Where do I live? Please help
Hello ppl... im finally in cleveland living with relatives I did not know existed up until 3 days ago!! anyhoo... i did visit HRH today and boy... im glad im not living anywhere around there. You guys did direct me in the right way and I am grateful... seriously! well all the apts I was lookin at before... they are ok, yes, but not convenient by public transport. Healthline is nice but it doesnt drop you right in front of HRH... its another 7-10 min walk from the stop. Normally thats not such a bad walk but in east cleveland.. :? bus #3 would drop me right outside HRH and hence I plan on living somewhere close to a # 3 stop prolly downtown, specifically either the statler or reserve sqaure. The latter is a tad more expensive than statler. Any suggestions? should I spend more n live at RS or is statler gud enough? The stop for bus # 3 is right outside RS. If i were at statler Id have to walk the 2 minutes to RS and catch the bus. do let me know.... and once again... i appreciate everything u guys have done for me.. thank u!

Where do I live? Please help
Hi guys sorry I havent had a chance to respond.. ive been away but latest news on my house hunt: A representative at the hospital told me today that the healthline was not up and running yet ( im not sure if she meant to huron or just not runnin at all yet). Anyway.. if thats the case then Larchmere would not be advisable. Ive come across another apt. Its located at 2845 Mayfield Road, Cleveland hts. Well, it seems to be at a decent distance to the hospital ( reference: Google maps) However its a 2-bedroom apt. The rent is $800/ month ( includes water only) Ive been told that I could find myself a roommate once I move in. My 2 questions regarding this apt: 1. What is the location like? Is it good enough... not too close not too far?safe? Ive been told its a 5 minute drive to the hospital and anywhere between 20-30 minutes if you dont own a car. 2. Is it easy enough to find a roomie for this location? Once again... I appreciate all the help!!! PS - found a couple of downtown apts too.. but the hospital rep didnt recommend them... said they were too far.

Wecome Ice. Can I ask where you heard these comments? For someone to "think" that an area is so unsafe, you cannot travel to work during the day, you have to have heard some very oneside comments from an biased source. So to answer your question, I would say, "yes, you're being paranoid". All of East Cleveland is not unsafe. There are some gorgeous and upper Middle class areas, directly south of HRH. [*]Where exactly do you currently live. This will give us an idea of what kind of neighborhhod you like. [*]Are you male or female? [*]What is your budget? [*]What type of unit apartment are you looking for? No. bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. [*]What type of things to do you like to do when you are off or for entertainment. [*]What will your working hours be? My suggests before you answer would be the Coventry area of Cleveland Heights; Little Italy or Murray Hill in the University Circle area; AsianVillage. I would also suggest downtown, since you'll be on the HealthLine or Red Line rapid lines, but not sure of your housing budget. Thank you so much for the quick response: as for ur questions: I live in toronto canada. hence a big city girl. I am 25 years old and female Im a medical student who will be training at huron for 6 months. As you can imagine, I would prefer an apt which is on the less expensive side ( upto $600) A studio apt would be prefect. I know a 1 br, living room apt would be more expensive. as for entertainment.. shopping, movies etc are things I like but I havent had much time to do all that since I started med school. Either way, having an option to do so is nice. working hours at huron - 8 am - 4pm ( sometimes 5 pm) Thanks.

Ive never been to cleveland or Ohio for that matter and I have been assigned a clinical spot at huron hospital for 6 months. As far as Ive read so far, huron is in east cleveland and definitely not a place where I should consider living. I will be living by myself. Please suggest a safe and affordable area for me which would be close to the public transport system so I could commute to huron everyday. Im 25 and prefer to live in an area which has a younger crowd. however safety is my priority. Please advise!! Another qs - I can still refuse my position at huron if it is unsafe even to travel there during the day by public transport. Should I? Or am i just being paranoid? please advise. Thank you
