Surely it's just a mockup. Usually these images, even demos, aren't literal.

They're bad, but surely not that bad.

I'd say about 100%.

If that's the case, then Jimmy and Dee can finance a stadium themselves, or the NFL can grant the city/county equity.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Oh I read it and understand what Econsult will be analyzing. My cynicism is not abated.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Oh god, not another study. And if it avoids the longstanding questions - sterilizing the property, finding shovel-ready tenants, and resolving FAA issues - then why even bother unless Bibb is trying to gain some political points.

Well, at least we rotated the topic back to the thread:)

What are you watching?
On season 2 of Enterprise. What... what is this show? How does it exist? I'll forgive the special effects, but the writing and acting are just SHOCKING. Bakula is likeable and Blacock isn't bad... the rest... oh boy. From the deep and complex characters and storylines in TNG and DS9 to this crap? I just don't get it. And the characters act like simpletons. Child-like. They just do the dumbest things each episode, and clearly Starfleet hasn't given them any direction. Just have fun Bakula and friends. Is the show being ironic? Unintentional parody of TOS? Also, the episode with Padma Lakshmi guest starring is in particular dumb and cliche. Kahless, give me strength. She's just horrible. Stick with Top Chef. I'll give Strange New Worlds a chance after. Not sure I can stomach Voyager quite yet.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Yeah, the Bing AI one is pretty underwhelming. Skynet it ain't. Here's another: Describe how Cleveland can become more attractive to residents and businesses. "Cleveland can become more attractive to residents and businesses by improving its infrastructure, creating more job opportunities, and promoting diversity and inclusion. Cleveland can also become a “15-minute city” where everything is closer. This means that people can live closer to their workplaces, schools, and other amenities, which can reduce commuting time and increase productivity. Cleveland can also improve its public transportation system by making it more efficient and affordable. This can help people get around the city more easily and reduce traffic congestion. In addition, Cleveland can promote its cultural attractions such as museums, theaters, and parks to attract more visitors. This can help boost the local economy by increasing tourism revenue. Finally, Cleveland can create a more diverse and inclusive environment by promoting equal opportunities for all residents. This can help attract businesses that value diversity and inclusion. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions."

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
From Bing AI: "Cleveland has been making efforts to become a more popular city in recent years. The city has been working on a plan to become an "18-hour city," which means that it will be active and vibrant for 18 hours a day. The mayor of Cleveland also expressed the goal to become the first "15-minute city" in America at his State of the City speech. Cleveland is also trying to become 'Kindland' by promoting kindness and community. However, it's difficult to predict whether Cleveland will become a popular city in the future as it depends on various factors such as economic growth, population growth and cultural development."

MLB: General News & Discussion
Montreal has got to be a front runner too. Hell, they were supposed to host half the Ray's games before COVID. It's interesting how that would have played out. Teams moving is always a bummer - f-k A's ownership- but Tampa and Miami fans just don't appreciate baseball, and I doubt there would be outcry. Is Nashville a baseball town? I could see Charlotte, Omaha or even Indianapolis campaigning for a team.

Knights, Raiders and now the A's. They are salivating for basketball next. Kings maybe?

Philadelphia: Transit News
You've got that right. They, and other cities, need to think wayyyyy outside the box for dramatically improving safety and safety perceptions. No more goddamn bandaids. There should be armies of city police, social workers, volunteers, city ambassadors, deputized civlilains, etc, in all these major systems. And huge incentive programs in exchange for participating in these programs i.e. property tax abatements, local tax abatements, sales tax abatements, green card status after serving x hours, citizenship after serving x hours, guaranteed public employment after serving x hours, etc. Outside-the-box thinking is desperately needed. I don't know why America accepts people being terrorized in trains and buses, but it needs to stop. Once we match Western European safety levels (god forbid we're ever on par with Asian countries), then the appetite for massive capital investments will grow. Pipe dreams until then.

Philadelphia: Transit News
The Philly El has defintely struggled a lot with criminals, smokers, homeless, mentally ill, etc, the last few years though that can be said about most local train systems in major US cities. God knows the CTA has utterly collapsed in many ways, in particular the 24-hour lines, and my niece and her husband have had some rough experiences on the MTA since COVID. This s**t isn't getting better. I wonder if there's really support for billions of investment when what's existing is so broken.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
If Cleveland is spending billions on another mostly empty, refurbished, god-awfully located stadium (which I doubt) and Columbus gets 2 or 3 years of Browns football (which I also doubt), all in exchange for some vague lakefront development promises (which I doubt), then I would hope city leaders would write a response to Jimmy and Dee that begins with "Go" and ends with F-K Yourself". I'm not doubting your sources, KJP. I'm just not seeing this play out the way those charlatans want.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Well, I don't think THAT will be a problem.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Cleveland was known as the "comeback city" in the mid-90s, with the Indians, the Flats, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a popular mayor, Drew Carey, and maybe even Tower City/the Avenue helping push that new narrative. And it wasn't some forced nickname (i.e. the Plum, Forest City, recently the Land) that never gained any traction outside of 216 and 440 zip codes. The "Comeback City" was real and stuck. That sobriquet obviously disappeared (boy, the 2000s have been rough), but frankly I don't think anyone uses the "Mistake on the Lake" moniker unless you dig through some random Youtube video or rust belt articles. Carson isn't mocking us anymore. There are probably hundreds of urbanohio pages (thousands?) relating to this topic, all full of ideas, some whimsical, some grounded in reaility, that discuss the perception and reality of businesses struggling and ways to combat it. Do we really need to relitigate the same topic in yet another forum?

And JP Morgan up 7 percent. Gotta love those higher interest rates.

Good start. Next up, remove that statue of Jim Brown. One active player who preys on vulnerable women is enough; we don't need to see that other violent manaic next to the stadium.

Red-Light Cameras
There is due process, albiet a different sort due to these being administrative fines. You're entitled to a hearing though I believe you have to pay the fine first, then receive potential reimbursement.

LIke the $3 million investment was never there. Those riders are problems in every city, bunch of terrorizing thugs.

“Together with the Browns, we have worked to enrich our communities while increasing awareness of FirstEnergy as an energy leader. Since we signed this agreement ten years ago, our priorities have shifted as the company evolved from a competitive energy supplier to a regulated utility, and as a result, our corporate initiatives must also evolve,” John Somerhalder, FirstEnergy interim president and CEO, is quoted in the release. “Like the rest of northern Ohio, we remain passionate Browns fans and will cheer them on in upcoming seasons. We also look forward to maintaining our deep relationships with civic, arts and other organizations to bring good energy to our communities.” "PS, maybe our brand isn't so hot after condoning Jones' criminal behavior and having to pay a quarter of a billion in fines".
