Thanks for this information man, this is the kind of information I can only get from someone who knows the area. $520 is definitely affordable and being fully furnished would be great since I really don't have money to blow on furniture. Being close to campus is a major plus since i'd rather not have to travel far. Being close to the action is great and gives me an opportunity to meet new people which I really want to do since I know no one from Ohio. Well i'm going to OSU Columbus this spring quarter and I am still searching for a place to stay. I usually use the OSU Off-Campus housing search to look for places to live, but I still don't know if its a good area to live or not. Does anyone know of the nice areas around campus to live? Are there any new high rise apt. buildings or new apt. buildings in general to live in? Any help with finding the right area around campus to live would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Ray

I'm actually from Montgomery County, located in Germantown, about 20 min from D.C., Chevy Chase, and Bethesda. I've lived here my whole life, should be a nice change of scenery for me.

Check out forgottenoh.com . The guy who runs the site also wrote a book called Forgotten Columbus. I'm positive there's some insane asylums mentioned. Most likely some you could infultrate - maybe even locally in Columbus. Yeah, you're right, that is kind of strange but you're a psych major so we'll let it pass :) Columbus doesn't have many abandoned warehouses and stuff. Most have been converted to condos already lololol There's an indie movie theater in Bexley you'll want to check out. Don't worry about meeting girls. There's parties everywhere and students at OSU are very open to meeting new people. It's one of the best schools to go to if you're looking for random hook-ups, if you're into that. If you want to make friends right off the bat, you should live with room mates or dorm. Join a few clubs. There's a million clubs at osu. Thanks man, that is some great info there. From what I hear joining clubs really helps to meet new people. I'm just a little nervous because I know no one here and i'm pretty much starting from scratch, but its good to hear that meeting people here isn't that hard to do.

Thanks David for the informative post. I appreciate it! I'm 20 years old, but i'll be 21 by March when classes start. I am a Psychology major. I am hoping to meet new people and make a lot of friends. I already joined BuckeyeStangs forum since Mustangs are a major hobby of mine. Besides cars, I really enjoy working out and staying healthy. I know OSU is a big school and I hope meet some girls lol. I do like to party and have a good time. I enjoy watching movies, playing some xbox every now and then, I also like urban exploring and knowing more about history behind old asylums for the mentally ill(I know sounds odd). I did apply for housing, but I wouldn't mind getting an apartment. I've been looking through the off campus housing section on the OSU website and have bookmarked a few that I like. I would like to live in an area where a lot of other students are so I can get to know new people.

Hey guys i'm going to be attending OSU this spring. I'm from MD and know of no one from Ohio. If you guys could lets me know about some hot spots around Columbus or some cool things to do on the weekends that'd be great. I'm really looking forward to going to OSU this spring.
