  1. They havent even put the friggin sign yet. I'm dissappointed :?
  2. Anybody got any pics of the progress of the Banks, haven't been down there in a while.
  3. Meh! They're both good. I prefer Sherman's shot from Devou more because the night sky is black and you get a feel for the city's whole skyline. The other one although truly spectacular, is too exposed. I don't like it as much as I would had it not been so bright. I love the angle and the way QCS looks in that pic however.
  4. Lol...that's been the center piece of complaints against the tiara from its completion. It is a very dull piece of architecture that's for sure.
  5. The new lighting on QCS:
  6. OMG you guys are absolutely hilarious! That parrot in the GAT is priceless. I hope the big guys see this. The tiara is a joke, until they get the lighting fixed on it. But in the day it won't be worth while since the bird will just appear to be sitting on top of the building if cage is invisible.
  7. Thanks Great American Tower by Intermodal Photos, on Flickr
  8. Some photos from today...the site is really sprawling. I'm impressed with the progress so far:
  9. Pic from today:
  10. Damn you...you beat me to it... Guys they may light the tiara like this?
  11. These are from devou. I don't know what else you're talking about though lol.
  12. They aren't really done with the tiara enclosure yet, are they? This is what I keep telling myself and other people. The building and the birdcage don't look aesthetically connected. They're not done...lol they still have to put the signage up. Also, all this talk about enclosing the Tiara, why would you enclose the birdcage when you have the Cooling tower and stuff on top? Doesn't that stuff have to vent into the outside air? I would imagine it would be unbearably hot up there if it were enclosed in glass? I don't think it's feasible to enclose the Tiara.
  13. These pictures were all taken from Devou Park, in Kentucky. But the picture with parallel lines are relative and not a true measure of size comparison between the two. The land actually slopes so QCS sits lower than Carew tower. Therefore this isn't a very accurate depiction of the building's relative height since they're not on a planar surface. Standing next to QCS you can feel the height of it verses the feel of Carew tower. The building is massive. But from a distance it does appear shorter.
  14. Final Images...I couldn't take much because of Octoberfest or whatever was going on. I had to take from afar. Will go back sometime when its quiet to get close ups.
  15. Well the crane is gone.
  16. Um, you sure about that? Yeah you can still see them in the webcam...unless I'm imagining things?
  17. Easy the same way they're putting up the curtain wall on the front without the crane. They already have the pieces up there and the boom lifts are still up there. So it should be no problem.
  18. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! So when is the exterior work supposed to be completed? Looks like they're putting curtainwall over the spot where the front service elevator was. Only a matter of time before the building will be on it's on with no visible signs of construction woot!!!
  19. "The tallest peak in the downtown mountain range is massive beyond description." Really...massive beyond description? I think that's a tad exaggerated. No offense, but I have to cock my head back to look at the top of the 5/3rd Tower on Fountain Square. Plus, I hardly consider Cincinnati's skyline to be a mountain range, when you consider this new tower is still only the third tallest in the state and nowhere even close to being one of the tallest buildings in the world. Cincinnati's skyscrapers are hardly anything worth comparing to a mountain....they're puny by comparison. Wow, are we overly critical much? Give the guy a break he was just being optimistic. We know Cincy's skyline isn't very awe-popping, but hey it's better than Dayton's?
  20. Um, wow. Not even close. In news, there is an "E" from the GAI sign up on the north side of the tower. Hard to see in the webcam photo. Yeah that's been up there for a while now.
  21. AS IS! Take it or Leave it buddy! That bird cage will be the best thing that ever happened to Cincy!
  22. Yeah but you can't play tennis on top of other buildings like QCS lol. Look at this crazy article on the web: http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Site=AB&Date=20100808&Category=NEWS01&ArtNo=8080804&Ref=PH
  23. *winks* I just did! Just kidding. We'll save it for later!
