  1. Not sure, but hoping so. It would help with overall access to Edgewater Park. Detroit Ave could also use a traffic light at W 73. I thought that I saw a Matt Zone FB post saying that would happen in mid-2018. Can't find it though ... so don't hold me to it 100%
  2. iirc, The punch-thru from 73rd to 70th is supposed to happen some time in 2018 at the southern edge of the parcel (roughly where Battery Park Blvd hits 73rd)
  3. Public meeting for proposed Lakeside Townhomes: Wednesday, April 19, 2017 6-7:00 pm. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel gym (6928 Detroit) "Vintage Development proposes 20 new townhome units on the parcel outlined in red ( between West 70th and West 73rd). A re-zoning has been requested. The meeting will consist of a presentation on the proposed new townhomes." (provided map shows parcel PPN 002-06-031; it's the northernmost plot just East of 73rd where the factory was demo'd)
  4. That's nice. Right down the tunnel at 76th eh? Wait ... is this a done deal or just a proposal?
  5. Cha looked to be open again when I walked by last night. Maybe the closure wa jut a momentary blip.
  6. We could certainly use a real full service grocery store closer. Just about everyone in our complex gets groceries in Lakewood or down at W.25th. For that stuff it's still a driving neighborhood. For coffee, wine, craft beer, nice cheese, dinner out we're fine. But need more population to coax a Constantino's or equivalent.
  7. Can't say for sure and I will have to go over and observe for myself, but those wires appear to be on the periphery of the development and even that utility pole in the center of the photo appears to route power lines down into tubes underground which, no doubt power the development. Yeah. Looking at that pic it's shot looking eastward from 65th and Father Caruso. Those utilities are running north-south up 65th street and aren't inside the Edison proje t proper. (I will confirm with my eyeballs as I walk the dog later :) )
  8. According to their FB page: CHA spirits & pizza kitchen February 10 at 12:24pm · Cha will be temporarily closed starting February 10th but we're looking forward to the opening of Terrestrial Brewing this spring next door. No worry! We'll be back. Well... I guess that's something ...
  9. Cha closed. Public notice on the front door. Something about taxes. :(
  10. Anyone got an inside scoop on Cha in the BP powerhouse? I heard a rumor (unverifiable) that they were close to closing. :(
  11. You weren't alone in that discussion! I was right there with you. (I'm the guy on Father Caruso :) ) My take-aways from that talk: 1) OK, some people don't like the color. ...chacun à son goût 2) Some people don't like new construction of any type. 3) Some people feel that tax abatements for new construction into the "cool" neighborhoods of Cleveland is starving growth in other neighborhoods 4) Some people have had personal issues with poor condo construction and presume that all new build in the city is shoddy. THey put forward that theory without evidence. 5) Some people just really, really, really don't get the attraction of urban living. The dude saying "But I could get a 4 bedroom in Strongsville for that price!" or "Buy a nice car and drive to culture!" #rollseyes
  12. From what I was told, it will start out as a tap house with plans for food down the road. Currently scheduled to open in spring. I haven't heard the name of the brewery yet. Here's some news on it: Terrestrial Brewing Company to Activate the Battery Park Powerhouse Will be pet friendly too, both inside and out! Big thumbs up to that!
  13. Been watching the Battery Park power house building. There are a bunch of brewing tanks being set up inside. Anyone one know who is coming in there? Is it just a brewing facility or will be a brew pub venture?
  14. I've been watching the construction from the start (live in the neighborhod). I don't know anything about it, but reading here there was some concerns raised in this forum about the fact they they were "stick built" despite being 4-5 stories. What this means... hell if I know... but if I was buying a condo unit that might give me pause about the future. That said, if I were renting and wanted to live in the neighborhood I'd jump on it. They have built in a little walk way that connect directly into the 65th St Edgewater tunnel. I think they're going to be a hit.
  15. Met the guy who is building on the double parcel recently demolished at 67th & Fr. Caruso. I was figuring someone was going to cram a small row of townhouses on it, but the plan is for two custom-build single family homes, not adjoined. Guy told be the name of the architect but I already forgot. Just my gut takeaway from the conversation ... it's going to be really nice and high end.
  16. They started demolishing the Jersey barriers in the median of the shoreway today.

  18. No. I just saw that demo (the NW corner of 58th and Herman) and wondered the same myself.
  19. I lost my awesome downtown view when they built stage four of Casa Belvedere. It was a bummer. But I survived.

  21. Update on construction at the bluffs site. (Shot from the top of the W. 65th tunnel entrance looking East) April 2016: June:
  22. Battery Park Planned Urban Development Meeting Wednesday, May 11. 6pm Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (6928 Detroit Ave) To discuss Vintage Development's proposed plan for the area between W70th and W. 73rd as well as the connector street.
  23. That's gonna be nice. Also looking forward to the street getting punched through from 70th to 73rd.
