  1. Couldn't have said it better. Infact that's where we were looking at it from: Union Terminal.
  2. You know, I went downtown on Friday and I thought this thing was going to appear tall as well. The goodnews is it makes an impact on the skyline that's for sure. But it feels more like the second tallest. I think looks matter most when it comes to visualizing height. I know the tiara is only half way up, but I don't think it will appear taller than CT even with the full tiara height, thus it won't feel like the next tallest building. My gf didn't even notice it when I pointed it out to her (granted, she like most people, don't care about big buildings). We talked about elavation being the key; but I think the lower elavation is hurting QCS's image as being the tallest IMO. It probably needed to be 765' to truly feel like the tallest building in Cincinnati.
  3. I agree, the video of the presentation blows....I was hoping for a taller building rather than wider. Anyway from what I could see it actually looked nice.
  4. What did you tell them to let you take photographs of this site? I understand if you don't want to tell me, but wow, you got a tour and up close! Awesome! You must have some great connections.
  5. I just ate my heart, and then barfed it back up! Excellent photos, I want more tiara pics though! Can't wait till you post them!
  6. Wow, I need new pants! Thanks Sherman for these awesome shots/updates! Sweet! Also the completion date and opening is scheduled for First Quarter 2011(Great American Insurance). With full occupancy in 2012! Queen City Square’s Class A+ office space is currently over 80% leased.
  7. But there are 41 floors. Even after the label there's one more floor? Plus the tiara adds 130'
  8. Only three more levels left before the curtainwall is 99.9% complete! We've come along way since last year!
  9. you really didn't pick up on my sarcasm huh? oh well...
  10. Wow, I didn't know I caused such a ruckus. I feel unwelcome here at UO. Perhaps I should move my membership else where, where I don't frustrate people so much. "Goodbye cruel, cruel world."
  11. The good news is, this building is the tallest in our area for miles. The closest tallest building would be in Indianapolis. Obviously Cleveland would be next as well as Chicago. So I'm quite proud of that! However, if this building was just 40 feet taller she would have made wikipedia's tallest buildings in America list. It seems they start at 700' +! That would have been nice! Anyway, I love Great American Tower. It's beautiful and unique to our area. I love the blue/glass facade. I think once it's built people will warm up to it. p.s. I think the tiara is definately adding the overall feel of a ~700 footer. Without the tiara it looked short, but now it's starting to dawn on me the true might of this beast of a building.
  12. Why the hell is the City of Cincinnati so hell bent on having one of these ridiculous things in it's limits. I really hate the street-car idea.
  13. This building if it were a woman would be a BBW. Some men just can't handle the extra width these beauties provide. I personally think once the tiara is built it will look taller. Standing next to it downtown you don't even notice the extra "girth". The webcam pic has it looking pretty tall to me.
  14. I'm no expert on HVAC systems that's my dad. So I'll yield to whatever you guys have to say about that. Thanks for the input! I just noticed they added another piece of the tiara on the north end. Check out the webcam!!!
  15. Awesome shots man! That beauty sure looks good when it's sunny out! They only got one air handling unit? Seems rather limited given the sq footage of the building.
  16. mmmm...figures. Like I said it doesn't make any sense to make it enclosed. Glad my comments were vindicated. 8-)
  17. OMG I laughed so F'n hard at this...classic dude...rofl! "40 Different webcams" But you do know that 6,650" is like 554'...which is shorter than the building is proposed and of course shorter than Carew Tower excluding the Flag Pole. :-D So it would be just a regular building in Cincy with Laser Mirrors and 40 webcams in 40 different locations. Hey that might not be such a bad idea, seriously. I can think of 40 locations to put those cameras to show the different perspectives it would give. Awesome idea! 1) Devou Park, 2) Mount Adams 3) Dayton, Ky 4) Covington, Ky 5) Carew Tower Observation Deck? 6)...
  18. We shall see soon so this a moot point.
  19. Obviously those are old unofficial renderings. This is the actual official rendering of the building. This clearly has the tiara non-enclosed. I'm sorry it doesn't make sense to make this thing have glass panelling - too expensive; think Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the idea of a glass panels. I just don't know if that's really the plan or not.
  20. Glass panelling? Wow, that interesting...I'm more excited to see what the heck this is going to look like now. Most of those renderings had it open frame. What are your sources Sherman?
  21. http://queencitysquare.com/construction.htm Pls bookmark this link! Soon Carew Tower will be bowing down to CincySkyline's new Ruler, her Majesty GAT @ QCS!
  22. I heard that the manufacturer made a slight error in the length of the top frame for the tiara and it will actually be 670'? > End Snarky Comment! LOL Seriously tho, I wonder how they're going to light this thing? It will be interesting to see it at night.
  23. They probably included the core's height which when built the tiara will included about 28' of it. So no it won't be 695'.
  24. Sweet Pictures man!
