  1. RnR, when I boarded @ 7:30 there were only 4 so it could be like MTS said and that they were spreading out. Or it could have been an overlap in their shifts. Also, I think I have only seen at most 4 at TC checking people.

Hey everyone has a smile on their face when enjoying the colonel's finest
  3. the camera on the iphone is terrible. Isnt; there an app for this???
  4. The sign for Enviroments for Business is going up today. I took a picture with my phone, but it's pretty terrible. I suggest MayDay take a stroll and get a nice pretty picture.
  5. ^However shouldn't we be accomadating the market for downtown office tennates that want Class A space? if there is a shortage of this within the city and there are firms that are willing to move to the city if this space were available the I say build it. If it is a firm that has grown too big for their current space and needs to move within the city then hopefully the space that has opened up will entice some company to move into it. If there really is the shoratge of this class of space in the city, as McCleveland says, then there needs to be something built to meet demand.
  6. ^Considering the Credit crunch and lack of financing I am happy that they are able to consider doing something instead of leaving it as a "scooby-doo ghost town"
  7. I would actually like to see the ped zone to extend along High and include E 2nd. I just think it is amazing that the Cleats over there has made it and that this would be a tremendous help. Additionally I would hope that is would encourage more development along Prospect.
  8. Shameless plug alert I understand you are from Atlanta and Skiing is not as big an activity, but you should check out the various ski clubs in the area, www.skicleveland.com has a list of all of them. I am actually a member of one, Fagowees Ski Club www.fagowees.org, and there are many different activities that are done through out the year besides skiing. I would recommend checking them out.
  9. I would say it is a great temporary fix. Adresses the confusing nature of the problem and hopefully fixes it. As long as it is a temporary solution and the UI sofware is updated. We cant let this become the fix.
  10. I understand that it is a soaking tub, but I still don't like it. I dont think it is a very good look.
  11. Nope, the tile should go all the way up the wall. Also I'm not a fan of homes where there is not a four piece (double sinks, Shower, tub and water closet) master suite. At that price point and location, those units should have all the bells and whistles. But that's just me. I full heartedly agree this is why I did put tile all up the wall in the shower when remodeling it. It was a pain in the a$$ as I had never done tile work before, but it turned out beautifully. Half wall tile just looks cheap, and half wall tile throughout the whole bathroom is dated very dated (this is what i replaced, started tearing things out last year and just finishing the closet now. the wife was not too happy about the length of the project).
  12. I was afraid of something like that.
  13. Do schools still bus? Not "bus" as in drive kids across town to achieve racial balance, but instead just moving kids from one suburban/exurban sprawl zone to another to get them to a massive centralized middle or high school. Thats what I mean. In cuyahoga county I dont know any school district that buses kids to school. When I was in Junior High School some of the kids that lived in the southern portion of Shaker or the Western end of Shaker Square/fairhill were bused. What happened to biking to school? Sure they do, most of the outer ring suburbs w/i cuyahoga bus to school. With main artierial streets as the only real way to get around it isn't feasibly to bike to school.
  14. If everything falls into place for the commuter rail when could this be running?
  15. i like how everyone assumes that it will be gutted when to assign naming rights a certian percentage of the building must be filled by that company. Im sure its not as high as 80% of the company to assign naming rights but I would imagine that it is more than 30%. If I am wrong then please correct me. And yes NCB did have a large amount of leased/owned building in surrounding area that are being consolidated. Anthoner good thing about the new sign -> it will be back lit and stand out more than the old ncc logo did imo.
  16. ^in addition to all those points it would be a long ride from cleveland. I believe it is an hour ride from Lorain and I would guess it to be a 2 hour ride from cleveland. That is a long time on a boat, i know as I drove a boat from Sandusky to Cleveland for the air show. now this was at about 20 MPH not the 40 of the Jet and I was driving so not nearly as enjoyable. Besides if we are going to be operating a commuter rail line from lorain to cleveland then we will have direct access.
  17. Yes when they were starting out they likely had a storefront as they had to move their product before they were able to sign distribution deals. All I am saying is that there is a sizable risk for a company that operates as a distributor to enter into the retail side. This was why I asked if they had a retail store at their HQ/Distribution center. Some will do this as the RE costs are nil considering they own the land, shipping (and even cross town counts in a perishable product) is in the back. What comes to my mind is Tofts out in Sandusky, they are a much smaller operation but they have a retail store at the front of their HQ. I can't think of a stand alone Tofts in Sandusky.
  18. Do they have a retail store at their HQ/Dist center? I dont think a distributor getting into the retail biz is necessarily a good move. Its not their strength. Their strength is making quality ice cream here in cleveland. Now if you would like to open a few retail stores and sell scoops of Pierre's then that would be great, especially as this is one segement that is lacking DT.

Sounds like someone may be purchasing a "flintstone mobile" in the near future. Yabadabooo!!!
  20. Like EagleFan said, not faster in the mornings due to not many people ever having to pay on the trains. However, I have noticed that the train I take has been arriving at TC at a pretty consistant time each morning. So I think over all it is a good thing. And hopefully the confusion of the new payment system is ironed out once more people have used it.
  21. What is going in that space? And now that you say that I do recall seeing workerrs going in and out. So if construction is just starting I would not have seen them previously. Aside: Wake up Brain time to work again.
  22. Is that the parcel in the middle of the street that is currently boared up?
  23. Self proclaimed, maybe.....but by nature we are not a true carnivore. People started eating meat because of climate changes, food shortage, and maybe even laziness.... but it was not their main diet. So what?... cavemen ate meat. I heard that a million times. Are we still cavemen? Or have we evolved? ....Do we have incisors that are designed to tear meat off bones...Or a longer snout that can reach up inside carcases and go after the intestines, liver, heart, lungs, etc.... Do we have ravishing claws and a big jaw to bring down your prey, or the speed to do so? Is our intestine short like a carnivore..or long like an herbivore..... Is out saliva acidic like carnivores, or more alkaline like an herbivore?... All physiology points into the direction that we are mostly if not all herbivore..... the only thing we have that makes us a great carnivore is a a brain...a gun and a slaughterhouse. People eat meat because they can....Not because they have too, or need to. Remember... I ate at all the beefy places too... Then something happened. I started thinking things over. If we're true carnivores, lets see how the fight goes between man without a gun, and wildebeest...just two bare brute animals battling it out. It always makes it easier to remove ourselves from such a process. But hey... I am not stopping anyone.....knock yourselves out...Just be good to your heart. Current Physiology dictates this yes, but we have evolved thanks to that grey muscle between the ears to make tools and use them. The opposable thumb allows a human to reach and grab to pull things to their mouth as opposed to a wolf that will need to use their mouth to make the same eating motion. While I would agree that there may be an overconsumption of meat in our modern world, it is foolish to say that we are by nature vegetarians. For a more in-depth read (and I should note that I only skimmed this as I don't think work would like me spending the entire day read this) http://www.beyondveg.com/billings-t/comp-anat/comp-anat-1a.shtml Imagine, a pro-vegetarian website providing a proof that we are not vegetarians by nature.
  24. I actually think the restaurant is a turn in the right direction, eventhough I am vegetarian. But I have to ask....Have you ever tried foods that are NOT cooked in animal fat? They're really delicious too.....and much better for you. I can guarantee you that my 'chicken tofu crumbles' will have you asking for seconds and thirds. ... Isn't this an oxymoron?
