I just spent a half hour on Kasich website and I'm still not sure what he stands for. Reducing the debt and cutting taxes (how thats done simultaneously I'm not sure) and creating jobs. Ok....um.... how? For what its worth, I have couldn't tell you what Strickland plans to do either.

  4. WT Grant's in a great location in my opinion. I think you'll have a lot of fun there.
  5. Duke University and UNC did a joint study on Islam in the United States. Here's what they found Study: Threat of Muslim-American terrorism in U.S. exaggerated But it is the Muslim-American communities themselves who play a large role in keeping the number of radicalized members low through their own practices, according to the study. Leaders and Muslim-American organizations denounce violent acts, for instance, in messages that have weight within communities. In addition, such communities often self-police -- confronting those who express radical ideology or support for terrorism and communicating concerns about radical individuals to authorities. Some Muslim-Americans have adopted programs for youth to help identify those who react inappropriately to controversial issues so they can undergo counseling and education, the researchers said. "Muslim-American communities have been active in preventing radicalization," said Charles Kurzman, professor of sociology at UNC, in the statement. "This is one reason that Muslim-American terrorism has resulted in fewer than three dozen of the 136,000 murders committed in the United States since 9/11." more at http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/01/06/muslim.radicalization.study/index.html
  6. How about we label this thread correctly. "Islamic Community Center" at Ground Zero, wait... that doesn't sound as threatening. Also, this community center is 2 blocks away in an old Burlington Coat Factory (sacred ground indeed) and if anyone is wondering there are strip clubs within the same radius.
  7. Im sure they are....along with every other city in the country. It is hard when you have competition

I am shocked to see how affordable it is to live downtown. The complex I am living at in Kent (Pebblebrook) wants $900.00 a month for a single!

I visited Reserve Square and 1900 Euclid today...1900's location is perfect but the apartments and the amenities seemed a bit lacking. I really liked Reserve Square and the convenience of having a restaurant/bar and grocery store that close. I walked from campus to RS and there was a mildly rough stretch on chester near the greyhound station, nothing too bad though. Does anyone have experience with RS? I'd love to know what you guys think.

I'm transferring from Kent to CSU this fall and I need apartment recommendations. I'd like to be close to campus and walking distance from the essentials like transportation, groceries, BARS! I'm 23 and want to live with people around the same age. I'd be looking at 1 bedroom and could pay at most $900.00 a month. THANKS FOR THE HELP!
  13. Citizen Cope and OAR were playing at the Pavillon. It was a great show, but I guess your bound to have a few 'douche-baggs' with a crowd that large.
  14. ^ No ones arguing that this is a rough stretch of Cleveland ccars, but don't underestimate what developement like this could do for the area. The status quo there is obviously not working...and I am pretty sure the residents there would be against the whole bulldozing idea. Lets remove the concrete blight of gas stations and fast food joints and replace it with something the residents there can be pround of.
  15. I agree its not the most exciting design, although from one angle it looks similar to the new Education Building at CSU, which I would say came out extremely well.
  16. We as Clevelanders have always been somewhat disconnected from the beach/lake front for some reason i cannot explain. I feel like there would be a lot of economic opportunity if thats changes.

The ironic thing is that Miami is considered the 12th biggest TV market....Cleveland is the 13th The difference negligible

^ they did something to that effect on ESPN of Wade Bosh and LBJ all signing maxes, they would have just a few thousands dollars left to fill 8 roster spots. Now, they are allowed to go over the cap by signing players at the league minimum, but that senario seems very, very unlikely.

That's the problem, he can't get anyone to follow him to Cleveland. If basketball season was in the summer, maybe a typical NBA player would want to live in Ohio 7-8 months out of the year, but not October-March. He's gone, he's going to Miami.. Lets not start panicking, 8 titles...He is prob NOT going to Miami, They only have 2 players currently on contract and Wade and Bosh will take up most of their salary cap room. Its prob going to be Cleveland or NY, I would say its 60/40 Cleveland right now, hiring Byron Scott might have been our saving grace. We will see
  22. Great Pic, side note: Is there any plan to clean the first 25 or so floors of Terminal Tower?
