  1. Ever since the webcam came back online from the last time it was "frozen" it has been about 1hr and 30 mins behind real time. It is still working though. About the crane, yes it hasn't moved in months. It is possible that the person had their information wrong or the weather was just not good enough to do the jump. I didn't even see the crane crews come this weekend. So who knows. To be honest they have enough room to work with until they need to jump again.
  2. I couldn't get shots but almost the whole pit has garage levels built. Maybe only 1/8 of it left to build. Plus more than half of the whole site is at street level. I was impressed with the progress.
  3. I managed to get one shot of the banks, but I was quite impressed with the progress so far. Anybody know the height of this garage? It looks like at least another level is planned.
  4. I stand corrected. It is possible to see it from there.
  5. where the hell is dayton ky? LOL Never heard of it. You just said Dayton I assumed you meant Dayton OH?
  6. B.S. that tower is only 565 ft off the ground. The curvature of the earth would prevent you from seeing that sort of thing anyway. Not including the effect the atmosphere will have on the visibility of the person looking out. Plus Dayton is what 55-60 miles away? I know you were just joking, but I wanted to point out the obvious.
  7. No problem Jack. My camera officially sucks ass now :whip:. It died taking those pictures . I now have to save up hundreds of dollars to buy a new one. BTW the bottom facade looks kind of glossy you can't tell in those picture, but it is a unique sort of stonish/marble material.
  8. From Today. Jack, here are some shots of the curtainwall installation not seen on the webcams. Enjoy folks! The alluminum facade really looks nice in person, and I think it's going to be a beautiful building when finished. The bottom facade looks neat too! North Crane gone:
  9. and why is QCS shorter than the scripps building. Terrible depiction of cincinnati if you ask me! :x
  10. They have literally done nothing in terms of installing curtain wall for the month of February. In January they installed 5 floors worth of aluminum siding and completed the south bottom facade. This month, they did 1.5 floors of aluminum siding and a small section of facade on the west side of the building. I know it snowed, but it only snowed for a few days and most of those days were on the weekend. I believe they're sleeping on the job now. And when are they supposed to start installing the Tiara? Begining or End of March??
  11. Topping out for Great American Tower January 19, 2010 | CINCINNATI ENQUIRER CINCINNATI - The ceremonial topping out marked the completion of the behemoth towers structural skeleton which includes 5,800 tons structural steel and more than 63,000 cubic yards of concrete. At 563 feet above Third Street, the tower's current height surpasses downtown's 495-foot tall PNC Tower and 468-foot Scripps Center. It will remain the building's peak height until work begins in March on a grand 400-ton tiara that will top off the tower, crowning it at 665 feet. For more click link above.
  12. So I guess it is 665 instead of 660. This is from that press release by the developers. So I guess they know how tall the building will be since they're building it. Good news I guess!
  13. Well, it looks like the steel should be topping out shortly. Within the next 1-2 weeks if there are no delays. Good progress overall for this site. They're getting this thing done and in a hurry!
  14. Is it me or does PNC Tower look like a lit cigarette in that pic haha...I'd still say QCSII will look weird. Did anybody notice how QCS is standing out in the aerial footage of the football game last Saturday against the jets. It was cool.
  15. That is hilarious...
  16. You can see the "short fat" beauty queen starting to take shape in this picture. Other pictures suggest it would appear larger but in this picture it looks short and fat, now that crown of the building is taking shape (I'm not talking about the tiara) just the "crown" (i.e. the unique shape of the building as it reaches it's full height.) I'm actually quite dissapointed with this building. :(
  17. Looks like the core is complete. They've started disassembling the concrete core form this week. Soon the steel will reach full height. :-D
  18. Love it. Oh I get it now because Cincinnati had previously only had "one" building over 500ft (Carew Tower), it didn't quite satisfy your requirements. But now that it has "more than one" (QCSII + Carew Tower) buildings over 500 ft. It can thus be classified as a Large City. Now I understand what you meant. Great description BTW.
  19. Really? Do You really think this city has progress that much? I'd say when the city has the banks built, the casino, and a few other mid-tall buildings built (2-3) then they will classify as a large. But then again this classification was based on your arbitary scale. The city has a few gaps to fill. Namely between the whole of downtown and the Kroger Building. Why is that thing all the way out by it's lonesome? LOL
  20. Yeah big companies are all about saving money right now, and I doubt they would want invest millions to improve an image locally. Though maybe in the future it won't be a bad idea. Working from home, wow how are they ever gonna get anything done! LOL :-P
  21. Yeah but if they are adding one more wouldn't that be the "mechanical mezzanine", they would still have 1 extra floor? Or will it not be official since they didn't count the 13th floor? Nice pic btw!
  22. So the core must go above 41 stories then...I guess the top floors are for maintenance and elevator shaft housings... :? What flipping floor are they on now. I could have sworn I counted up to 41, and the 42nd was under that plastic sheeting stuff. I'm confused.
  23. Pics from the end of 2009 (almost). December 26, 2009. My camera is breaking on me...this maybe my last photoshoot. :x Christmas Tree:
  24. Awesome news!
  25. Look at how accurate Civvik's model is of QCSII from over a year ago compared to now as far as scale. The building just looks out of place over there for some reason. Most of those buildings look like concrete and this one looks well different. :wink2: Now: Image Credit: Johio
