  2. It's been said many times before... Please now, let's end the "discussion" on the original color scheme and await the CB Connector scheme.

Is COAST waiting in the weeds? Jason Williams, [email protected] 10:18 a.m. EDT August 20, 2016 Politics Extra is a weekly column looking inside local politics COAST has been mostly quiet since the 2013 Cincinnati election, but the anti-tax group might be on the verge of a comeback. That probably will not be good news for those pushing to pass the preschool levy this fall. “There’s been a lot of email conversation among board members that maybe this ought to be the thing that we go after this year,” said attorney Chris Finney, one of COAST's ringleaders. "COAST hasn’t really had much of a presence the last couple of years, but there’s a lot of energy" around opposing the levy. Cont
  4. Streetcar advertising near goal, but you can still sponsor a station Cincinnati Bell's decision to buy naming rights to the streetcar was the windfall the project's budget needed to meet revenue projections in year one -- and that's before it even begins carrying passengers. But there are plenty of unsold spots for sponsors, an Enquirer review of records show. The naming rights deal has been inked. Advertising slots inside are mostly filled. 6. In other (minor) news... bollards were installed today on 2nd Street and the Walnut & Main St. bridges. Maybe elsewhere? So far, little effect... (sorry, pic taken while driving @ ~4:45 PM)
  7. Something appears to be going on inside the former Local 127 location. Windows are papered over and I saw a construction worker going in the front door.
  8. That would definitely help, although at 5:15 today I watched a car drive through the right turn lane at Walnut and continued into the transit only lane and down to the Riverfront Garage at Pete Rose Way. Being a game day pass holder, I figured they knew better but didn't care. Mo Egger... continued on that for 15m today during the 1:40 PM WLW "Stooge Report". A downtown resident, he insists he voted for the project and supports it.
  9. Reds game tonight... and drivers in this area regularly drive in the transit only lane. Streetcar and car collide Downtown A Cincinnati streetcar collided with a car on Third and Main streets Downtown Monday evening, sending the driver of the car to the hospital as a precaution. The accident, which happened around 7:10 p.m., shut down the intersection. This is the "only accident of this magnitude so far" regarding the streetcar, said Sallie Hilvers, spokesperson for Cincinnati Metro. Cont

  11. Metro / CPD should station someone at the Fountain Square stop weekdays at lunch... Wednesday it was a random SUV waiting to pick someone up, Thursday it was a Panera delivery truck, and today this driver for Wesley Community Services looked at the streetcar driver and waved them off when they blew their horn.
  12. Demo is well underway at the former Johnny Rockets / future The Stretch location. And unfortunately it appears that Toby Keith's awful looking awning will be staying...
  13. Opening sometime this month... Monday – Friday: 4:00 p.m. – Close Saturday – Sunday: 11:30 a.m. – Close

  15. I believe that is slated for next door at 8 E Fourth.
  16. It'll house Streetside Brewery. Amazing that they note that they are "opening in Cincinnati’s oldest neighborhood, Columbia-Tusculum" (fall of 2016) yet demolished a salvageable historic structure for this POS.

Construction of a GreatClips is underway at 128 E 4th Street (Merchantile Center).
  18. Anyone know what's going on with Hudy Delight availability? Over the past month, cans have disappeared from local Kroger stores as well as The Party Source. The latter has a couple 6-packs of bottles remaining.
  19. I didn't think I was going to be able to make it as I was organizing volunteers at Buckle Up... with that now canceled I think I can make it. Thanks for hosting!
  20. Just got word that this year's Buckle Up Music Festival is being canceled due to poor ticket sales. The country music festival, scheduled August 5-6 at Summit Park in Blue Ash, was to return after a year’s absence. PromoWest Productions put the concert series on hiatus after purchasing both Buckle Up and the Bunbury Music Festival from Bill Donabedian in 2014. Buckle Up's inaugural festival was held in July 2014 at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove. The lineup was: Randy Houser, Brooke Eden and Maggie Rose will join previously announced headliners Brad Paisley and Chase Rice, as well as singers Tyler Farr, Maddie & Tae, Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots, Jessie James Decker, Corey Smith, Mo Pitney, McGuffey Lane, Carter Winter, Christian Kaser, Billy Brown Band and Noah Smith.

WCPO[/member] 12:30 PM - 20 Jul 2016 UPDATE: @cincinnatimetro spokeswoman says @Cincy_Streetcar hit van's driver-side door that was open. Streetcar was scraped, no one injured.
  22. I would presume that Elm Street will remain open at 2nd Street for traffic exiting both 75S & 71/75N. This would allow access to both the CBD and the riverfront garages/lots. From purely a traffic perspective, this will be quite the challenge for event set-up on Friday. I'm also curious how the Riverfront Transit Center will be used. Other than for escaping the sunlight...
  23. Hmm... John London: "Location of major Oktoberfest announcement -- deck of Blind Pig at 24 west 3rd -- suggests possible shift of festival from 5th street. 11am"
