  1. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/10/lawyer_for_man_who_killed_shak.html#incart_m-rpt-1 Lawyer for man who killed Shaker Heights teacher faces jail time after missing sentencing Does the PD/cleveland.com even try anymore? The attorney is deceased, which they didn't think to consider when "researching" the article. My hunch is the story will be edited or outright pulled shortly
  2. "This decision was also driven by the need to improve our operational efficiencies, while also meeting the demands of our customers and enabling us to compete more effectively on a global basis" I swear employers are copying and pasting this garbage whenever they announce layoffs. I'm surprised "streamlining operations" wasn't included too.
  3. Good memories of family going to Southgate and barbecuing with cousins nearby. At least the city's library is pretty nice.
  4. It also helps there are far fewer lunatics on stage. Regardless of your political affiliation, you can tell it's night and day between these two groups.
  5. Party on Wayne

Just marathoned Life's Too Short. Oh my god is this show funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsKxXOqXWds
  7. It does amaze one how quickly and easily the city coud draw up revenue (straight from the taxpayer's pocket) for unnecessary shit like stadium renovations and not a penny for vastly increased foot patrols and other security measures.
  8. ^^It's somewhat inconsistent (currently the train isn't even running until the 17th) and, depending on my arrival, I'd have to wait a while since I usually get there at 6am. The first train doesn't leave until 6:30am on weekdays, 9:30am on weekends - and the place is plenty busy even at the early and late hours. There are a lot of passengers who travel overnight. I just wonder what the walk to Tower City would be like in the middle of the night/early morning. Walking to the Stephanie Tubbs center at any hour is fine; the Greyhound has recently had a surge in 11pm and 6am panhandlers (who range in aggresiveness), which is pretty disappointing, and you'd sooner find a leprechaun than a cop immediately outside. The walk from the current Greyhound station to Euclid isn't great either due to the garages, projects and desolate feel. Also, would I have to pay twice since I need to get to the eastern burbs and thus need to hop on the green or blue line? But maybe the Waterfront line would work for most people (excluding the overnighters).
  9. http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2015/10/new_site_on_downtown_central_l.html#incart_river_home New site on central lakefront under consideration for Cleveland intermodal hub (photos) "After leaning toward locating the hub at the west end of the Muni Lot east of East Ninth Street and the North Pointe Garage, the city is now looking strongly at placing the new center west of East Ninth Street, near the existing Amtrak station. The new location would place the transit hub in a highly visible spot north of the city's new convention center and south of North Coast Harbor and attractions including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Great Lakes Science Center and FirstEnergy Stadium." Ugggg, what a mess. The walk from there to Tower City is going to be a pain no matter what.
  10. God forbid it isn't a Michelin restaurant
  11. God I hope not. Is that rumor or conjecture? Have had many a fun Friday night in Paladar/Europa/Cerviche

  13. That was a really well written article.
  14. The NIMBY's have fought hard against this one.
  15. The most amazing project in the US today. 17 million square feet! Basically a small city being built.

  18. Three games back
  19. That's great to hear
  20. Even if it were, who the f takes pleasure in seeing Beachwood and Mayfield Hts dying? What an ignorant comment. I'm sure the 1000 people let go from Bank of America last year are still smiling

    Well, good seeing you Josh
  23. Hopefully this gives Coffee Phix some more exposure (it recently moved next to the tobacco shop). It's a great place but could really use more business, and the proprietor is literally there ever hour it's open.
  24. Absolutely in support. Daley did the city a huge service by unilaterally (even if illegally) gifting Chicago such a massive public amenity. There was a trade off of course and some people were upset, but far, far, FAR many will benefit in the long term. If White (Campbell and Jackson are too weak to take such a gamble) had gone the same route, Burke could have become such a wonderland for the city. Instead it's just a massive waste with zero point zero value for 99% of the region.
