Cincinnati: Fifth Third Bank
Fifth Third completes massive remodel of HQ lobby Fifth Third Bank has changed the face of Fountain Square now that it has opened its dramatically revamped atrium and lobby at its headquarters on the historic central gathering place. It’s the biggest renovation in the building’s 52-year history. Fifth Third (Nasdaq: FITB), the largest locally based bank and the ninth-largest U.S.-based consumer bank, has wrapped up construction on its long-awaited Project Connect. It began planning the revamped space three years ago and started construction a little more than two years ago. Officials declined to share the project's total cost. “When I walked in and saw this, and when I saw it at night, I was just amazed at what they accomplished,” Fifth Third CEO Greg Carmichael told me, speaking of the team who designed and built the space. “It far exceeded my expectations. It just came out phenomenal. Cont.

Bang for the buck: How public company CEOs' pay compares with performance For the third time in four years, Medpace’s Dr. August Troendle heads our list of Cincinnati CEOs who delivered the best return on pay Clinical research firm Medpace Holdings CEO Dr. August Troendle came out on top again in the Business Courier’s annual pay-for-performance ranking of company leaders providing shareholders with the best bang for the buck. It’s a bittersweet honor for executives as it typically means that their pay didn’t keep pace with their company’s strong performance. Joseph Gardner of Aerpio Pharmaceuticals and Duane Hughes of electric vehicle maker Workhorse Group ranked second and third, respectively, because, like Troendle, they also received pay cuts in 2020 while their companies posted strong results. Shareholders of those companies, led by Medpace, reaped the rewards as they got top-notch company performance while paying their CEOs low and declining compensation. Cont.

Cincinnati City Council Corruption
This was FBI's second secret informant in Cincinnati bribery case, sources say WCPO I-Team sources point to this guy Few people noticed on Jan. 17, 2019 when Cincinnati City Councilman Jeff Pastor’s name appeared in the meeting minutes of the Oakley Community Council. His chief of staff sent an email, saying an Oakley developer was “very interested in the Kennedy Connector” road project. Twelve days later, another email at City Hall identified Morelia Group CEO Christopher Hildebrant as one of three people interested in buying city-owned land no longer needed for the Kennedy Connector project. Between those two emails, something else happened, according to last November’s bribery indictment against Pastor. “Pastor had a call with Cooperating Witness 2 during which Pastor stated that he ‘strongly suggested’ to city officials to sell land to Cooperating Witness 2 to further Project 2,” the indictment states. Cincinnati: Downtown: Adams Landing
Developer looks to add 100 apartments along Cincinnati riverfront By Tom Demeropolis – Senior Staff Reporter, Cincinnati Business Courier Towne Properties is working on plans to add 100 apartments just east of downtown Cincinnati. The Mount Adams-based commercial real estate company is proposing a zone change for the property at 975 Adams Xing in the East End that would allow for development of a five-story, roughly 100-unit apartment building. Chad Munitz, vice president of development for Towne Properties, said the piece of property, adjacent to the existing Captain’s Watch building, is located on a great stretch along the riverfront. “It is a great location,” Munitz told me. “It’s almost downtown. It’s walkable, bikeable and Uber-able to downtown, but you’re not in the middle of the Central Business District.” Cont

Well the meeting occurred and their feedback was essentially 'we have no concern for the broader public, our residents will have stairs to Riverside Dr. on the east side of the property'. When pressed that Parsons St. is used today by many walkers, they said adding stairs between the retaining walls would require structural engineering, aka, money that will make this project less profitable. Rent estimates are ~$2 ft² and parking is an extra expense, both garage and surface spaces.

My understanding is that the next steps are to present to the city for zoning changes, LEED tax abatement request, and building permit.
