Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I say it was false advertisement..ish because the bartender told me that get a small - and only one - shipment of PBRs once a week and it runs out very very fast. One of the draws of going there was the cheap beer, and I don't care for this kind of bait-and-switch tactic.

South Euclid: Cedar Center
Someone fancy restaurants there would be great. Retail stores - I dunno. Depends on what they sell. Residential - no way.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I hate to give a bad review, but I was very underwhelmed by that new Michael Symon restaurant B-Spot in Woodmere. It's a lot smaller than I would have thought, and I'm not crazy about the interior being openly connected to the Eaton Plaza mall (whatever it's called). I just had fries and a burger - nothing crazy - and...I don't know, it just didn't taste that good, and I REALLY didn't care for the sauces, in particular this awful chili ketchup. Worst of all, our bartender even admitted they virtually false advertise $1 PBRs, and everything else is at least 5 bucks (even domestics), which is definitely way too pricey for a burger joint. $5 for a bud light - come on, this isn't that kind of place. Afterwards, I went to Paladar (or is it Paladan/Paladin...who knows) for drinks. Now THAT is a nice joint, and our bartender was cool enough to give the three of us a free beer (split three ways), some kind of ale that I've never had. I think they charge for ice there - for some reason my drink was a dollar more than what the menu said - but I didn't complain, and I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. Cruzan Coconut on the rocks - that is going to be my drink there from now on!

"Comparing me to C. Thomas Howell is grounds for fighting. " Is it just me, or did he look more Indian than black in that movie?

Whitopia: A controversial view of sprawl
nice little anti-white, oversimplified and outright erroneous perspective on the problem, at least judging by the panels

AsiaTown Cleveland
Well, Little Italy is in University Cricle and there's plenty to do around there within half a mile or so. Asiatown is in a worse part of town and other than eat, I'm not sure if there is anything much to do in that area. If it weren't for those pictures, I would have never even guessed there was retail out there.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
What exactly is the point of this nonrefundable $300 thousand per month. Can we start putting these monthly payments in escrow until we figure out if we're even getting the damn thing??? I mean, MMPI must laughing its arse off right now. What the hell are we paying them for

Those comments are something else. The fact that some posters are actually complaining about developers building nice condos and apartments. Yeah....

Dubai: Developments and News
This whole Dubai situation is scary scary stuff, as it can REALLY be indicative of a collapsing commercial real estate market. We're not even over the residential collapse, and now banks and businesses have THIS to deal with:(

Tower City looks really nice in that shot

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I think some people here are overestimating the demand for this property - perhaps investment in Cleveland in general - and if someone is willing to put themselves at great financial risk for a wonderful-sounding project, then IMO it's worth certain concessions like a sprawling business complex. There's really not much more I can say about the topic.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I can't believe some of you guys are upset by this proposal. A tech center there would be AWESOME and if there's nothing wrong with wanting somewhere to park. If this group can get waivers or variances (whatever the word is) from the zoning laws, then what's the problem? I mean, better the project fold completely?

There is no way that's a real press release

Cleveland - East Side Neighborhoods
For a start up home, I don't think a home "with character", which honestly just sounds like a euphemism for "old", has to be a priority. And Lyndhurst is certainly growing more integrated - at least from the perspective of people I know in that community - if that even matters.

Question: Regarding, the $300,000/month that the taxpayers have been paying to the MMPI, is this refundable should the project fold?

Cleveland - East Side Neighborhoods
I would still consider Lyndhurst. There's nothing wrong with living in a safe, quiet neighborhood with few foreclosures and lots of families. You're 20+ minutes from downtown via the freeway, can go shopping at Beachwood Place and Legacy Village within in minutes of your house, and are within 20 minutes from Little Italy/University Circle/Chagrin Falls/Metroparks and so on.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I've been driving downtown a few times a week lately, and really, I can't justify taking a train or bus. It's only $3 to park (E13/Lakeside) and the time I save is stunning (several hours or so). Maybe RTA and City Hall could convince some of the lot owners to raise their rates, but seriously...3 bucks? That's just insane.

US Economy: News & Discussion
Companies have fewer costs due to all the layoffs and thus bigger profits. Not to mention that companies often purposely understate their earning forecasts. Not to mention our trade exports have been rock solid due to the falling dollar. Not to mention people still lack fiscal responsibility. And a whole ton of other reasons. That's why we're over 10000.

Cleveland - East Side Neighborhoods
I would recommend Lyndhurst, specifically the area sandwiched between Richmond/Brainard and Cedar/Mayfield, for a starter home. It's a quiet and safe community with attractive yet inexpensive homes. You're walking distance from Legacy Village and Beachwood Place, there is a nice park (Brainard Park), and you're right by 271. The only real drawback is the property taxes.
