  1. I didn't read this article as implicitly calling the RTA a racist organization - it's just giving us the numbers.
  2. Not like this will make a difference now, but it still felt good sending it to Mr. K and Beth Hansen "Dear Governor Kasich, For shame. Based on today's decision by the Federal Government and Mr. Lahood's announcement, I am now considering long-term options for moving my company out of the state. Your needlessly killing this rail project isn't the only reason, but it certainly indicates the direction of Ohio during your tenure, and that is not one I care to partake."
  3. I definitely have to disagree with you on both those points.

    So long ugly a$$ building
  5. Weren't there some rumblings about Cleveland lacking enough union hotels to host the DNC?

Ever since Miami (well, really Boston), the Cavs have seem completely deflated. I don't know what the problem is, but it's pretty damn upsetting as a fan.
  7. Nice commentary, EC. I'm planning on a Columbus run for a day trip this weekend but this snow is really a pain. It's one of those things where I don't really have to go out there (was planning on stopping by and seeing a few clients for informal pleasantries, maybe hit up Easton and High St afterwards), but not if it's snowing. Now if there were a train, then me and my kindle would be on it in a heartbeat.
  8. Well, I don't really know what the f the Lingerie Football League is, but I'm all for Cleveland having more events downtown
  9. All i know is I'm spending $350 (including $25 for one bag of luggage) to flight out to DC next week. I swear that's almost double what I spent a few years ago.
  10. I believe it's becoming a theater for improv comedy. There was that clevescene article talking about it a few weeks ago
  11. Okay, i must have misread the earlier posts. My bad
  12. Surprised to hear all the TC love. The physical structure is obviously impressive, and it's nice that it's not a ghost mall, but I'm a little surprised that its retail is also receiving praise.
  13. Tower city's retail impressed your friend?

    I'd say that's more florida

The girls in Phoenix are just knockouts - that's certainly a big reason that I'm fond of the city

The best part of tonight's game is that I can finally stop hearing about LBJ this and that. The way people are acting, you'd think it's Game 7 of the finals tonight.
  18. Well, you've got to give businesses what they want. There are so many (near) vacant blocks in downtown Cleveland...who is to say a sprawling campus would be impossible? I'm just speaking as a business owner here, not as someone who has any particular anti or pro campus mentality
  19. A racist lesbian bar? Now I've heard everything.
  20. Well, it's nice to see some positive press when we can get it. But... "In fact, during recovery employment actually fell by 0.1 percent in Greater Cleveland, the report stated..." "Many experts who follow the state's economy say that recent drops in Ohio's jobless rate are the result of an increase in discouraged workers who have given up looking for work because they believe finding a job is nearly impossible."

I decided to "challenge" myself and try out the Christ Clone and Left Behind series. I couldn't finish the first CC book, and I turned off LB somewhere in the middle of the 3rd. Those series are just excruciatingly bad - the quality of writing (especially for LB) is appalling. Forget the religious stuff, the books are just AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I've got about 1500+ books on my iphone and I've been reading on it since early '08. I'm usually hitting 2 books a week or so unless I'm really busy. I figure with the Kindle, I'll go even faster even though I won't have it everywhere I go. Personally, I prefer the stanza app.

I just got mine in the mail and boy is it it worth it. It really does have the appearance of a book and even feel of one if you get a leather case. Its internet is junk and text to speech a joke, but who cares. This is probably the best gift I've ever gotten.
  24. Mother of PEARL!
