You take that back. We did end up using some of the things you suggested. Besides, sometimes you have to let the wife decide what she wants to do and just go along for the ride.
2. I think Holmgren knew he was doing this after the Cincy game.
3. Dayton won an ugly 2OT game on 1/1/11. They had New Mexico locked up at the end of Regulation and did not score in the last 4 min at all. Kind of glad that I couldn't watch the game, I may have to buy a new TV from throwing things at it. http://espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=310012168
4. Well it was their building so they didnt need to go far...
5. Com'n do that sh!t yourself, you get to play with a nail gun for christ sakes!! :-D
6. Understaffed indicates he doesn't have enough decent, reliable staff to serve the customers he has, and if you add his "tired" comment to it, it sounds like he's probably putting in 80-100 hour weeks himself. It's a bad problem in restaurants, for sure - people calling off, not showing up, handling scheduling and changes, etc. It's not a job I'd want to have. This is part of the reason there is a drug/alcohol problem in the Restaurant World. The stress and crazy hours one ends up working, if you want to disappear to somewhere else but know that you need to work another 12-14 hours tomorrow, well there's a drug for that.

the only two hockey movies that come to mind are Slapstick ... and Sudden Death. There has to be more solely because I dont want to think of Sudden Death as the 2nd best hockey movie.

Oh lawd. You again! :P Honestly, I wouldn't mind learning how to X-Country ski as it looks like a good work out. Ohh come on, its always entertaining to see tall people ski. :D  :-D I'm 6ft 4in tall and ski quite gracefully thank you. See MTS its not that hard. I have a 6'7" friend that I really want to see on skis, but finding size 17 boots have been a problem.

Ohh come on, its always entertaining to see tall people ski. :D  ;D Oh please, plus, they dont have enough fabulous clothing to me to really be interested in skiing. MTS...I'm so disappointed! Who would have thought the king (or is it queen?) of shopping wouldn't know there are tons of "fabulous" clothing lines exclusively for skiing? Just show up in Aspen of Vail a day early and you can get fitted with some great stuff... I'm a beach baby, not a snow bunny. I really dont like snow or Colorado! Then we need to get you to Lake Tahoe. Giant lake and skiing in the surrounding mountains.

Well the wife is the one that got me into skiing, but you definitely hit the mother lode. Condo in Vail. We are going out to Beaver Creek/Vail in a month. So I need to get in shape, those runs will kill you. That is the biggest difference, out west you tire so much quicker. Probably a combination of Altitude and Distance. But mad do your legs feel like jello by the end of the day.

I have never seen anyone mention whether or not they are active skiers. And after doing a quick search of the site it doesn't seem to be a topic that comes up a lot. There does seem to be a general distain toward winter and the snow that accompanies it. I think the best way to change that mindset is to create a view that winter is playtime!! :-D :-D I've been chomping at the bit to get out since I bought a new pair last weekend. My New Skies The Wife figured out that we are going to end up spending $6,000 over the next 3 months on trips. This was before we bought new skis too. I wonder if I have a problem? I was wondering if anyone else is that active/demented?
13. Yesterday may have just paid in full the entire year's worth of monthly RTA passes. Some Co-workers left early to try and still get home at a reasonable hour. After 45 min of waiting in their car, in the parking garage, not moving down even 1 floor, some returned to work as it was pointless. This whole time I was working. At 5:00 I walked over Terminal Tower, caught my regular train and experienced no delays (there was no snow on the west side). This morning everyone is sharing stories of how long it took them to get home. I had the shortest commute by far.
14. Agreed with GP, before his post was removed. Whether or not that was what McCleveland meant the comment did come off as condescending toward The Sportsman's owners and operators.
15. Yes, yes it does. It was a bit strange and I couldn't put my finger on it, but that is definitely the vibe.
16. Oh Laaaaawd!!!!! You people ski? You're allowed into a Resort? We go to ski, not to be seen. We don't hang out in the Resort. Its a waste of time, there are tracks to be laid. Although I would like to see you give it a try. I have a feeling it would be a hoot watching you try some of the bunny hills. Typical Westsiders. What are we going to do with you people? You go to the resort and never spend anytime being seen. SMH! I don't ski darling, It's not one of the country club sports, us people of color love overtaking. However, I do have the appropriate garments in case skiing, somehow, becomes chic. I've have been on ski's before, but it's a sports for midgets. The lower your center of gravity and all. Since I like to run, I did - sort of - like x country skiing, in a Third World artic sort of way! Well, I guess I should restate the being seen part. When we are skiing we are usually with either our ski club or in the Cleveland racing program. Most of the participants are older than us, and both the wife and I are more like young stars in this group. So we don't need to be seen as much as people want to be seen with us. I would keep those muscles loose and ready for skiing MTS. I think it is going to be, and already is, much more popular with the African American community than any other winter sport. Actually I do like the Biathalon (you get a rifle!) and the luge. Ohh good gawd!! That's just what we need you with a firearm...

