With all the corruption and bribery charges there is a chance this could come back up for a vote. If it does, and there is probably only a 5% chance, and the US still loses I think that would be the last straw for FIFA as a credible organization.

I think top 4 would be a little high, but he is still the only player we should consider. The beauty of getting Irving and hopefully Kanter is that the entire nucleus of the team will be ridiculously young. Rose, D Williams, Chris Paul...that's about it as far as ELITE. Meaning total package. Rondo would be up there if it weren't for his lack of offensive game and so would someone like Nash if he weren't as old as he is. You can argue guys like Westbrook to be up there but I don't think he's a complete PG. Irving can create for himself and others, he'll come into the league as a pretty good defender already and only improve plus he can play off the ball with his shooting ability. Yeah, young would be one word if our starting line up was IRVING (1), EYENGA (2), GEE (3), HICKSON (4) and KANTER (5) which is likely the case unless we lose out on Kanter and/or trade for a legit, veteran 3. Either way I don't see Andy starting at center this season, they'll keep Samuels around if need be and have him play or they'll start that Erden kid who we picked up last year. But he's only in his second or third year as well. I think we all found out the hard way that Andy isn't cut out to be a starting center. He's an energy back up for the 4/5 spots, that's where he's most productive. I would and will Argue that Westbrook should be up there, along with John Wall. Both of whom are young and still learning the decision making aspect at the next level. A PG in reality is at least a 2-3 year project to get to the highest level. I don't think Irving will ever get to where DRose, Paul, or Williams are or where Westbrook or Wall are likely to be, but he still should be better than just about everyone else. If Baron Davis can teach the kid all the good skills (insane vision, good touch, and ability to drive) he has and none of the bad (laziness, bad fitness habits, can jack stupid shots at the most in-opportune times) i think that trade could pay off in spades. re: Andy. Yeah he is an energy guy. A big energy guy, but at least one that can give you a solid 20 min at the 4 or 5. He's obviously undersized to play the 5, but if the whole team goes small it works because he can run.
  3. The article states that they have "ignage rights" which may not be the same thing as naming rights. Although in 5 years I'm sure it will either be known as the Huntington Bldg or still refereed to as BP Tower.

  5. ^^ re: Time Keeping - time is kept on the field by the Ref, so technically he is the only one that knows how much time is left in the game. This is also true for Football (American, in case your friend is reading and got confused). It is just easier for the time keepers to keep track of the clock as there are much more defined stoppages of play. This is also why they are able to "reset the game clock". Soccer doesn't have the same stoppage in the course of play, even Goal/Corner Kicks are happening as the clock is ticking. The only stoppage should occur for injury or a goal. And to try and reset the game clock during those could be problematic. And welcome to the the Worlds Sport!! Be sure to catch some of the Gold Cup games this summer, the quality of soccer should be better than the MLS.
  6. Actually it would be nice if they just did a little maintenance. There are many other stations that need to be completely replaced. Brookpark, and most East Side stations...
  7. Don't forget the Flaming Ice Cube - Vegans gotta eat to.
  8. Pura Vita, next to Cadillac Ranch, has their sign up and looks like they have been doing training or other soft opening type activities. A sign on the door states they will be open to the public beginning June 6th. The space looks really good from what can be seen. Also while the sign is completely readable when you exit Tower City, which is a good distance away.
  9. Here's to hoping that it is someway used in the upcoming Avengers movie. That way it wont be just a little explosion, but a nive massive one!!
  10. Actually, the waitress didn't tell me this *wink*, but they were not in financial trouble at all, the offer was just really good. Couldn't get a number out of her though. I think that's the only thing on their menu I like. For everything else, they're just a more expensive Applebee's Whoa, thanks for the info. I never visited Metro, but after reading about Bar Louie (I never heard of it until now), I would rather keep Metro :( I agree, but if they weren't in financial trouble and Bar Louie made a Godfather offer then I would at least take some solace in what that says about the location and what they expect from Cleveland as a whole
  11. I have not been out to CP in a long while now, but I remember that compared to Legacy Village it felt even less "real". I think this could make CP more viable and possibly make that development more attractive. Maybe it will make Stark so much money he can develop those PS parking lots :drunk:  :drunk: how could it possibly feel less real than legacy? CP actually has office and residential over retail and uses mostly parking garages. Legacy is an outdoor mall with gigantic parking lots Like I said I haven't been out there in a while. And actually haven't been out to Legacy for even longer. Working downtown everyday really doesn't endear itself to exploring "Lifestyle Centers"

  13. Google Maps lists Harvard and 271 as 27 min from Middleburg Heights, and Crocker Park as 26 min. 480 between 77 and Warrensville is often a hellhole in both directions during both rush hours. Middleburg to Westlake would be a breeze by comparison. Not so much due to the terrible on-ramp to 480 west. I actually believe it was designed that way to keep those south of 480 from going west. It is an absolute nightmare at anytime of day. Throw in extra traffic going to AG and I can envision that area becoming a true clusterf**k.

Did zombies just jump the shark??
  15. Having had to make the drive out to Crocker for another job, it is a PIA! Mind you this was before the Crocker Sterns extension was created, but I can't imagine this commute being any better.
  16. Does anyone have the contact information for those who should be contacted. It is impossible to find on the city website.
  17. +1 I rate it as an opportunity missed. The building could have been soooooo much better, but it's functionality is still an overall positive. More students living DT will create a more active DT which is something we all want.
  18. Stated the way you desire it sounds like each building would be on a month to month lease. Not exactly ideal for someone running a restaurant/bar/club. I don't think many/any clients would have stayed in those buildings once the plans for FEB were released. They would have closed or moved once their lease was up. I really don't think the outcome would have been any different. Well it would have been different if the economy didn't nose dive...
  19. But why spend any money on that green space when if everything goes to plan in 5 years you will be tearing it up?? If the project gets delayed indefinitely then we can start pressuring to have something more permanent installed.
  20. To be honest that wasn't the developers plan either. But as no one was going to give them money for their, at the time, speculative project this is what we get.
  21. Were they poached though? In the article there is no mention of any deals being made with the city. It actually sounds more like they are just consolidating their facilities. If they were unable to find a site downtown within the price range they were seeking then it would make sense that they ended up in the suburbs. Plus the CEO seemed to have a pretty set idea of what he wanted, and it was not going to be downtown.
  22. I could give them the walkway (begrudgingly) if they demo the Stanley block and keep the Columbia Building. The diagonal crosswalk will be monstrous, but not sure if there is a good way around it. The tunnels I had hoped were at least partially there are not, and I'm sure all kinds of utilities and sewers would be in the way.
  23. KJP, do you know what is underneath Ontario there? Is there any hop of constructing a tunnel as opposed to a skyway? And it looks like they may be adding onto the gateway garage in the future. I think demolishing that garage to rebuild it is a waste, when it shouldn't be too hard to add on. Also, can we do some Horse Trading and exchange demolition of the Stanley and save the Columbia? IMO that is the more important building to retain.
  24. The Crew should be a middle of the pack team. They play good defense, but have very little ability to maintain possession. Our midfield is disappointing. However because the East right now is really weak they can sneak up into the top half of the standing. They will likely make it back into the playoffs but quickly bounced.
  25. They could still build the Welcome Center on the corner of Prospect and Ontario, just make the space all along High St the valet area. Then link that part to the welcome center on the corner. Google shows a little alleyway there so build the connection there. Expand the Gateway North Garage and Done.
