  1. Oh I agree alcohol should be banned on all major airlines. And there should be some tested BAC limit pre-flight. It's just too tense an environment with these raving loons harassing and molesting passengers and crew. If they can't get on a flight without alcohol, then stay home.
  2. It's related since airlines condone this behavior by constantly allowing drunk or unstable passengers on board, permit abusive and confrontational conduct, overly serve alcohol, not compose and coordinate permanent bans, etc. How about alcohol breath tests before each flight. Actually, let's stop serving alcohol on board all together. That nonsense needs to stop since it just causes chaos.
  3. Budget airlines are a reflection of the race-to-the-bottom mentality the US has possessed since deindustrialization, and also an example of what deregulation does to an industry. They are tense environments the moment you weigh baggage, else be charged a ludicrious sum, to the inordinantly uncomfortable seats and lack of leg room, to the embarassed flight attendants trying to sell a credit card, and to the violent incidents. Their customer service is uniquely bad, and they take advantage of, really prey on, passengers with extensive hidden fees and lack of refunds. It's like dollar stores proliferating in rough neighborhoods and all the resulting consequences. Just not a fan.
  4. That and Frontier need to be shut down. Some things can be done on the cheap, flying shouldn't be one of them. Their "seats" and lack of leg room alone should have led to injunctions years ago
  5. That, and a profit-sharing mechanism in perpetuity (since the NFL won't let Cleveland receive direct equity).
  6. Good, next up, punitive measures to Guarnieri and that nurse who perpetuated and prolonged this nightmare. Let's punish the arresting officer(s) as well, if there was one. Or ban them, and all those persecuting this poor girl, from receiving any medical care for the next few years. I'm happy with that option too. https://apnews.com/article/ohio-miscarriage-prosecution-brittany-watts-b8090abfb5994b8a23457b80cf3f27ce "Watts had been admitted to the Catholic hospital twice that week with vaginal bleeding, but she left without being treated." How can anyone read this article and not be furious. EVERYONE who touched her case needs to suffer. What a failure on every level; there must be retribution. MAGA has ruined this country with Dobbs and its collateral damage. RUINED!
  7. "Coyne said his three big recommendations for redeveloping dying downtowns are inclusivity, programming, and having a business plan." Programming and business plans are no-brainers, but what the hell does "inclusivity" mean in the context of improving downtowns?

"There’s good people on both sides who see the approach differently.” Nope,

In today's climate, I can see Jewish students being apprehensive attending Harvard and other institutions where students openly embrace anti-Semitism under the cloak of anti-Zionism (as if that's better), but not due to fears of employer retaliation. Just safety. The name, pedigree, connections, and endowments are still beyond peer. This will pass. The mobs will disperse.

The Twelve by Cronin is all right. Not as good as the prequel but very readable.
  11. I'm pretty bearish on AR/VR. Look at all the hype with the Apple Vision Pro, and now nothing. Google Glass died long ago with some retroactive babble about it just being a demo or prototype. Metaverse is dead or deadish. Oculus and other headsets are limited to gamers. Same with AI. All talk, limited corporate application, very limited long-term consumer usability, interest, or even understanding. Might as well file that under the NFTs of 2022. All that aside, the declining interest of teenage licenses is ultimately a good thing. 15 is way too young for kids to be operating death machines.
  12. I'm really surprised to hear that. All that's left are hotel and those expensive and specialized niche, boutique gyms. I'm also surprised an LA Fitness, Planet Fitness or even an Equinox or Lifetime don't have a presence yet. A good gym is basically the new third space for adults.

Well, half the country is MAGA brainwashed and a huge chunk of the other half is pretty broken too. I'd say there really aren't many rationally minded people these days.

These days, perhaps. MAGA is an evil cult and fully intertwined with conservative/Republican identity. I don't see how a person could ally with those deplorables and not be one.
  15. Honestly, as long as there's no UBI or nationalized healthcare, the economy will remain dogs**t regardless of GDP growth or 3% inflation and unemployment. These statistics and graphs just don't make a difference to most people. Rising COL, falling purchasing power, and generally terrible wages are so inbedded in our economy that these stats don't mean all that much.

If there's a better show than Mayor of Kingstown, I'm not seeing it.
  17. This building is a weird one. I believe there are 21 units in it, with some expensive penthouses. Even if the special is a million, you figure the cheaper/smaller units won't possibly pay more than $40 thousand. That still would make for a pretty good deal, all things considering.
  18. https://www.redfin.com/OH/Cleveland/140-Public-Sq-44114/unit-303/home/70716736 Granted it has a significant HOA, but am I nuts or is that incredibly cheap? And a drop from $467,000 to $153,000 in 8 years? What am I missing?

It was never alive in the first place, just another con by that sociopath. As credible as his mini-sub.

  21. The whole concept of curbside pickup is broken and does not work, at least in the States. I remember many bad nights of Megabus and its ghost buses. Waiting by Public Square. Waiting behind Public Square. Waiting around W3. Freezing. No one knowing anything. No one to call. The only hope was #Megabusfails for any information. No way anyone should go through that again.

Nevermind the Watson moral/morale disaster and Chubb's deflating injury, but are Browns fans not excited about the team? I thought the games tend to have high ratings and good merch sales.
  23. Damn you find some good angles
  24. Keep your eye on the Citigroup situation. This may be the start of a substantial reversal nationwide.
