US Economy: News & Discussion
This opens up a new can of worms in that how you accuratly estimate what something will generate. If most of the people that are going to be doing this could I would hope we wouldn't be in the mess we currently are.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Yes it is really, really bad. Standing in PS today I couldn't even figure out which bus was making which noise. It comes from everywhere, it echos off everything, it is annoying as sin. Some one is going to have a seizure(sp) from these things.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
It is amazing that the Med Mart was mentioned on Cle.com and there was not instant bashing of it. However, once is a mistake twice is a trend.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I agree that beeping buses is probably not the best way to solve this problem. But like Urbanlife and JPOP said this is thinking about a problem from a different angle. Which should be appreciated even in a terrible form. I have faith that darwin will weed this out as well.

Is downtown Cleveland a better place than 10 years ago?
take it from an NCB employee. It is much better. Plus although being acquired by PNC that doesn't mean the building will be going to mothballs completely. Things are progressing slowly. No one is sure what the overall loss will be, but it wont happen anytime soon.

Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
This recession is differnet than any that have come before since the Depression. Previously, not every sector of industry was as severly affected. Because this attacks specifically on the access to money it has affected industries that were previously considered recession proof.

Is downtown Cleveland a better place than 10 years ago?
Ok and what does Cleveland have now as sources of Pride? 1. The Cavs are rocking the world right now. I would say this is a great source of pride if people could stop worrying/whining about if LeBron will leave and enjoy it. 2. Playhouse Square/Art Museum - all the arts that the Cleveland area is invoved in. 3. Its not Detroit . . . but really people are actually bringing things here (MM). Buildings are getting being renovated and planned. I think there are things that are on the positive swing for downtown. It has been a hard decade, but that can be true of almost any rustbelt city.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
There is scafolding going up underneath the awning on the Euclid Side. Looks like they are either replaceing or doing some rehab work to this finally. I'm sure there has been a lot of work done on the inside during the cold months but it will be nice for the exteriors to get their much needed face lifts.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
Kind of interesting to bring up a map and zoom out enough to see where the general grid layout of the suburbs stopped and the squiggly streets of the subdivisons start. Seems like anything south of Pleasent Valley or Sprauge is all subdivisions. Intersing to take a gander at.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
As much as many of us don't like the slant that the PD puts on things, and slant may be a nice word there, I think that we as a community need it to survive. There is quality buried in there somewhere trying to get out. Some of the editors, like MTS alluded to, are half@ssing their job and really bringing the whole paper down with them.

Cleveland: Weston / Gilbane Warehouse District Plans
SO just how do you propose extending e4th? That would run it right through the Arcade and I'm pretty sure thats a historic landmark. I do like the idea of focusing on Frankfort as I think that creates a better vibe than the wider w6th. Also, my bad on the lack of parking on w6th. I forgot about the super lot on 9th. Although technically its not on 6th :)

Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
Its good to see that some elected officials are thinking with long term stratagies and not just pandering to the here and now. Granted many Mayors and city councils are not full time politicians so the part-time aspect lets them focus on what is going to be a good idea for the next 10 years not the next term.

Cleveland: Weston / Gilbane Warehouse District Plans
Isn't 668 Euclid going to be apartments? That what 5-6 blocks away. I think focusing on the hotel may be more benificial with its proximity to the MM/CC (assuming its built). Also, the parking garages may be needed as if they add more restaraunts/bars to the area it is really going to become a destination spot for all of suberbia to go to. And the parking at WHD is not that plentiful to begin with. I like taking the rapid to avoid this problem and if this is developed then I won;t have to walk through the creepy, at night at least, full square block of surface parking.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
And it may make the WFL usable again. Right now there is nothing on that line except the morning/afternoon rush from the Muny lot and for Browns games in the fall. And I don;t think the rush is that great on it anyway. Ideally this would be coupled with a redevoloped FEB. Ahh, dreams.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
I like the fact that we are considered to have the best developed system in the country, but at the same price wouldn't a Light rail line have been a better option. Especially due to the fact that they are not dependant on the price of oil. I think most of us are in agreement that prices will continue to climb thereby making electric a much more appealing option.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
The Flats was more of an entertainment district than a mixed use area, which is what it is supposed to redevelop as if money ever comes available again. The reason it failed was more to do with underage drinking, people drowning in the river, and all sorts of other bad things that can happen when alcohol and water are involved. I dont think the banks will have a similar atmoshere at all.

327 we all like lights and shiny things, now if the lights move in a pattern some of us may drool on ourselves . . . I mean just stare for a long time

1950's style diners...
My sister worked at the dube, still does a few week(end) nights i think too. Love the fact that PBR is on tap and the greasiest, friedest, food on OSU. But it is definetly not a diner. It is definetly a Dive though. That place could be lit on fire and a week later if it could open you might not even know.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I actually havent had their entrees so maybe we should switch ;) Also, I forgot to mention Corner Stone Brewery in downtown Berea, while not Middleburg proper Berea is close enough to be included, hell we share a school system. They have great beer, they are a brewery after all, and food too, all in an open kitchen enviroment. I also liked Voodooh across from Southwest. I've only been there once and that was a while ago, but it was good then. So I think if you look there are decent, maybe even good but not great, dining options in MH.
