  1. Wow... 4-5 PM on a Friday in February. Terrible!
  2. Cincinnati Bell, and later Convergys, used to have their name on Atrium One where the current Omnicare sign is.
  3. Removal of the UDF is one of the final "negotiating" pieces to the deal. Medpace would want the hotel/convention center to have that corner presence.
  4. Who is shooting at Great American Tower? Authorities closed the Lytle Tunnel for the second day in a row Tuesday morning to investigate shots fired at the Great American Tower, Downtown. It was the fourth time in the last week someone has shot and hit a window of the building, owned by Western & Southern, according to Cincinnati police Capt. Michael Neville. All incidents have occurred after typical business hours, Neville said. "With the exception of nighttime security, the buildings have been unoccupied," he said. "Nobody has been injured." No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Cont
  5. Newport prepares for road, first buildings on Ovation site NEWPORT – Buildings might soon come out of the ground on the long dormant Ovation site in Newport about nine years after the project was first announced. The state of Kentucky in the spring will start construction of the extension of Ky. 9/AA Highway into Newport, a road that developer Corporex has said was necessary before starting the $1 billion commercial and residential Ovation project. Newport City Commission on Monday night granted an easement to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet near the Taylor-Southgate Bridge. Cont
  6. It's Medpace, not MedPace. How hard is it to do a little research Enquirer?!!
  7. What would you build here? Let's play SimCity with the streetcar route Tom Demeropolis and Chris Wetterich - Cincinnati Business Courier The streetcar will roll in 18 months, and the promise of a true urban circulator system already has Cincinnati real estate developers grabbing chunks of property along the route and others planning major projects. One of the biggest measures of success for the streetcar will be the economic development it spurs, and the potential for rising property values along the 3.6-mile loop. Work is underway on a number of projects whose developers have said they were driven by the streetcar: Cont - SUBSCRIBER CONTENT

Source: Shanahan leaves Browns The Cleveland Browns tradition of change continues as a team source told ESPN.com on Thursday that offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and quarterback coach Dowell Loggains will not be retained. Both spent one year with the Browns, and both were under contract for 2015. An announcement is expected later Thursday. The news was earlier reported by Fox Sports. Sources familiar with the situation said the split was caused because the pair did not see eye to eye with the front office about quarterback Johnny Manziel. The front office wants Manziel to be the starter, and the source said the coaches do not believe they can win with him. Cont

    Final Poll Results:
  11. After a recent remodeling of the ground floor retail space, 14 E 4th St. will soon soon be the new home of April Florist & Gifts. They currently have a very small space in the Tri-State Building on Walnut St. next to Simon Says, which I'd bet is looking to expand. It'll be nice to see a business open in this stretch of the block. Unfortunate that Bruegger's was forced to close last year...

  17. Use of the Riverfront Transit Center was mentioned in yesterday's Enquirer "talk to your government" series. Anyone know what the yearly costs are to run the ventilation? Who currently pays to run the system during games/events? What are transit challenges facing the region? As the region looks to attract more jobs and new residents to the urban core, Greater Cincinnati's largest public transportation system knows it has to play a bigger role. Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority board Chairman Jason Dunn says it's imperative for Metro officials to be part of efforts to recruit new companies and expand others. Transit leaders must have strong partnerships with top executives at Procter & Gamble, Kroger, Macy's and dunnhumbyUSA to help attract and retain young professionals. The next year is critical for Metro, which introduced a new CEO this week and held its annual meeting on Friday. In 2015, the transit authority will be in charge of hiring a streetcar operator; continue to lay groundwork for a potential regional transit tax ballot initiative; and figure out how to attract new riders after three straight years of flat ridership numbers. Here are five challenges facing the transit authority in 2015: Cont

  19. Old news now... Ruby's Waterfront became 'Poseidon Adventure' 1:55 p.m. EDT October 28, 2014 Demolition of Jeff Ruby's Waterfront restaurant began Monday, but Ruby didn't go. He couldn't. It was too painful. Instead, a text message with the words "funeral for a friend" scrolled across his phone. The message captioned a picture of construction equipment tearing into The Waterfront and turning it into scrap metal. Cont
  20. Canoes, kayaks coming to Waterfront site in Covington This time a business that’s supposed to float down the river will go into the former Waterfront space in Covington. A nonprofit has plans to make the dock where Jeff Ruby’s Waterfront once sat into a kayaking, canoeing and rowing destination. The city-owned property has sat vacant since March 2011, when the Waterfront closed after partially breaking loose from its moorings, eventually sinking in August. Cont
  21. EXCLUSIVE: Ultimate Air will add destination city (and maybe two) next year Steve Watkins - Staff Reporter - Cincinnati Business Courier Fast-growing private jet service Ultimate Air Shuttle plans to add its fourth destination city from Cincinnati next year with flights to Memphis, Tenn. Ultimate Air is also considering adding Nashville at the same time, Ultimate Air managing director Rick Pawlak told me Monday. "Memphis is our first choice, and that's the one we're looking to start for sure," Pawlak said. "But I'm learning there's demand out there for Nashville, too. We're talking to Cincinnati companies now and telling them that they'll have the opportunity to build their own schedule." Cont
  22. Downtown bar The Blind Pig opens behind O'Malley's The Blind Pig, a bar that strives to be a hybrid of a sports bar and a modern-day speakeasy, has opened Downtown. Located behind O'Malley's In the Alley, The Blind Pig has the same owner but a different vibe, general manager Scott Igbonegun said. "We wanted to go with an updated version of a speakeasy but add elements of a sports bar, too," he said. Cont
