  1. Im not sure you do, but it wasn't even in their top 4 choices in Ohio? top 7 overall? For a company that close it doesn't make sense to me. I am going to write an email to their corporate office and ask them this very question. Maybe if enough of us on here do the same we can get some answers.
  2. Sad that not one of the 7 locations is in cleveland proper...im not advocating regional poaching but if their already looking at indepence and beachwood, why not Cleveland?
  3. I keep reading that Kasich plans to give the money back to 'reduce the federal deficit'.... I wonder how he'll try to justify that position if the money does in fact go to another states rail program
  4. ^ I just about died after reading this one 'Scotty is confused and his simple mind can't wiggle out of his idiotic position. '
  5. Just sent this to Kasich and his Cheif of Staff Dear Governor-Elect Kasich, Congratulations on your victory. I believe you and your administration will be able to move Ohio's economy well into the 21st century and turn it into a model for other states. I admire your resolve on the issues facing Ohio, including balancing the budget, but I urge you to reconsider your stance on the 3-C rail corridor. As a college student in Cleveland with a parent living in Columbus and extended family in Cincinnati, I would love to have an option, other than my car, when traveling to visit them. Years of driving between Cleveland and Columbus and hundreds of unproductive hours spent sitting in my car has left me wanting an alternative means of transportation. I understand that rail service is not the best choice for everyone traveling in the state, but please do not discount the fact that thousands of people, like myself, could benefit greatly from the service. Thank you for listening, Chris
  6. Has Kasich acknowledged, once, the benefit this money will have on our existing freight rails? It seems this keeps getting brushed under the rug?
  7. Always Always Always have a hat or a coat with a hood. It can getting pretty windy near the lake.
  8. Excuse my rant here, I've been reading comments on cleve.bomb :-o With all the obvious, glaring, no-brainer positives of 3-C, I am completely convinced that its demise will be because of the initial report citing its speed at 39mph. People cannot get over that number and its still cited all over newspaper message boards to this day. Go ahead, tell the nay-sayers about the jobs it will create and the traffic it will reduce, the oil we'll save and the economic impact it will have on our metros....ALL you will here back is 'No one is gonna ride a train that travels at 39mph'. Whoever in ODOT (or whatever agency) released that number before a detailed analysis was done can be thanked for this projects demise.
  9. Both are great places. 668 is hot right now, great location and brand new. It gets my vote
  10. ^ Thats ironic, my mother is currently in route from Columbus up to Cleveland for the weekend, she just called me to bitch about the traffic on 71 lol..... Yea, we don't need 3-C
  11. I lied.....after looking back at my pictures of the building from a month ago nothing has changed, the plastic on some of the windows has been there
  12. ^ It looks as if they're staring to cover up the windows today.
  13. ^ The PD has been feeding into 3-C misconception for awhile now.
  14. ^ Aren't the building(s) across from Statler Arms being turned into apartments?
  15. Its dirty money until someone wants to give it you. I suspect many of the Kasich supporters are not fans of President Obama, I can't see them wanting the money back in his hands either. Side Note: This money has been apportioned for rail only correct? Giving it back isn't going to anything to reduce the National deficit is it?
  16. ^ If you read all the bozo comments on Cleve.bomb, all the Kasich supporters are arguing that the money be used for other infrastructure projects and/or and a 'East-West' rail with Chicago. Once they find out that the money can be spent on 3-C and ONLY 3-C, they'll have to come to grips with the fact the money would have to be returned. I doubt that will sit well with many of his supporters.
  17. I would have to think that returning 400 million dollars in Federal Money would be political suicide.
  18. 'Kasich also appealed to President Barack Obama by letter Monday, requesting that the president "make provisions" for the federal-stimulus money to be used on other infrastructure projects in Ohio. If that can't be done, Kasich asked that the money be used to reduce the federal government's $1.4 trillion deficit.'
  19. Gov. Ted Strickland refuses to halt passenger rail project, despite request from successor, John Kasich Governor-elect John Kasich is calling on the governor he vanquished last week to derail Ohio's $400-million passenger train project. But outgoing Gov. Ted Strickland says it will keep rolling during his watch. Strickland rebuffed Kasich's call Monday to "immediately cancel" the Cleveland-to-Cincinnati passenger rail, which has already incurred $1 million-plus in costs for engineering and environmental studies. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2010/11/gov_ted_strickland_refuses_to.html

I actually live downtown and commute to Aurora. If you take 77 to 80 its about 40 mins. Avoid 480 and its really not that bad. Who's your job with in Aurora?

Jamison. Not enough bang for the buck and he plays the same position as JJ. Hopefully, we can parlay (sp?) his contract and our trade exception into a nice piece. I think we need Jamison's ability to score from the outside. JJ has shown no ability whatsoever to do this. I think a versatile 4 man is more important than a big 4 man on this year's team. JJ's been working hard if the off season on improving his jump shot. He looked good in the preseason and was shooting a high percentage from the line.

I sold my tickets for a whopping $12.50 on ebay. Pathetic. $12.50 for opening night against the Celtics. I can only imagine what I'm going to get for a Tuesday night against Sacramento...$4,000 down the drain... Jesus you're pessimestic....why did you by the tickets if you didnt want to go to the games?
