Cleveland: Immigration News & Discussion
Lot of pro-Putin Eastern Europeans in the east side suburbs. Plus Ohio being a MAGA state doesn't help. DeWine is no Waltz.

Damn, looks like the truck was stalled and the train couldn't stop. Crazy footage

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Man, it's f'd everywhere and so many of these buildings, especially the tall ones, just can't be refurbished or repurposed realistically. And the longer the vacancy, the higher those costs. Reminds me of dead malls a bit. Long term, i don't see how remote work possibly benefits downtowns. Without that constant dayforce population, I just don't see an upside. Tourism and residents just aren't enough. Now that I'm properly bummed out, let's look at the Guardians score tonight. .... OH COME ON!

Early 70s but potential storms. It's going to be a strange home opener.

Fun start to the season but these late games are killing me. Do they not have afternoons out west?

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Fake of course, but I wouldn't call it particularly funny. Maybe if Bibb and his team had a clever retort, we would have chuckled. Makes me pine for NPSL days at the Richfield Colliseum. Hell, I'll even take the MISL days. But overall not a big deal Pug--I mean ProspectAve.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
The NFL has openly conspired against city team equity since 1980 to avoid another Packers situation. However, I wonder if there could there be a public consortium that could still abide by the rules about number of owners/percentage of equity. If so, then some public financing would be warranted since the consortium would allocaterevenue to the city in some manner. No more of the bullsh-t "the bars, hotels and parking lots do well on game day, so where's my free money".

Very good news. We've got to lock in decent hitters, and Gimenez certainly made up for a crappy 2021 last year.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Let's be honest. Bedrock would sooner launch a mission to Mars before building that development. For a developer, they sure don't develop much here. Might as well be Bob Stark or the Ratners at this point.

I take it the 2013 rennovations didn't cut it then. $120 million doesn't get you much these days. As for additional renovations, if Jimmy and Dee can afford the Bucks, then I'm sure they can find ways of financing stadium improvements beyond hiring an unapologetic sexual predator.

Unless they're female, in which it's a free-for-all of harassment and sexual assaults.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
One thing is for sure, That "Tri-C-Campus District" stop is as misleading as it gets. I sure hope students or travelers don't get tricked into thinking it's anywhere near the school or anything besides the correctional facility.

Ohio Education / School Funding Discussion
^^Aren't those just examples of s-hitty people being s-hitty? Interesting conversation overall. On the one hand, I don't blame parents wanting their kids to avoid schools where far too many violent, loudmouth, and otherwise proudly antisocial thugs ruin it for everyone. It seems like some, let's call them enablers, are more concerned with providing context for the s-hitty kids' behaviors rather than worrying about what happens to those whose educations are ruined to no fault of their own. Public school or not, false cries of racism or not, disruptive kids need to go. This s-hit sure doesn't happen in Europe or Asia, and it shouldn't be so accepted here. And second, if a parent doesn't want his/her child being "indoctrinated" with an understanding of racial histories and sexual/gender orientation, then they can always homeschool their kids. Otherwise, they need to shut the f-k up with their false outrage, false fear, and gleeful scapegoating of gay and trans kids and whatever they think woke means. The need for a boogeyman, validated by the conservative movement, is pathetic, obvious, and happens generation after generation.

So you'd be brown bagging, and your colleagues wanted you to waste both gas money and also your lunch break driving them to an eatery? I hope this wasn't a regular occurence; they sound shameless.

Remote Work
Remote work may be decimating city businesses, public transportation and indirectly contributing to criminal activity and behavior, but it sure as s-hit isn't responsible for the higher interest rates, bond losses and bank run last week.