Yeah that was one of their selling points. Well that and about $1,000,000 per vote. This vote stinks of corruption.

Man MTS gets back from whatever holiday he was celebrating for the past week and things get mixed up quicker than basket of cupcakes at a Weight Watchers meeting.

The '94 WC still ranks as the best selling and most lucrative; even 16 years later. FIFA knows this. 2026 WC is going to be an interesting vote. China is disallowed as Qatar is included in the Asian Continent. So it is likely to come down to England and the USA. Maybe a South American country too, but I think those two will be the likely favorites. And at that point I think it will go to England. They haven't had a WC since '66.

22. ^ I need a new damn set of skis MTS and those ain't cheap. So spending less for dinner had to be done. And if you know of any way to get new skis on the cheap I will gladly listen.
23. With MTS you've always done something wrong. Don't worry though its more like a love/hate thing than anything else.
24. Blame the wife. We did go to other stores, and actually a lot over in Greenwich Village. But just never found anything to purchase. Next time, we'll call you up MTS and you can guide us to all your favorite haunts (although if CDM is right I can pass on Daffy's)
25. Saturday and Sunday did happen, I just got busy the past few weeks doing other things and didn;t complete this. Saturday Its really hard to wake up and be functional at 8:00am after saying out til 3:00am the previous night. At least without conditioning, I was able to do this all the time in college but that's a different world. Thankfully there is a Dunkin Donuts in Rockefeller Plaza on the way to the Subway. Took the B to Columbus Circle, which made me realize some thing. The dive bar we were at wasn't far from here because I remember seeing the fountain while walking(stumbling) home. Also, word to people shooting movies, if you don't random people in a shot block off the subway entrance/exit. Not sure what was shooting there, but we walked right out into it. Personally I was much too hungover to really care, but come on man! (this was the first of two times we may/may not have been in a shoot accidentally.) Central Park. Really just wanted to walk through Central Park, we were walking up the western side toward the American Museum of Natural History. It was again gorgeous out, and there may have been 10,000 or so people running/biking on the main street through Central Park. Also, was very surprised to see that rollerblading has not completely died out. The scale and surprising seclusive-ness was what impressed me the most. It feels like it's own little world while you are in there. American Museum of Natural History. Very interesting place. The main hall with the dinosaur skeletons is amazing, huge too. The museum itself is a maze in the truest sense of the word. The map is very handy. Seeing the stuffed animals was different, it really shows that is is an "old" museum. There are areas that are much, much more interesting than others. Specifically the Earth and Space exhibit, and any of the Evolution/Fossil remains exhibit. We wandered around for a good while. Back to Central Park. Literally walked into the middle found a bench and took a break. Didn't do anything. It was fantastic. We both may have taken a little naps. Beygolu (Lunch) 81st st & 3rd Ave. One of the wife's co-workers had recommended this place, and if you like Mediterranean this is a good place to go. Although their menu did seem to focus more on appetizers (meze). We split 3 different ones, but should have just gotten the ezme (spicy vegetables), it was really really good. Along with good bread lunch here was more than enough. We had thought of walking up the street to Luke's Lobster Shack but we were stuffed. We didn't expect the appatizers to be as filling as they were, and I was a bit sad as I did kinda want a lobster roll. Metropolitan Museum of Art. I think you could spend a day here and never see everything. I'm sure everyone has their own idea of what is the best to see here but I personally liked the Sculpture Room, The Roman and Greek Art Exhibit and the 19th Century Paintings. It really is amazing how vast the collection is, and how easy it is to get lost. During this entire day up until this point I didn;t really have a concept of what time it was. We had reservations at the Four Seasons for dinner so we started wandering back. The wife was kind of looking for shopping, but not really, so we