I wonder when working out became such a major part of one's daily life. There is no way people in the 1950s and 60s were as dedicated to the gym as today. And those niche places for yoga, crossfit, cycling, etc, are popping up everywhere. Is it a multi-decade fad? Something to do with the lack of physical labor manufacturing jobs (people have to burn calories somewhere)? Some kind of response to food getting so unhealthy and obesity rates so high the last few decades?

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
I'll be honest, I'm glad the greyhound isn't moving (yet). I'm on that bus once a month, and that proposed location by 90 just doesn't work for travelers. Even though Chester and 14th feels a little desolate, there are some characters with the usual panhandling inquiries, and the narrow walk to Euclid or E9 too isolated (with all the garages and subsidized housing nearby), it's still far easier to get to and leave for Tower City.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Who cares if he takes the bus or train to work. You think Obama and Michelle, both huge public transportation advocates, take the blue line to Dulles? What difference does it make? It's like some of the earlier criticism Jane Campbell got for not taking the rapid to work. Just a witchhunt for a scapegoat for funding problems.

It's the trope that every positive article has to begin on a negative; it's like the PD is always gaslighting its readers. That laziness drives me crazy.

Talk about pandering nonsense, especially the title. Keep squeezing out nonstory after nonstory, PD. Dead Malls
If any of you know Chicago, you should read about the history and current issues plaguing the Block 37 mall in the loop. One of the more interesting clusterf-cks of any city, it still survives in a weird zombie-purgatory state. On the one hand, it has high end apartments (recently built), an expensive theater and nice Latin-esque foodcourt, both of which are less than a year old (before those entire floors were completely desolate), and tremendous access to the red and blue lines under ground. On the other hand, there are just countless empty storefronts to the point of it being a ghost mall on several floors). The mall feels like a combination of the Galleria and Tower City. Very new and clean, lots of commuters coming and leaving...and empty for the most part despite being located in the heart of downtown Chicago. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/ct-block-37-architecture-kamin-met-0612-20160610-column.html (pretty current overview) http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/The-312/April-2012/A-Brief-History-of-Block-37/ (though the mall is in better condition today than when the article was published) There's even a book about the history of the mall/that specific area, and that's from 1996.

2016 U.S. Senate Race
Portman's support of gay marriage is solely due to his gay son. If not for that, he'd still chant the party line about Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

Meh, they're not so bad compared to some other crackpot protesters. You never hear about them attacking people, blocking freeways, screaming at cops and law-abiders, or causing/enabling violence. Just a few dozen loudmouths that pop out of their shell a few times a year.

Why do so many crossfit girls get tattoos everywhere? It's overboard to the point of being comical, and what happens when they no longer can continue those intense workouts. I'm sure the word empowerment is included in their reasoning.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Let's hope they spend many months, if not forever, deciding when to open it; I was there last weekend and couldn't imagine traffic violating that new, open, friendly, accessible, relaxing, well-integrated park.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
The 2015 estimate has Cleveland in the upper 380s; perhaps the 397 includes an anticipated absorption of East Cleveland.

I've gotta say, if you're commending a city for not rioting, those are some pretty low expectations and standards.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
They're all fine hitters but certainly nothing top tier save for perhaps Brantley. And while I can excuse the owners for hitters' poor performance, since it's literally out of the Dolan's hands, what is a complete slap is maintaining this unethical dynamic pricing scam. They want casual fans? Then stop this nickel and diming nonsense. It's inherently dishonest and the average fan has wisened up. If the Dolans actually want higher attendance - even though they get their money from TV and merchandise, so it isn't really a big deal to them - then price the tickets to match economic realities or shut up.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
^^when the team owners have been openly hostile to the fans year after year and do nothing to encourage fans to attend (still dynamic pricing? still no hitting?), then it's hard to be surprised with the fallout.

I'm getting the vibe that Amber Heard may be exaggerating Jonny Depp's abuse. Can't put my finger on why though.

Oh My God was the first issue of DC Rebirth amazing. If you're a comic book fan, you know it's been a bleak 3-4 years with that company, but wow was this a stunning and epic and touching start to their relaunch.
