  1. Depends if your surname is Murphy. Apparently they're not wanted.
  2. Should Jimmy abandon the Brookpark fantasy, I hope Cleveland/Cuyahoga look at the economic realities of today and make adjustments from last year's overly generous proposal. No waiving rent (it should be 7 or 8 figures), no subsidizing property taxes, no gifting Willard and Muni to the criminals on game/event days, no profit-sharing restrictions, just for starters. If Jimmy doesn't like it, he's free to go f himself.

The Sacramento home opener sure was something.

Dead Wake is an easy read. Larson does a great job with that nonfiction style.
  5. I'm already exhausted. But a win is a win. And whatever happened to the games being on Channel 43? Blackouts/tech issues are bulls**t. Easier to just pirate the games after ATT Universe, et al's, debacle today.

And who the f is Ben Lively? Better look him up. Am I living in the Twilight Zone? I have NO recollection of these guys from last year.
  7. Someone has to park there the 350+ days of nonuse.

3:10 pm EST folks. Let's go... Tanner Bibee? Who the F is that? Oh, he was quite good last year. I'll take it.
  9. So long Bar Louie. Thanks for some fun memories and dollar burger specials back in the glory days.
  10. By PD writer do you mean AI prompt? "Artificial intelligence was used to help generate this story from Today in Ohio" The article doesn't even have an author listed. It's just a Gemini/Chat GPT/Bing summary. As for the topic itself, what more is there to say? Jimmy can pay for the s**t himself, offer a tremendous profit-sharing agreement to public funders, move to a different state or country, redevelop the current site with subsidies, extend the current lease indefinitely, and/or go f himself. THIS HAS BEEN TALKED TO DEATH.
  11. Or from Lorain's rapidly growing Hispanic community.
  12. Just because a county is seeing anemic growth doesn't mean sprawl. It's not like Lorain and Elyria are recently developed farmlands either.
  13. That Rays situation is interesting. Tampa, really Florida as whole, doesn't seem to care much for MLB, and rumors are the Sternbergs are shopping. The fact there was so little Tampa outcry over the failed Montreal split seasons is pretty indicative of the region's attachment. Plus St. Petersburg is, what, 40 miles from Tampa? That would be like the Guardians playing in Barberton. The team has had a foot halfway out the door for a while, temporary acommodations in Steinbrenner Field notwithstanding.
  14. I disagree actually. First floor commercial is and will remain disastrous for a lot of reasons, whereas even ground floor residential units will find a tenant. There are just so many empty parcels that would be better served as residentials - retail is too risky, costly, lacks demand, etc. Times have changed.
  15. Lots of similarities with the Bears fiasco though the moron mayor is on board.
  16. A lot of the boom has shifted to Fells Point. That aside, my understanding is Inner Harbor is doing okay, just the indoor mall(s?) are dead.
  17. THEN PAY FOR THE STADIUM NO ONE WANTS YOUR GODDAMN SELF!!
  18. He did a great job though I wish the mics were better for the reporters. I couldn't understand a word they said.
  19. Hardball Chris. Rent jumps to $5 million/year in 2029, $10 for 2030, $15 for 2031, etc, if we're in limbo by next year and Jimmy starts babbling about extentions. No more $250k bulls**t.
  20. I hate to say this, but not even a Cleveland law firm?
  21. Seemed to be booming last summer when I visited despite the usual incidents that infect virtually every major US city. Had a late 90s Flats vibe: Past its heyday but still a major attraction that can afford a handful more nights of chaos before winding down completely.
  22. How are those financial numbers still accurate? With interest rates, inflation, tarrif-related escalated costs, supply and Labor shortages, etc, I find it hard to believe the numbers don't need adjusting. Also, how much would road, bridge and highway improvements cost? Tens of millions? Hundreds? Never mind the months or years of studies and debates even if some amount is allocated. No way that s**t gets fastracked even for some MAGA fairy tale.
  23. Whoops. St Patty's brain error. Plus fair vs fare.
  24. Southwest charging for carry-ons is fair - before, people without carry-ons deserved a fair reduction - so this just evens the playing field. But screwing over passengers on refunds and changed tickets is infuriating and petty.
