  1. ^^Unless you know what I don't there doesn't seem to be a problem. Work is being done behind the scenes with the working committee and AIG/Carter and I would expect to hear something in the coming months but as for now I'm glad that this deal isn't constantly making media attention this way we can have more substantive reporting going on.
  2. ^^Also, alot of the high end stores here have been inferior reproductions of what exists in other markets. People will spend (as they do when they go on vacation) but only if there is that specialness tied to a spot otherwise they wont go out of pocket.
  3. ^Not cheap, not overly expensive either. This however depends on the amount of salad and soup you get.
  4. Nick you sound pissed off. What's your likely scenario for mainstreet?
  5. Light rail and bring the guy from protransit in to meet with the mayor. Every municipality has faced problems with getting it implemented but many have gotten around it.
  6. They should go with something edgy like "Q?" or "8<" or they could just work on sorting out the problems that they have with the neighboring Winton Terrace. This is pretty similar to what North Avondale wanted (wants?) to do right now.
  7. ^UC fits alot of students into not much area.
  8. ^Exactly. One of the reasons that I hated going to the Levee.
  9. I actually hope that this doesn't get too much play in the media right now. I would like to have actual land acquisition before the media plays this up and then talks about the endless delays that this project is having. This is really important for the sixth and race retail corridors. This'll prompt restaurants and other retail along both of those streets. This will also spillover into convention benefits.
  10. ^That's current sq footage for the Parisian site I believe. Depending on what they do to the garage the footprint should expand. At 140,000 sq ft that would be an inordinantly small Nordstrom's, store mix would be pretty well compromised.

That Regal building could be the linchpin for that entire area. Have there been any plans for that building?
  12. ^People share a limited perspective on what makes a city great or even good; the "grass is greener on the other side" mentality can be broken with press like this. Was this article also shared in the Enquirer?
  13. ^The city should make it a priority to create restaurant development opportunities out of the program that exists at Cincinnati State in Washington Park.
  14. Can't resign; have to work with the project and incorporate as best as possible with the neighborhood.
  15. I don't understand how you don't greenlight another parking deck for a Nordstrom's. Nordstrom gives Cincinnati second chance Cincinnati Business Courier - 4:59 PM EST Mondayby Lisa Biank Fasig - Staff Reporter Popular retail chain Nordstrom, best known for its quality brands, wide gleaming floors and legendary service, said it signed a letter of intent to open a store at Kenwood Towne Centre, in the former Parisian location. 16. What is design-build like in Columbus?
  17. ^regarding that article above there is still weak overall job creation thus a lack of new regional influx so new housing development will have the overwhelming percentage of its share concentrated with movement of existing home owners to these new sub divisions.
  18. Say goodbye to Bond Hill's Theater and welcome Super Wal-Mart.
  19. Absorption levels due to stagnant job creation are pretty crappy already, so unless Butler is going to rope in new retail and bring in another Toyota this project will probably look significantly different than what's envisioned, probably a little less Miami and more big box. I kid.
  20. I spoke with a guy two weeks ago from Federated and he said that the fundamentals for a Bloomeys are not there, maybe in 5 years though we could talk about a Bloomingdale's in Kenwood as well.
  21. Guess I was wrong according to Channel 5 promo, Nordstrom's is going to confirm.
  22. Smart cities invest continually invest in infrastructure and beutification. That way they offer long lasting amenites. We're a dumb city and a dumb region. We needed transportation improvements 15 years ago, every year that this waits the region suffers. Costs for underground parking in this area are outrageous and reflect major shortsightedness.
  23. If the developer can't pass the cost of extra parking lot amenities over in some form of higher fees than the developer isn't going to give you a basic well functioning lot.
  24. Ending overlap and saving tax payer money is the main priority. I don't care about claiming a city of 800,000 if the core is weak with a lack of high density. More regional cooperation would be better with the 15 counties coordinating somewhat joint efforts. It'll be needed with the changes this region has and will experience.
