006! And that's without any stops.

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
It certainly is a stark contrast to the endless, toothless lakefront and public square plans. When the Clinic says they're going to build, they're going to build.

US Economy: News & Discussion
And how does the 1% getting richer possibly do that. You think CEOs making even more money is remotely conducive to increasing employment? Name me one company where that happens and I'll name you a hundred where the inverse is true. Let me ask you this, should the rich even pay any taxes? Serious question. They'd have a lot more money to spend otherwise, which according to trickle down would result in a massive employment boom.

It seems like a lot of banks are hoarding money, and that is a huge detriment to employment.

Google Earth
Is there anything more addicting than Google Earth. As cool as it is on the computer to essentially be driving in Street View mode, I think the mobile application (at least for Androids) is even more entertaining, especially with the 3d buildings. I've been going all over University Circle and downtown the last hour at work - this 3d buildings feature is so COOL! Well worth the battery drain.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I'm not questioning RTA's motivations for the new transfer policy, but rather questioning the accuracy of their findings. For example, when comparing the 32x-->downtown in 2010 to 2011, the percentage increase is virtually meaningless if transfers to the Healthline count as separate rides. And so those numbers don't really tell us anything; that's why I was asking if these findings take into account the new policy, much like unemployment numbers factor in seasonal employment to give a "truer" statistic.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Again, and I hate to be that guy because good news is something that shouldn't be scorned, but how - if at all - are the newly required transfers in University Circle and other places taken into account? Are they considered two separate rides or one? If the former, then I consider this artificial inflation to be somewhat unethical.

Whatcha Reading?
I hear that. I was practically falling asleep reading Dresden Files 1. Not a hard read at all, just incredibly boring. After the first few books, however, I was starting to burn through them in no time at all. I really want to read the Ender's Game and Discworld sagas. I've got all of them on my kindle, just waiting to get started, though I've heard they both have pretty slow starts.

US Economy: News & Discussion
Well, it would give people more money to spend on goods and services, thus increasing employment. It's not like our so-called job creators are bothering to do that.
