Ohio & National Intercity Bus Discussion
I'm not sure if it's express technically since I always overnight it. There is usually only one bathroom stop, with Cleveland being the first among other destinations. Seems pretty express to me. Hell of a deal for $35-40 each way. I've completely lost faith in Megabus. The delays alone are a deal-breaker.

Ohio & National Intercity Bus Discussion
My roommate waited 3 hours that day for the Chicago -to- Cleveland megabus before learning it left on time in a Coach USA bus. There was no communication to those waiting, and there were 10-15 people left stranded with my roommate. Greyhound came to the rescue and he made it to Cleveland just before midnight. I personally use Greyhound most of the time these days. It is comfy, comparable price and always leaves/arrives on time!

Cleveland: Downtown Retail Needs
There is no better way for tourists (or locals for that matter) to meet new people than a cigar lounge. If there were a nice big one with comfy couches, wifi, BYOB, a fireplace, perhaps a private room in the back, perhaps a seasonal fenced backyard, sports playing on HD, then that would get some serious patronage. The one in Ohio City is pretty good; model a downtown shop after that.

Cleveland sports talk radio
Well, considering the reverence all these sports shows and personalities have for Jim Brown, you can tell that domestic violence is not really a deal-breaker when it comes to who they support and defend.

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
I'll be honest. I never frequent the Cincinnati boards and didn't have a clue who your mayor is, more or less this streetcar controversy, until cnn.com and yahoo.com posted several articles last week. This definitely feels reminiscent of Kasich bulldozing the 3C line, and people wanting to impeach or recall him for it, even though that was part of his campaign. It sucks you guys lost the streetcar, but if Kasich is still in office (and on his way to be win re-election), I don't see Cranley going anywhere

Cleveland: Winterfest 2013
I went to Winterfest with my youngest niece and had a fun time. The arcades in particular were charming and heavilly occupied. Oh, and the Allen theater looks great - my first time there since construction. The libraries also had events and a train depot at Stokes basement - but the highlight of the trip was going to the third or 4th floor of Stokes, and looking at 100s of photos of Cleveland. Best part of the day - one can spend many many hours looking at the city's history (organized in hundreds of subcategories via index). And they give you gloves too!

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I don't know if RTA has a hiring program with the mentally ill and/or felons, but the guy working at Tower City is making quite an impression. Yelling and rudeness is a hell of a 'Welcome to Winterfest from the RTA' introduction to suburbanites and their families. Where did you guys find this yahoo (late 60s, white facial hair, black dude)

I really don't know, but it made for an interesting parking/leaving experience at times

Cleveland Heights: Development and News
I wonder if there are still narcotica transactions in the back parking lot. They certainly were common there during the Jilians days.

Cleveland: Little Italy Neighborhood Discussion
Safest neighborhood in the city without question and has been for decades. Say what you will about racist this and vigilante that, but there's a reason the Glenville and Hough riots didn't expand to Little Italy. And there's a reason the Feast of Assumption hasn't gone the route of fairs at 185th, Garfield Hts, BP/flats fest, Coventry fair, etc.

Well, at least we know the color of the car. Better that than a description of the perps, i guess

Cleveland: Retail News
I agree with you man. There were a surprising number of cool shops in both arcades - and the food at Sushi 86 was damn good - but a minimal amount of local publicity/promotion and awareness. I feel the PD and cleveland.com should have a local retail section on their front pages - rather than countless articles of OSU and Browns nonsense - where they promote the hell out of these places, because it's the right thing to do for the city and retailers taking a huge chance.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
So if I saw a white kid closely matching cleveland.com's censored description walking on Fairmount Blvd, and I called the police about him, thereby wasting everyone's time and causing some expense, then that would be as much, if not more, productive than had the newspaper mentioned the suspect being black? In which I wouldn't have wasted everyone's time and money in the first place? Ridiculous. Facts are facts, and if the PD/cleveland.com doesn't report them, then they're not doing their duty.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
I've read similar, if not nearly identical, articles justifying their hiding information, and I don't buy it. For instance, the media, including the PD/cleveland.com, referred to Zimmerman as being Hispanic-white in practically every first paragraph in every article, despite his race not having any relevance to the case. Never mind the fact that there were subsequent hate crimes of whites being attacked by blacks -- for being white: "We're doing this for Trayon!" hell of a rallying cry there. So there his race was relevant...but not in Cleveland Heights when the suspect is black. This litmus test is silly, and naming a suspect's race will not mobilize the Klan, much like telling his gender will not mobilize anti-male attacks, much like mentioning scars or tattoos will not mobilize anti-scar and anti-tattoo attacks. It's a stupid explanation when the real truth is that the media will avoid even the tiniest hint of anti-black racism by all means, but they will be far more meticulous to racial detail in other cases.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
We, or at least I, complain about the lack of racial descriptions because it's utterly retarded for the PD/cleveland.com to hide relevant descriptions due to irrational fears of being branded racist. It is journalism at its worst - cowering behind implied threats of the irrational, along with purposely overly sensitive, community leaders and race-baiting types. That is our, or at least my, motivation for being frustrated with these half-assed articles, not some vague racist mentality you're alluding to.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
You don't think describing what the suspect looks like is as important as his clothing and vehicle? It's not an either or; they are all relevant to providing the public an image of the psycho.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
And how can you be sure it was a black guy without the PD filling in that one fact? Why not someone white, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, Asgardian, etc? And since we don't actually know (despite our suspicions) his race, then why should the PD, whom I presume does know, describe the suspect at all? What's the point if they're going to censor out material information?
