Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
So what has happened to The Cleveland Cuyahoga County Port Authority Lakefront Development plan developed by Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects in Sept of 2009? Is this plan now dead? I am getting tired of plans consistently being developed but nothing adopted. I much preferred this plan over the latest dream. All I hope is that sooner rather than later this prime piece of land get's its attention.

i agree with you regarding The Euclid ave. lamp posts

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I am not a fan of the stainless steel triangular columns as art. I hope they are only placeholders for something better. Also the lamp posts along the promenades are under scaled. I for one would love to see a more classic design to this element since the promenades are the remaining classic element from the original Burnham plan for The Malls. Since GGN and LMN Architects have mentioned the idea of incorporating the concept of uniting The Arcade into the plan, why not use the lampposts from that location on to the promenades?

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/grouplan/presentations/GPC_Presentation021011.pdf This is the link to the presentation pdf of The Group Plan Commissions recommendations. To do all that they ask is budgeted at around $90 million dollars. I sure hope all this can/could happen and the money could be found. This includes the restructured plan for Public Square. The presentation gives a much clearer picture than what The Plain Dealer has mentioned. I think the biggest shame about all of this is none of this money generated by the quarter cent tax increase imposed by cuyahoga county will be used for what the public's money should have been put towards. At least 10% of the overall budget should have been allocated to the funding of the public art aspects

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
That site on the website, from the planning commission, has been around for a while. I had mentioned it back on page 186 in october. Nothing new on that site ,but it is informative. On the yourchangingcleveland.com website there are more current renderings including the preformed cast concrete patterns for the medical mart facade studies.

Cleveland: University Hospitals Expansion (University Circle)
Was driving by UH in University Circle and I have included a view of the new parking structure. In a previous thread I had seen the corner unfinished and workers today were completing the skin. In person the campus is looking quite nice.

Scrappy Cleveland
Great photos. As hard as it is to see the first photographs of abandonment, I see great hope in the ability of these forums to show what exists beyond the postcard images of a city. These images should evoke all of us to help our community thrive. There is some amazing architecture in Cleveland just waiting to be rediscovered and rejuvenated.

Cleveland - University Circle - Euclid Avenue
Outstanding photo tour! Thank You for sharing. Love the CMA construction. Quick question....Is the corner of the new University Hospital parking structure finished or is there more stainless skin to be applied? It seems unfinished/unresolved.
