  1. Dude I didn't even know there was a webcam and I was wondering what's the site name, I'm wasn't complaining b/c I could careless about "the banks." The Project is too far long in scope for me to be focused on.
  2. BTW they will be jacking up the platform tomorrow! Yay! She's going to be ever so high! I'm amazed at how fast this project is going considering it's only been like 6 months of actual construction while FT in New York has been under CO for almost a 5 years. I believe the crane has lifted also, it looks a bit taller. Only by a few feet though, but it's noticablly taller.
  3. Anybody know what the hell is going on here: http://queencitysquare.com/construction.htm I mean why are they skipping levels in the back.. It's not complete in some areas. Are some of these floors maintenance floors (EP) or what? Looks funny.
  4. I didn't know we had a "transit center" Sherman I envy your photo skills. You must teach me!
  5. Nice points guys, but man I didn't think the WTC was so big (wide).
  6. Doesn't anyone think this building is unusually fat (wide)...I don't know most buildings I guess are sort of thinner. This one should house more space. This thing is going to be a behemoth.
  7. I was wondering about that myself. The Tower's core has been steadily rising but the crane hasn't moved.
  8. Great pictures, thanks!
  9. I wonder what's wrong with webcam it's stuck on night time images.
  10. The rain and stuff has delayed them, they are behind schedule this week. I'm disappointed (jk).
  11. The progress after 6 months...at this speed they should be done this time next year. http://queencitysquare.com/construction.htm The garage is moving as well.
  12. More like two floors and one concrete core floor.
  13. This is the pattern I've noticed. They pour the concrete for the next floor on Wednesdays. Then they jack up the form on Fridays and from then on to the next mid week work on the re-bar tying. Ergo one floor being done a week. At least for the core. For the actual floors they seem to be doing two floors at a time. Starting in the northeast side of the buiding putting steel beams from the outside wall to the core and then laying out sheet metal on the top second floor. The floor directly beneath it will be done at a later time. The two floor frame work routine raises & repeats in about a week and half.
  14. I wonder if they work 5 days or 6 days a week. I don't think they work on sundays?
  15. Judging by the height of the other buildings in comparison with the site, I'd say we're at 50 meters or about 1/4 the way up. :-D What do you think?
  16. Hmmm, ok thanks for the input.
  17. For you geniuses out there: How strong and how long do you think QCSII will last? I'm curious about the construction of this building. They are using a stiff concrete core with steel frame. No columns in the middle to support each floor. When I went downtown this past weekend I noticed that they were using this thin sheet like metal as the floor on top of the steel beams connected to the core and outside vertical beams? Can anyone explain the process with which they will be constructing this thing to the top and why? Thanks!
  18. LOL that's aweful...Cincinnati has an ugly riverfront. I'm glad this is changing.
  19. Thanks for that explanation. I hear they're giving us more plans on this in the morning....per WCPO.
  20. QCSII is safe!
  21. So how are they gonna keep the flood waters out? Of the garage?
  22. I tried to capture the true size of this beast. That main lobby is really tall. The buildings is huge!
  23. So, I couldn't wait to go downtown and see the progress they've made. All I have to say is wow! It looks like a building is down there. It's nearly half of QCSI and it looks really tall now! So here are some pictures. I tried to take as many angles as I could. Here's a link to my flickr gallery to see much more angles. I can only post so many photos on here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26444938@N03/ These pictures are of May 24th 2009, enjoy!
  24. Does any body know if they are going to make all the floors steel? I know they started making the floors all concrete but now they're using steel all of a sudden. Maybe it will be concrete core and steel frame with aluminum curtainwal. :? I see the core form rose another level today. I believe by mid July they will have passed QCSI!
  25. Looks good down there. So much going on in downtown Cincinnati! Great! Good to see in this horrible economy. When this recession finally ends, we're going to see a big boom in businesses downtown and hopefully in the "riverfront district" lol aka The Banks.
