Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Gotta admit the Tappan apartments are nice, and the coffee shop/bakery downstairs is solid. But my god is Tremont difficult to get to. Did Esher help determine all that awful highway placement?

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I never made the connection between the drumming and the team name. It's just one of those enjoyable parts to the game, which needs to do something to engage fans. Baseball has just gotten so damn boring, and without any bigger-than-life players.

Is it possible to get to W3 from the Amtrak? Google maps does not make it clear.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Want to know what's absolutely f'd. I get off the Amtrak at 5:30am last Friday, and to get to Tower City I have to walk up the stairs at the East 9th station. Except that the ground level doors were/are locked from the inside, so once I climbed the station steps, there was no escape. So what do I do, I go downstairs with my s-hit, right back to the tracks, then climb the f'ing hill next to the station so I can circle back to Tower City. Whether it's Amtrak or RTA's fault, not exactly a world class greeting.

Peaky Blinders is well done but I am trying to resist using captions. Those accents are thick.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
"But the key question is whether the proposal leads to greater racial and social equity in one of America’s poorest and most segregated cities." This boilerplate nonsense is so cliche. Can't the city/developers just develop the f'ing lakefront without bringing race, equity, and other buzzwords into the conversation. As for the proposal, it looks great. As for how realistic it is, well...

The Future of America and Its Cities
More and more businesses are ending remote work, and the restructured office spaces and hybrid models are, in many cases such as my company, garbage. Middle management and execs love it of course. My new job search now requires full remote work, high salary notwithstanding. We just can't go backwards.

Chicago: Developments and News
That's One Chicago, which includes two towers connected with an enormous podium, and it basically encompasses an entire block. It'll be very expensive and right across the street from a troubled McDonald's, red line stop, and Lawson House public housing, where there are often a lot of problems, so it'll be interesting to see if there will be ancillary/safety improvements. And if any architect aficionados want a lump in their throats, look no further than the blue window tinted building in the back, the Wanda Vista/St. Regis building. The multiple blow-through floors weren't even discussed until it was too late, and the building looks completely scarred, especially looking northbound. An absolute shame; it looks incomplete, mechanical in a bad way.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
I wouldn't disqualify a candidate for appearing at a place like Town Hall anymore than I would one who gives a speech at some bulls-hit "church". If the guy has a good message, who cares where the podium is located.

Invincible was very uneven tonally. It goes from Archie to Attack on Titan to Dawson's Creek to Modern Day Snark. I can't say I really liked it but did get sucked in the show. God almighty was some of that music cringey. Edit: Dark Side of the Ring episodes 1 and 2 on Brian Pillman were incredible, with the second episode being heartbreaking and tear inducing at moments. Credit to the show's creators, they were EXTREMELY sensitive/diplomatic with Melanie Pillman (a physical and mental mess currently), as for years she was a complete monster towards her children/step children after Brian's death. Brian Pillman Jr came out exceptionally likeable and forgiving, his aunt is a real life saint, a true role model, but you can see his other two sisters haven't quite recovered. A ten out of ten episode. Great start to the season. But oh boy, if the Pillman episode was sad, just wait for the Grizzly Smith one (Jake the Snake Roberts' dad). That one's going to be rough.

https://sports.yahoo.com/roberto-alomar-resigns-from-hall-of-fame-board-remains-enshrined-after-sexual-misconduct-allegation-032929954.html I can't think of any contemporary ballplayer with more rumors to their name. To be frank, and related to those rumors, I'm surprised he's even healthy these days.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
I've worked on contract projects at coworking spaces where I was situated in the basement or without natural light. As long as there are proper amenities, I don't know if windows/natural light is a top priority for would-be tenants I do feel a gym floor - and no bottom barrel broken cardio machines nonsense, I mean a proper workout facility, even if small - would be a hell of an incentive, yet it's something I haven't noticed in those spaces.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I've got to be honest... I really miss steroids in baseball. These endless low scoring games and lack of superstars just kill interest. Three-hour games where we see ten total hits and five total runs between both teams are just exhausting, even when we win. Players seem so anonymous and interchangeable these days. If I were sitting next to Trout and Machado at a pub, I honestly don't think I'd recognize them, even if they called each other by their first AND last names. Hell does JD Martinez even have a face? I've seen him dozens of times on tv and websites, and still can't describe him.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
Perhaps historically, but downtown firms also wanted to be by the courts and jail. If the Justice Center moves to Kinsman, that could be a factor in firm relocations. The whole point of a centralized civic district ecosystem is proximity, and that move can't excite crim defense firms trying to justify downtown leasing prices. Granted, Benesch doesn't do that kind of work. Just an observation.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
I get the idea is far-fetched and a hostage/rape/murder situation just waiting to happen, but it's been done before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Amtrak transport prisoners in the 1970s? I'm sure the cars were isolated and secured, but they would be part of the train as a whole.

As close to a perfect show as I've seen. The Wandavision season/series finale was just wonderful.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
It's a nice article but nothing we haven't read for years, decades. And the whole affordable housing argument is maddening; there is nothing but affordable existing SFHs throughout the city.

Yep, I didn't blink once during Wandavision episode 8. Definitely a slower pace, exposition-heavy episode, but no complaints.
