  1. Did you have to post this in a thread? Or could you have PM'd me to ask this...as far as Urban Ohio goes this and the banks thread is my only concern. I follow many other forums as they discuss constructing towers. As Cygnus stated this is an exciting thing for Cincinnati, and I'm excited to watch it going up everyday and "every step" is exciting to me. I use to work in construction when I was a teen and I loved every minute of it, until I went to college... but if I want I can post every second of the day if need be...none of this concerns you however.
  2. Awesome!! I love seeing curtainwall go up! They haven't put much up yet at a regular pace...hopefull next month we'll see them move at a steady rate when installing the curtainwal...but then again i don't know the exact schedule for doing this.
  3. So I went downtown yesterday, I didn't bring my camera, but you can clearly see that the core is at the same height as Atrium II (350 FT) now which is cool. In about two months or the begining of December she should be taller than the Scripps center. The crane should be about 430 ft now! And guys I appologize for saying the curtainwall was different colors. I didn't realize until yesterday that those were not glass panels but vents of some kind in the front.
  4. Wow, they're raising the crane today I thought it would have been next Saturday. Coolio! So at this point they are about here: And the blue represents where I think they'll be by year's end with the steel.
  5. wow so they are officially half way up which means she should be topping out in march of next year which put vertical construction time right at one year! Awesome! :shoot:
  6. maybe this is new and so the curtainwall contains the original tint. While the other one has faded over time. I still think they are different colours.
  7. completely or just for that day? Also why does the curtain wall look lighter or grey compared to phase I which looks blue?
  8. Just curious but wasn't there suppose to be four cranes on site? I imagine they're going to need the fourth one to install the curtainwall once they get high enough because the one they got now would be pre-occupied with loading steel, etc...maybe I'm wrong? :|
  9. From a couple of days ago from Devou Park. My girlfriend took this with her crappy camera so sorry for the bad PQ.
  10. Awesome! Nice progress! I can't wait to see some banks photographs!
  11. they're working so fast it scares me! BTW the garage is coming along nicely. Looks as though they've hit a plateu? How thick is that sheet metal they're laying down for the floors? It looks mighty thin to be consider a floor? I thought they would lay concrete down or something. How are they doing the floors?
  12. wow, that's insane! lol talk about bad design!
  13. looks like the Curtainwall has wrapped around the southern end. Facing the webcam. Awesome! I'm so excited. Sherman or someone should take some pictures? It will be awhile before I head down there. Mabye two weeks!
  14. For those who live/work downtown? have they put up anymore curtainwall since last week?
  15. Wow awesome...i was wondering when they were going to start moving up. I remember seeing the curtain wall truck this morning. So I figured they were putting up more! WOOT!!!
  16. Yeah someone has already posted this bud!
  17. Moving right along I see!
  18. Yeah you can see it now in the distance from 471 also. I saw it when I was at the Riverfest 2009 this past weekend. They even got the air plane markers on lol! I love this! Go Cincinnati! I got a stupid question. Are they gonna knock out the walls between the two buildings where they are side by side or are they just gonna have those people looking next to a wall of glass at another bulding. On street level it looks like it's gonna be flush? I'm not sure what they're intentions are it would be neat if they join them. To make one super massive floor lol! Or at least a door to enter into the next building?
  19. Actually the steel is half way up the core is past half way (24 floors). The steel is on the 20th. Well they're working on the 20th so if you want to be technical no they're not completely halfway, but if you count the floors all the way up it's 20 steel "floor" frames up. Which is roughly or approximately halfway.
  20. OMG It's like they heard my complaints! LOL! Sweet I hope to see more!!!
  21. So I guess they're gonna wait until the core reaches full height before we see any curtainwall? They're already half way up?
  22. Actually he only has to go up 80 feet or so because where they tie it down they go up at that point. So it's not too bad, but man the view from that crane must be awesome. And they stay in there all day, only coming down if they have to poop. If they pee they use a bucket. At least that was what one of the guys told me.
  23. Man I bet the view on top of QCSII is awesome...haha look at those guys sitting down on the roof. Man what an awesome site I love the progress these guys are making. I honestly wish I could quit my job to work on this site. How fun would that be! I love construction work!
  24. Some one should take a screen shot of the construction cam tonight to see what it looks like when they have those fireworks. I bet that it will be an awesome view. To see all those people and the fireworks. I would but I'll be there so I can't. http://queencitysquare.com/construction.htm On second thought the angle may not be right, but it's worth a shot!
  25. escalators. the mounts of underground parking is staggering, albeit, necessary for a structure of that size. That was abig hole they have filled in on the north half.... Yeah I think it was something like 160Ft? Correct me if I'm wrong maybe it was 80Ft I know it was really deep at the back but not so much at the front where the tower itself is. They are just now getting out of that pit this week. So yeah that's one monster garage! LOL!!!
