Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I came across this initial design concept (second image) that incorporated more glass than the final design concept. I wonder why it changed? I prefer the original concept. The first image is what was submitted as final design

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
The Planning Commission gave "conceptual approval" back in February so the project wouldn't fall behind schedule. It appears some of the details were adjusted without a public viewing.

Are they still aiming for a July opening for phase 2?

That photo is along West Mall Drive. It is slightly raised to the same level as The Global Center's highest base point.

The canopy has begun to be installed along the Lakeside Avenue facade!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Yep. Wake me when Pace submits a building permit application to the city. "Feasibility Study" is political code for "how much taxpayer money can be anted up..." I wish we could have pooled all the money that has been spent on feasibility studies for lakefront development. I am sure that money could have paid for one of these concepts.

I am interested to hear of any updates from Cumberland regarding their plans for the lakefront. It seems everything has come to a halt.

Cleveland: Downtown: Drury Plaza Hotel Development
I did some quick photoshop adjustments to the signage and canopy. Instead of blending the canopy to the building's color, I adjusted the tones to match the existing doors patina. As for the signage I shrunk the sign and again based the tones to the doors. Forgive my crude adjustments.

Does anyone know why certain panels that appear as silver have different tones? They appear random. These are along the balcony bands of glass on all 3 sides of the podium.

I emailed Cleveland Construction for insight on the removal of the hoists and tracks along with all Cleveland Construction signage. I will let everyone know if I hear a response.

The glass curtain wall along The West Mall Drive Podium is basically all installed with amazing speed!

I am surprised how well it is bridging the gap between the beaux-arts architecture of The Burnham Plan and contemporary interpretation. At first I was against the design but seeing it come to life and it's glass reflecting the surroundings, I have come around to liking it.

What is going into that 1 story structure in the last photo? I don't remember seeing any renderings. It's unfortunate to have a "Do Not Enter" sign at your entrance! lol

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
I question if the curtain wall glass has enough difference in tones to reflect this rendering. As it appears in construction the glass color is the same tone throughout.

The small porch along West Mall Drive was always in the design. As for the canopy, It is definitely still in the design Plans were submitted to The Landmarks Commission for lighting schematics. Also other renderings show the canopy is still planned for The Lakeside facade. The rendering does show that the porch was eliminated off of The Lakeside facade

It is very impressive how fast the glass curtain wall has been going up. From the earth cam images it appears the podium glass along the mall side is halfway installed. http://www.cuyahogacounty.us/en-US/earthcam.aspx
