  1. Wait, those handwritten pictures are serious??? Jesus, they look terrible. I've never seen anything like that in an airport. Embarassing.

Come on. San Diego is far more than a one trick pony.
  4. LaGuardia may be lackluster, but JFK is certainly a gorgeous airport that enhances a traveler's overall experience, especially if they're stuck there for a while. It is part of a city's identity, a major part. There is a reason cities with significant momentum - San Fran, Miami, DC, for example - have made enormous cosmetic investments in their airports.
  5. Airports should be pleasant experiences. They're a reflection of the city, the first or last place you see, and there's something to be said for aesthetics. Plus if you're stuck there for a while, why wouldn't you expect some kind of comfort and hospitality. Check out the Indianapolis airport if you ever have the opportunity; it makes such a great impression on the city, really lifts everyone's mood.
  6. Plenty of normal people get bothered, intimidated, harassed, even assaulted by anti-social types in all cities with public transportation. It's just part of the experience and reality of being confined to a space with people from dangerous areas.

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2015/12/donte_whitner_calls_for_jimmy.html#incart_2box Donte Whitner calls for Jimmy Haslam to keep Browns coaching staff: 'We've let them down' This quote jumped out a bit: "With all of this adversity we have to be able to block this out, go out there and get our jobs done no matter if we're 2-10 or 10-2 and that's what we're paid to do,'' he said. "If you love the game of football it really shouldn't matter about record or playoffs or anything. It should be about the love of the game, going out there and having pride and not laying down and that's what we have." Well Donte, as a longtime suffering Browns fan, I disagree with you and hope the other players and coaching staff have a different outlook.

Don't be a schmuck Neil. No one gives a shit about a publicly subsidized scoreboard.

Good. Actions have consequences, and the locker room probably is relieved that putz is benched.
  16. Who needs David Price when we can get Joba. Huzzah!
  17. "Millenials hate the bus"? That really depends on the city. In Chicago buses are often inundated with millenials/students/"young professionals"/Generation Y types. Example, the best way from the Loop to University of Chicago/Hyde Park is by bus due to the two El trains being too far (with the closest train stops located in unacceptably high crime neighborhoods miles away). Buses are fine provided you don't have to travel more than, say, hmmm, 15-20 miles. I don't think millenials care so much how to get from x to y, just that they have time efficient alternatives to driving. If anything it's suburbanites who hate the bus due to their travelling substantially longer distances.

Broken clocks are also correct twice a day. The vast, vast, vast majority of economists and market analysts were caught with their pants down in 08. And even today they're full of crap. Market drops - why, it must be a correction. Market increases - why, it must be due to global confidence. Other than market fluctuations due to earnings reports, it's all armchair, quarterback, hindsight, self-congratulatory, guessing at the end of the day.
  19. What is this S**t? Should male refugees' boots be on the ground in Syria? -- Darcy cartoon http://www.cleveland.com/darcy/index.ssf/2015/11/male_refugees_boots_should_be.html#incart_river_home Would the PD/cleveland.com be asking if male Jewish refugees' boots should be on the ground in 1939 Germany? What an insensitive post.

  23. Isn't wanting a bustling airport like wanting a bustling downtown, which I imagine most people would prefer
  24. It incentivized another major company leaving downtown. Better than leaving for warmer pastures in a different state, but still what a blow to the city's financial district.
  25. What are you people smoking? Capital Grille is awesome and that little shopping mecca lacks a good steakhouse. Or you're complaining about construction? Forum darlings Trader Joe's and Whole Foods almost always build from ground up with new branches, so who cares if Capital Grille does the same.
