I presume they will build out to Ontario, If The Global Center is a huge success and in they would need to expand they could always add on towards Ontario. The Hotel would land lock any further expansion north.

The June 14, 2011 Medical Mart and Convention Center presentation to the county council shows the available footprint area as well as the connection areas to the facilities. http://council.cuyahogacounty.us/pdf_council/en-US/20110614_MedMartPresentation.pdf The development area is 60,200 sf. This would take into account the setback along Lakeside Ave. to match the setback defined by Public Auditorium .

I don't know if anyone else has seen this nice video CMA had done. This shows the construction of the atrium area. It has turned out to be a magnificent space.

They did an amazing job with the overall site that it would be nice to keep the same architect involved knowing all the concerns

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
I was researching the history of the Schofield Building and came across the article dated February 26,1969. This was the announcement of the two million dollar renovation of the exterior and interior. The exterior was made from a product called Glasweld/ This was a weatherproof asbestos reinforce material with an enamel surface. The architects were Bialosky and Manders. The tower was renamed The Euclid Ninth Tower. It is a fascinating read to see no objections to this project and to see 40+ years later the damages brought about by material with asbestos. I am surprised the renovation of the tower leaves the brown metal panels. I remember when The Bond Court Hotel was all brick and these panels were added later. The renovation of the lower section now seems as an add on rather than a complete integration. It also appears the original presented design has been altered.- Cleveland Browns Discussion

But that being said, I have noticed a positive development in The Cleve that may, or may not, be a sign that things are improving for the beleaguered Browns. I always heard the real reason The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum moved was when Forest City leased a store to a record store. Under the original agreement there waste be no competing business in the development and the deal was off. That's certainly the root of the issue. There ought to be a "landmarks caretaker" law. If a building is declared a landmark or is in an historic district and is considered by the building department to be in a state of disrepair, then a city property tax kicks in because this is the first indication the building will become a source of added expense to the city in terms of blight, crime, safety, code enforcement and a potential demolition expense to the city. The property owner can appeal and have X days, weeks or months to bring the building up to code. If the owner does not, then the added tax kicks in. If the owner fails to pay the tax, then the city becomes the lien-holder of first priority and can then take legal action to seize the property from the owner. If the owner still does not bring the property up to code, then the city takes the property and adds it to the land bank for sale. Well said and i completely second that.- Cleveland: Demolition Watch