wandered around Park, and Lexington and ended up taking the 4 train from 68th st back down to 51st where the hotel was. Dinner. After getting back to the hotel and relaxing for a good 30 min. (watched the Buckeyes beat PSU too so that was good) we needed to get ready. There was just on problem. Neither of us were feeling like getting dressed anywhere near what we'd need to probably go to the Four Seasons. We debated about just going, we looked for places nearby that were more what we were looking for. Neither worked. Finally decided to use the front desk to our benefit, what did they recommend. Basic advice was "go to the meat packing district, you can't go wrong." So that's what we did. Before this point the subways had run like we had expected. Now we encountered "service interruptions." I waited too long and can't remember exactly how we got to 14th st, but I think it was a combination of the E only running to 34th and the F the rest of the way. Pastis. This where we ended up, and it was good too. Its a decent sized Bistro, but they were busy. Inside. Oustide not so much, remember it's still pretty darn nice while we were there. Outside and instant service was a much better call than waiting for a table inside. Dinner was really good. Had steak tartar for the first time and was really impressed. And I think it was a 1/3 the price Four Seasons would have been. (which with ski season coming up, that comes in handy (wife calculated that we are going to spend @ $6,000 in the next 3 months :-o :-o)). We stopped at a bar before going home, Gaslight I think. Ok bar, nothing special. Hudson bar was special. Didn't have the same issue getting home as the way there. F train to bed. Sunday New York may not sleep, but on Sunday morning it was in a serious need of some Red Bull. Almost (maybe we did, not sure) walked into another Movie/TV shoot. They were filming on Madison, and we were walking down toward Grand Central Station. We finally got detoured, but it was after the shoot. Again just shoddy. If we are in either of these we look like everyone else in the morning, not awake with a full thing of coffee in hand. Grand Central Station. It's big and open and the giant glass windows really light the place up. I wish I would have stopped in on a work day as opposed to the weekend. It was pretty empty while we were there, but you get the sense that could be completely different on a Monday morning. As it was empty we didn't stay long. Back up Fifth Ave. The wife may have bough something at the Louis Vutton store if they were open, thankfully they were not. Stopped in at FAO Shwartz. That is an entertaining place. Every stuffed animal you could imagine. And Lego's Galore! It was fun and could be deadly with children. At this point it's only about 10:00 and the rest of the goals for the day are to watch the Browns game and make our flight. So we decide to go down to the 9/11 site, specifically to the Memorial "store" (not sure what it was called, they had the renderings and such for the future WTC site.) It was pretty moving. Packed too. It will be really, really impressive once they finish the memorial. Took the 1 train to Macy's, the wife wanted one more go around. Not really sure why entirely, but I wasn't going to stop her. Again she couldn't find whatever it was she wanted. I really don't think she knew and that was the problem. She can't just "shop" like most girls. She shops like a guy, get what you need and that's it no really bullsh!ting around. Lunch, and more importantly the Browns game was at Bills Burger Bar. Which was right across from the hotel and came in handy later. Sitting at the bar, and the bartender is no help what soever with the game. He could care less. Now the server that was working the bar area tables we traded barbs with. And that game was a good one to do so. Making fun of their kicker for missing a 24 yd kick was good times I must say. Massive misfortune struck in that we did not get to witness McCoy's game tying drive. We had to catch our train back to LGA. But once we were on the Q33 heading toward LGA we were rocking those phones for updates like nothing else. Sadly we know how that game ended. Once again LGA is a disaster. Tiny, cramped, dingy, and those are the nicer qualities. While we were waiting the Fire Alarm went off, no one moved. I suppose if there really was a fire it would allow more planes to access the terminals anyway. Overall NYC was a sh!tton of fun. I want to go back, but it may be more fun with a group.
