Reds trade All-Star 3B Todd Frazier to White Sox Earlier this month at Redsfest, Todd Frazier said he talked to Bob Castellini and Walt Jocketty and told them he wanted to be a Red for life. Less than two weeks later, the All-Star third baseman is a member of the Chicago White Sox, as the Reds sent Frazier to Chicago in a three-team deal that brought three prospects — infielder Jose Peraza, outfielder Scott Schebler and outfielder/infielder Brandon Dixon — from the Dodgers to the Reds. The trade of Frazier is the latest in the Reds' continued attempt to rebuild the team that went to the playoffs three times in four seasons from 2010 to 2013, but has lost a combined 184 games over the last two seasons. 5. EXCLUSIVE: Kenwood Collection lands largest office tenant yet The Kenwood Collection finalized a deal for its largest office tenant yet. Merrill Lynch, the wealth management division of Bank of America, is moving some of its Cincinnati operations to the Sycamore Township mixed-use development along Interstate 71. Merrill Lynch signed a long-term lease for more 50,200 square feet of space. As the anchor office tenant in the Tower at Kenwood Collection, Merrill Lynch will have signage on the south side of the building. Cont
  6. Cincinnati Business Courier has some additional details: EXCLUSIVE: Jeff Ruby shares details of his newest restaurant ... "This space is incredible. I've never seen anything like it," Ruby told me by phone from Cleveland in his first interview about the new space. "There's nothing even in Vegas that compares to this space." The lobby has 45-foot-tall ceilings and is flanked by 30-inch-circumference marble columns. The marble walls will be covered in diamond-tufted velvet to dampen the noise and give it a unique look, Ruby said. The original check-writing and tellers' tables will be incorporated into the steakhouse's decor and the bank vault will be used as a wine cellar to store Ruby's selection of fine wines, which was the recipient of one of Wine Spectator's highest recognition. The bank's original 9-foot-tall gilded statues will remain in the main hallways along with smaller statues throughout the former lobby. Ruby purchased an old bar once owned by Al Capone, which will be featured in this restaurant, he said. ...

Attended my annual game Saturday night. Was surprised to see so many empty seats in the lower bowl. Announced attendance of 12,342 seemed very generous. :-(
  10. To be fair, three of the eight establishments at The Banks are locally owned.

New Cincinnati NAACP president: Alliance with COAST is over ... “You will see a different Cincinnati NAACP,” Richardson said. “We won’t be in the news squawking as much. We won’t be out being negative in the paper and looking for publicity. We want to project a positive image for the organization.” Under Smitherman, the NAACP and COAST frequently teamed up on ballot issues, including opposition to a sales tax to build a new jail and a city charter amendment to bar the city from selling Cincinnati Water Works without voter approval. It’s unlikely the NAACP will pursue such ballot issues in the future, Richardson said. Cont COAST responds via Twitter: Feeling is mutual: New Cincinnati #NAACP president: Alliance with @GoCOAST is over
  13. How late will the streetcar run each day? City Hall could set operating hours for Cincinnati's streetcar this week – a decision to better accommodate people wanting to catch rides after a night out in Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. A motion to establish the streetcar hours is expected to be put to a vote during City Council's transportation committee meeting Tuesday and then full council later this week. It calls for the streetcar to run until 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. "It will be a lot more restaurant- and bar-friendly," Mayor John Cranley said Monday. "It just makes more sense." Here's a look at the hours the streetcar could run when the system opens to paying passengers in mid-September: • Monday through Wednesday: 7:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. • Thursday through Saturday: 7:30 a.m.-2 a.m. • Sunday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Cont

Report: Reds trade Aroldis Chapman to Dodgers FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Cincinnati Reds have traded relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for two prospects. The deal is pending review of medical records, sources say. The four-time All-Star was 4-4 with a 1.63 ERA in 65 games last season, allowing just three home runs in 66 1/3 innings. In 2014, he allowed just one home run in 54 innings.
  15. I've not yet read the article on Tucker's in this month's Cincinnati Magazine:
  16. Quite the contrary. Adams Crossing facing units will be buffered from Columbia Parkway by woods and depending on the buildings height will have partial views of downtown / Mt. Adams. It is a very quiet area, save for the occasional truck on 471 using its engine brake. The units that face Riverside Drive will hear rush hour and river traffic, but nothing that comes close to impacting quality of life. It is a great urban site on the river and close to everything. The problem with Adams Place is ongoing initial construction woes and very high COA fees. Units at Captain's Watch are fully occupied and when one does go on the market it sells within a month. Not to mention we receive several solicitations a month to sell. Towne really should have stuck with condominiums at this site. There is an increasing demand for them downtown.
  17. We should be seeing movement on the apartments soon. Soil samples are being taken and they have placed White (proposed excavation) and Pink (temporary survey marking) stakes around the site.

EXCLUSIVE: Cincinnati identifies a new source to fund Wasson Way The city of Cincinnati is looking for other ways to fund the Wasson Way bike trail, and it has zeroed in on the state of Ohio as a potential source of money. Mayor John Cranley and City Manager Harry Black sent a letter to the Cincinnati Business Committee asking it to ask the state for funding for the trail through Ohio’s capital budget. “The trail utilizes an existing, unused rail corridor and, when completed, will connect eight Cincinnati neighborhoods and the communities of Norwood, Mariemont and Fairfax and 83,000 people living within 1 mile of the trail,” the letter said. “It will provide alternative access to five major development sites, including sites at Xavier University and near Uptown, and will help make our community more attractive to families and to the talented skilled workforce that will propel the economy of the region.” Cont
