My brother-in-law's in-laws own the B&B pictured. It is as beautiful inside as it is outside. If you're in the area, highly recommended. Before I stayed there once, I too had low expectations for the area, but it really is a gorgeous town. If I could ever stand to live outside of a larger city, Wooster would be near the top of the list. JAFB is an excellent brewery, too.
  2. Nice! Was just there myself a few weeks ago. Handlebar and The Worm Hole are both great!!
  3. Absolutely stunning pics!
  4. Crap! Sorry...wrong thread. This was supposed to be in the Jersey City thread and I don't know how to delete a message I posted?!
  5. Nice! Brings back memories. I've stayed at that Ramada a couple of times when visiting NYC. There's a parking garage right next to it (only $9 or $10 a day!) and then it's 15 minutes to the Village on the PATH train. Not a bad way to go if you're traveling on the cheap.
  6. Ha! My wife and I stayed at that Country Inn last October. For NYC, it was really cheap (like $109) and only 10 minutes to midtown. It's pretty new and they have complimentary breakfast. Plus it was really easy to get a cab back to La Guardia because the cabs go down that street to get onto the Queensboro Bridge. Would totally recommend it.
  7. *sigh* Thanks, I hate my life now.

I love Old Brooklyn! Donut Connection's building is hideously fantastic in that futuristic space age 60s time capsule sort of way. In terms of architecture, I'm pretty sure we'll never see anything like that again. :-)

Ha...I did the bike trip over the bridge two years ago with my wife and another couple. I'll never forget it. We were lucky enough to nab $10 Skybus fares from Columbus on the first day they took flight reservations. I can't imagine why that airline didn't survive. ;-)

I've only visited Pittsburgh three times, but can't understand why people are still moving away from the city. A transformed local economy on the upswing and some great, great architecture. Why don't people appreciate what they have?
  11. Hmm...seems to be completely lacking the grit of a faded industrial past. :-) Everything is so sparkly and new-looking.

Wow! I'd never heard of Columbia-Tusculum before! Definitely have to check it out next time I'm in town!
  13. Thanks for all the positive feedback! I'm guilty of being a long time lurker, but believe me, I really enjoy all the great photos I see on here. I'll try to contribute more frequently. Cheers!
  14. I promised myself when the weather got nice, I'd finally get around to taking pics of my neighborhood and sharing them here. The Glen Echo neighborhood is at the northernmost part of the University District in Columbus, north of Hudson Street, west of I-71 and east of Indianola Avenue. The tour takes you down Glen Echo Drive into the ravine and the park, the commercial areas along Hudson and Summit and some of the residential side streets. Hope you enjoy! It's really a wonderful place to live.
