Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Anyone else underwhelmed by the PD's coverage of the Med Mart since last week? You'd think they would have had a giant 12 page spread full of pictures, interviews, explanations, detailed tenants list, rumored tenants, goals, timeline, commentary on what this means to the region, linking it to Health Line and Hospitals, and some other overwhelmingly positive coverage. Instead we get...a couple blurbs, more or less. Heck, they could have had 20 pages, half on the MM and the other on the Convention Center with full explanations of each, designs, a history of the projects, a history of Cleveland Convention Centers in the past, yadda yadda. Nope.

Cities gotta raise revenue somehow and since tax levies keep failing, well, this is what we get

Governor John Kasich
On a lighter note, does anyone else here have a slight crush in his wife? She should join Mrs Obama's anti-obesity campaign.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Concerns with the tenant list is perfectly reasonable given the promises and controversies thus far with the project.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Some of the comments are fair - they've had a few years to secure some kind of interest from out-of-state organizations. I was hoping for some big names that aren't local

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
It was wrong for Kasich to have been invited and get the photo op; rather, Strickland should have been there. I would also question Mason's presence, considering the guy has close ties to the local corruption. I mean, why not give Dimora a shovel if you're giving one to Bill.

Is it replacing an already existing restaurant or filling up a vacancy?

So did Frank come out of hiding for today's ceremony? More importantly, did Mrs. Kasich show up.

Cleveland Area: American Greetings HQ relocation?
In all fairness ClevelandOhio, there are probably a lot of people who would prefer the suburban location.

Stiller has quite a few fun films. Along Came Polly, Dodgeball, the Ben Stiller Show (MTV and Fox versions), Meet the Parents, Something About Mary, Tropic Thunder, Greenberg, Mystery Men, and Keeping the Faith are all entertaining. I'm probably missing one or two other good ones.

Up-and-Coming Neighborhoods -- Any Progress?
Asiatown seems to have a ton of momentum, at least in turns of recognition and suburbian interest. That area is definitely doing it right

Cleveland: MOCA
I drove by there on Thursday night before the concert (yeeesh, why bother with contemporary crap, especially for that crowd), and Ive never been happier to see rubble on the ground. Plus there were various upright structures already in place

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
That would make for a damn fine front page article - I haven't even heard of half of those places, nor was I aware of their momentum other than Hough

Cleveland Heights-South Euclid: Oakwood Commons
Those bad boys are popping up everywhere (there's one in Eaton now too) The 'net said that AJ Wright was supposed to replace Borders at one point, but those stores are closing everywhere, so I dunno.

Cleveland Heights-South Euclid: Oakwood Commons
Didn't I read somewhere they found a tenant for the Severance Borders? Anyone know what that might be?

Cleveland Heights-South Euclid: Oakwood Commons
I'm still not sure what to think about this project - I guess it all depends on which tenants he can line up.
