There was a story on the front page of Crain's this week (2/23/09), subscriber only, so there's no link, that Nehst Studios is "prepared to bring production of $80 million to $100 million of moviemaking - two years output- to a production center at the Cleveland Convention Center if, as expected, the Ohio General Assembly passes a film tax credit bill." I would assume that can't happen if the Convention Center is refurbished for a medical mart. I also assume there's enough other vacant space around for movie production.

Don't forget that "back in the day" a lot of the stone masons were immigrants, such as the people who settled in Little Italy and worked at Lakeview Cemetary.
